Tons of seating - they have a variety of tables and chairs to choose from and the space is quite large. I feel like the space is perfect for small wedding receptions, community gatherings or family events. The decor leans towards religious, and there is no mistaking their feelings. The menu is small, but they cover the basics. They have burgers, a meatloaf plate or sandwich and plated salads that sounded good. I had the cheeseburger with green beans and hubby had the meatloaf plate with roasted potatoes. As far as the food goes, we were sad that it didn't quite live up to our expectations. The meatloaf was served dry without a glaze or gravy and just tasted ok. My burger tasted just a little off, but I couldn't quite place the taste. We decided against ordering a piece of pie, so I can't comment on that. read more

What a great find this was. Warm inside with plenty of comfortable tables to sit at. The owners took our order because it was just them in the Cafe. I had their cheeseburger and side salad while my friend had the 3 cheese sandwich with the soup de jour (chicken and vegetables.) My burger was amazing and very flavorful. All the breads were homemade too. We both ate for no more than $20 and they were both super nice. One thing was interesting was that when we ordered water we were told that they had a calagan water filter for the water but also the ice maker. She was right the water was fantastic and no after-taste. We will definitely come see them again for Steampunk Days which is next year during last weekend in August. read more

We experienced this restaurant years ago and was very impressed...with the people who run it and the food. On a trip a few days ago, we tried to go again but they were closed for family reasons. One of staff of the Tom Sawyer boyhood tour recommended this restaurant as having the best burgers in town and commented that the family does good things in and for the town. Dude. The homemade buns are amazing. They don't serve fries so if ya have kids who are fry kids then let them know it's oven roasted potatoes (which are soooo goood). The owners are so nice and friendly it feels like you are talking to an old family friend. Highly recommend read more

I don't think I can say enough good things about this restaurant. I was looking for a place about half way between Chicago and Kansas City to meet my daughter for Thanksgiving. They were kind enough to open for us and the food was the best Thanksgiving feast I have ever had - and I am a good cook. Everything here is made from scratch and it is delicious. The pies are phenomenal. There was peach pie, regular pecan, chocolate pecan and pumpkin. Various cheesecakes and brownies all with home made whipped cream. The family which owns it are probably among the nicest people in the world, and you feel immediately at home. If you are looking for fancy, this isn't it. If you are looking for delicious, real food like the kind your grandmother made when you were little, this is the place. read more

This is my new favorite little restaurant downtown. Me and my boyfriend stumbled on it accidentally. We were just looking downtown at the shops and saw it and decided to check it out. They had just got done with a lunch rush it was about 3:00 when we got it and the lady was so sweet. She told us about the menu and the specials and the prices were very reasonable. I had a cheddar cheese burger and it was amazing. My boyfriend has the blue cheese bacon burger and he loved it. He didn't even like blue cheese until he had that burger. The staff was very sweet and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good bite to eat in a very homey atmosphere. I have nothing bad to say about this place. read more

This is a real mom and pop kind of restaurant. They have unmatched tables and chairs and the ambiance is like walking into your grandma's home. We were greeted by a sweet elderly lady and she went over the specials for the day. I ordered the hamburger that comes with homemade buns and chicken and vegetable soup on the side. Hubby orders meatloaf sandwich with chillI as a side dish. My burgers comes with a nice size party and tasted really good. The soup has a clear broth that comes with squash and couple ounces of chicken breast. For desert we had the German chocolate pie. There is a hint of coconut nut flakes and nut inside a delicious chocolates filling. read more

we stumbled on this little treasure. warning: they have homemade pie. We tried two different kind, peach and chocolate pecan. Both were amazing. Large slices. We also tried a burger on a homemade bun, did not let a single crumb fall on the plate. Today's soup was wild rice. We would highly recommend Greater Days.
