    BLT with a salad .

We hadn't been at the mark Twain dinette in like 15 years. So happy we went. The food was really good and the service was excellent! The place was very cute and had a good Hannibal feel to it.

This place is great! The menu is quite large and they have a very impressive vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free menu. The vegan burger was very good and worth the higher price. The wait time was short and the food came out piping hot. The restaurant is pretty nice and there's a cool little gift shop on one end. There's something for everyone here and you should definitely check it out!

Great local place with a Mark Twain History.... Local people were eating there so we knew it would be good AND it was. It was a Saturday night and we were lucky to find this place using YELP.

Better than I expected. My food was excellent. It's a nice enough place with a cool gift store attached. My only complaint would be that someone in our party of 4 wanted to order fried chicken which would take longer to prepare, but didn't want to slow down the other orders for the rest of us. The waitress couldn't figure out how to make that happen. I found that pretty ridiculous. Other than that, the service was good.

We stopped in Hannibal to break up a long drive and this is the cutest little town. I thought the Mark Twain Dinette looked good and it did not disappoint. It gives very much comfort food vibes. We got the Mississippi BBQ burger and the catfish sandwich. Both were so delicious! The portion sizes are perfect to fill you up, and not need a to go box. It's nothing super special or amazing, but everything hit the spot. Our server was also really warm and friendly.

Unassuming from an outsider's POV but wow, the food was fantastic. Got the philly cheesesteak with mashed potatoes and gravy (and 4 bottles of root beer to go). Already considering what I'll try next time.

This was my third visit - Once a year with the kids. I love the idea of a place being able to take a person back to a simpler time, and in Hannibal, it makes it all the more special. The first two visits were just okay, so I will skip right to the latest experience on 7/30/2022. I noticed that quite a few people walk across the street from the hotel, but the parking lot was quite packed as well. We went in and WE greeting the unfriendly hostess. A customer-facing position is nowhere near the ideal fit for someone with her attitude. It goes against the grain of the atmosphere that I believe the owners intend to convey. Speaking of atmosphere, this place (except the gift shop) needs a heavy and thorough cleaning. We were seated in the back dining room which was absolutely filthy. The carpet is dark black - I thought that was the original color, but it is actually a light grey, judging by the area near the trim that doesn't get traffic. Absolutely disgusting. Another thing I noticed was the ceiling. I looked up and saw that the vents have black soot accumulation all over them. This is right over tables as well and makes me wonder if any of this crap drops down on the tables. The ceiling tiles are stained with water damage. Our server was also not the friendliest in the world. My iced tea and daughter's water sat empty for about 10 minutes before he came back around to offer refills. He brought them out but didn't bother taking the empty glasses. This happened with each refill, and we were getting quite a collection going on. The food itself was good and fresh. The server got a little friendlier as he brought the check by (tip time). We went to pay and were again met by the cranky hostess - No smile, no "how was your experience," no "thank you for your service because it helps pay my way," no nothing. I have seen happier faces on iodine bottles.

Wish I would have known this little gem was here sooner. I've been passing through for years and had no idea. We stopped twice this past week on our way from Illinois to Kansas City. Will be regulars now!

I got a cold brew and it was pretty good. The inside is full of books and art along with tons of spots to sit and enjoy. I love all the mixed tables and chairs!! It looks like they stole all the kitchen tables:chairs from my childhood. With soft blend of music and a TV playing to keep the mood engaging. Everyone was there for something but yet again maybe they were there to find something. Either way, I am sure you can find it here. One concern is that it is a little pricey but you get one trip around the sun. And, since they played Tom Petty, then there is not much to worry about anyhow!!

The drinks were good but a bit too sweet. I had a lavender lemonade with honey boba! My dad a regular lemonade and my daughter Dr. Pepper with cotton candy flavor. We had the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant, a hummus veggie wrap, and a breakfast sandwich. No complaints as they were fresh, big portions, and delicious. Whether you are looking for ice cream, a fun drink, cofantastic pastries, or a fantastic lunch you must stop by!

It was great…read more I read in my preview that the line to the counter is always there...but it moves quickly...and it is and does. I had to visit Blues City as I heard they have great Po Boys...and they do. I am used to having oysters or shrimp on a Po Boy. Not here. They are basically served with many versions of meat. I had the Benton Park Po Boy and it was incredible. The sandwich has ham, roast beef, turkey, provel, and is dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, pepperoncini, sweet red pepper sauce on french bread. My wife, being vegetarian had the Panino Fresco. It included mozzarella, provolone, dressed with homemade olive salad, tomato, onion & Italian vinegar oil on an Italian roll. This was the first time in 26 years that she finished the entire sandwich. I had a bite of hers, and it is easy to see why she she finished it. So good. I even bought a memorable t-shirt as I loved Blues City Deli. The female counter person was so friendly. She even wrote down three other restaurants to try while we were visiting St Louis. Blues City Deli is a can't miss place and if we are back in St. Louis...we will be back.
