Very cute coffee place in Granby. Reasonable prices for big portion meals - we got a wrap and a burger. The fries are worth the extra $2 - perfectly crispy and warm, delicious. We also got a tea. Beautiful view of the mountain as you eat. Great place to stop for a quick coffee or lunch on the way to Steamboat Springs from Winter Park! The seating area in the back is really nice with games and a cozy couch- this place is huge!

I went to Java Lava for breakfast and ordered biscuits and gravy, G Skillet and Huevos. The biscuits and gravy lacked flavor, lacked sausage and the biscuit didn't taste homemade. The G Skillet had a little kick and flavor was good. My favorite was the huevos, this had the best flavor and the refried beans tasted great on this breakfast plate. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was what I would expect for a breakfast diner.

The food, especially the huevos, had incredibly small servings for how expensive it was. It was an order the counter. My chai was far too sweet, especially since it was a spicy chai, and my husband's latte tasted like there was no flavor in it. The food was just okay. It wasn't super bad, but I wouldn't recommend that anybody come here. Limited service since it was an at the counter ordering process, and the ambiance of the place was cute, but not even close to worth the sum of money we spent.

I have been to Granby 4 times and absolutely love this place. Their coffee selection is amazing. Their full serve breakfast is so satisfying. The grab and go burritos are a home run. Love the fact that locals gather and enjoy good breakfast, atmosphere and conversation. Pretty cool. People serving are amazing. Refreshing in this day and age. Can't wait to make my way back over the pass again.

My fiancé and I were looking for a good spot to have breakfast before heading to sulfur springs, and this place popped us, so we decided to give it a try. Welcoming spot, lots of people and a line, so it's obviously popular, they have a huge space up front as well as a huge space in back, so plenty of spots to sit. Their menu was pretty good, definitely something for everyone. My fiancé got unsweetened iced tea and it had floating gunk, looked like mold. We both got potato based dishes - definitely diner food like a high class Denny's. Personally, wouldn't be back, but it's did the job for quick, greasy breakfast.

For a small town, we were so pleased to have stopped into Java Lava Cafe. It's easy to see why they are rated so highly. Super colorful interior, friendly down home staff and pretty speedy service. We stopped in on our way back from boarding and enjoyed our meal here. We had breakfast - served all day (until they close at 2 pm) but if you're a lunch person, they also have a lunch menu. He had Huevos and I ordered the G Skillet. Great flavor - no Cholula sauce needed. Love that mine included green chili sauce. Yum. Thanks again, Yelp and fellow Yelpers, to make our morning breakfast stop amazing.

The huevos rancheros and hash browns were good. A bit too much beans for my liking but would still order again.

Show me what you not only can do, but what you do WELL. Lots of fun options on here. *welcoming staff member. Super friendly and helpful. *it was open on a Monday when so many other places (in Grand Lake) were closed. My husband got the fish and chips and they were phenomenal. The dipping sauce was sooooo good as was the coleslaw! The fish was cooked perfectly and the breading on the fish was wonderful. 10/10 I got the bbq pork tacos and I think my meal stole the show. The medley of flavors between the pork, the bbq sauce, the corn, the crema, and the coleslaw?!? Party in your mouth! Stupid good!!!! 10/10 Things I didn't love: *Pepsi products instead of Coke. Woo, okay this is going to be a long one…read more... Bluebird bistro was a rollercoaster ride, starting with a frustrating welcome. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate our group of (14). The "helpful" person on the phone offered two options: 1. We could be seated separately at different tables right away OR 2. Wait about an hour for one large table. We decided to go with option 1. Arrived at the restaurant just 5 mins later (we were literally already down the road), only for that exact person to tell us when arriving a completely different story. She claimed that we didn't call her back to let her know we were on our way... ? .... Therefore she had no wait time for us and didn't know how long it'll be.. uh? Ok? We were all confused, and frustrated. As we talked amongst ourselves in the waiting area, we decided we were going to take our business elsewhere..... well what do you know suddenly a table was ready for us. At this point, it was getting late, chilly and hangry. We decided to stay and give it a try. And honestly I'm happy we did because we were blessed with a waitress named Kendra, who was phenomenal! Kendra transformed our experience, her service was top-notch. When a few people in our group were not happy with their drinks/orders, she quickly took the items off the check and brought out replacements. I had ordered the elote nachos, and they arrived without queso, instead of just bringing a side of cheese, Kendra took the entire plate back and returned with a fresh, hot order made correctly. Let's talk FOOD: Honestly it was mostly a hit. My margarita pizza was delicious. the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the balsamic drizzle was a perfect touch. The others in our group were happy with their pizzas, wings, burgers, and steaks. Even the kids seemed pretty happy with their basic chicken fingers and fries( lol ) .... I was told the only miss were the fish tacos, which were on the dry side, and my elote nachos. While the nachos were good, they didn't have much of the classic "elote" I was hoping for like the crumbles of cheese, sauce etc... Overall, it was a decent spot, and thanks to Kendra, our meal/experience was really SAVED. I took off stars because again while the food was generally good, the confusing and unwelcoming check-in process was a major let down.

The experience I had at this establishment was deeply disappointing and honestly unlike anything…read moreI've encountered before. Our group of seven set out to enjoy a meal together, but what we faced instead was a cascade of errors and outright disrespect from the waitstaff and management. To begin with, the server mixed up an order, which admittedly could happen in a group our size--but the nature of our requests made the errors easily avoidable and, just as importantly, simple to correct. Five of us ordered essentially the same thing, differing only in small details like scrambled eggs with or without cheese. When we politely pointed out the issues to the server, we were met with an unprofessional and rude response. At one point, he even went as far as telling some of our party members that they needed to "pay attention." This attitude alone soured the experience, but things only deteriorated further from there. For instance, when one person's eggs--which had been incorrectly prepared with cheese--arrived with no cheese, we kindly requested they be remade. Shockingly, the waiter refused outright, stating he would not redo the order nor remove it from our bill. If that wasn't bad enough, he went on to suggest we would receive poor service like this regardless of where we dined--a claim entirely untrue based on our many other dining experiences elsewhere. Given the escalating tension, we asked to speak with the manager to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, the response was even more disheartening. The waiter brusquely declared himself to be the manager and outright refused to take any action to address our concerns. Hoping for someone with more authority to intervene reasonably, we then requested to speak with the owner. However, the owner was equally dismissive and maintained that his server couldn't possibly have spoken to us in such a disrespectful manner--even going so far as to deny any wrongdoing entirely. When I pointed out that the server's behavior suggested he might have been having a bad day but ought to remain respectful to customers regardless, I was met with indifference. I tried to explain how critical customer service is--especially when tourists like us choose to spend money supporting local businesses--but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Ultimately, things reached a breaking point when another guest at the restaurant ask us to leave, as no resolution. It was such a shame because, truthfully, the food itself was quite good. Unfortunately, no amount of culinary quality can compensate for the poor treatment we received from both staff and management alike. To think that we originally planned to purchase some of their locally made jam as a show of support for their business--it now feels inconceivable that we'd contribute any further after such an appalling episode. To sum up: while the food may meet expectations for taste, the dismissive attitude makes this establishment one to avoid at all costs. If you value being treated kindly or even with basic professionalism, steer clear and take your business elsewhere where it will truly be appreciated.
