My husband and I stopped here for drinks and simple food. The girl at the counter with pink hair was pretty rude. Asked what we wanted and when I told her we weren't sure yet (since there's no menu other than the tv that keeps switching to a different menu every 10 seconds) she seemed annoyed. When I asked her for a iced salted caramel macchiato she chuckled and asked if I want a Starbucks one or one of theirs. I was confused, but stuck to what I know, so I said Starbucks. She blatantly looks and me and goes ".......so a latte then" and goes and makes it. It was rude and confusing. My macchiato is nothing what it's supposed to be, it's not even a latte. It literally tastes and looks like watered down milk. I'll stick with going to Starbucks for a macchiato that actually tastes like one. I got a bagel and cream cheese that I waited 5 minutes for. Bagel is good. Cream cheese has no flavor. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookie tastes like a dry peanut butter cookie. My husbands strawberry smoothie tastes watered down and rancid. I went there today. I had an almond blackberry iced latte (delish!) and a turkeyberry panini. Yum-o! It's roasted turkey (not deli slices like the real stuff that eat at Thanksgiving.) stuffing, cranberry Mayo (I HATE Mayo and I need it disguised!) I asked for no Mayo and found out it's cranberry Mayo so that was fine and I think provolone cheese? I don't remember. It was really good. I don't know the counter servers name. She was working alone and she had a line out the door and she was super patient and calm under pressure. She delivered the food and cleaned up. She was working her butt off. People were flowing in from the market and they were providing great service, great drinks and great food. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and there is always space to hang out and drink your coffee (or eat a meal). The decor could use a little freshening up.. but the main reason I can only give Java Junction 4 stars is that they only have skim or soy milk for espresso drinks. So disappointed with the cleanliness and low quality food/coffee. I've tried this place multiple times in hopes that the nasty food and coffee could be by chance. The iced coffee drinks taste like old burnt coffee. They pour the drinks out of a dark stained dirty pitcher that sits in a little fridge on the counter. Their coffee beans are just burnt tasting. I also got a chicken salad sandwich. It was made from that cheap chunk chicken in juice that comes out of a can. Somehow they are super busy. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have a sizable menu with lots of vegetarian options, and several specials each day, which they are apparently known for. My husband and I love going to Java Junction ! The food is awesome and the staff is over the top nice!!! We like sitting on the couch to eat our breakfast and seeing people come in to get their breakfast and so many are just as friendly as the people who work there. If you're the type of person that likes friendly, engaging service, where the server will remember your order and suggest certain things each time you come in (either with coffee or food), they'll do that. If you're looking to be left alone and read or study, they're perfectly happy to drop food and leave you alone, too. A girl's day out landed us in Brockport and on the doorstep of Java Junction. I'll admit, it wasn't out first pick for lunch, but closing, vacations, and a desire not to walk far led us here. Plain and simple: Java Junction is the bee's knees. I have never had anything that wasn't delicious. The turkeyberry panini is my favorite; it's Thanksgiving on a panini. The soup is to die for, especially the Hungarian mushroom. They often have a turkey croissant sandwich special with orange and cranberry marmalade; it is wonderful. You really can't go wrong with anything - even the side salad is the best in town. My favorite part about Java Junction is the kind staff. Bobby (Bobbi?) is a doll: friendly, warm, etc. She also makes all the desserts and does a great job. She epitomizes a small business owner.
