Disappointing customer service. I stopped by for lunch with my medically trained service dog. I was told dogs were not allowed. I clarified that my dog was a service dog and that I would sit outside. After I said that, I was met with what felt like a cold response and was simply told, "ok." After I sat outside, the same server approached and said, "We don't allow dogs on the patio either." For a second time, I explained that my dog was not a pet but a service dog. The server then responded with something along the lines of, "If it really is, that's ok." At that point, I decided not to eat at the restaurant. I mentioned that refusing service to someone because of a service dog is illegal. The server responded that he did not hear me say my dog was a service dog earlier, which was confusing because we had already gone back and forth about it. A man claiming to be the owner then came out and did not seem concerned about the situation or interested in addressing the issue, only concerned about the dog. He repeated that the server didn't hear me which I find extremely hard to believe due to the back-and-forth exchange and cold response initially when mentioning the dog is a service dog. read more

This is a great find! The servings are huge and the service is top of the line. Plus the burrito was fantastic. We chose to share one(me and the better half), but it still filled me up. Never a bad time here the food is really good. It's not your typical oval plate with beans and rice and a little side salad. They actually have a few different items on the menu that you won't see anywhere else. The atmosphere is fine, nothing fancy, and the menu offers a nice selection of standard Mexican dishes. Some plates might work better than others; I had the Carnitas, and the meat was dry, my husband thought his enchilada was just okay, but one of our friends who got the steak Chicano found it tasty. If you absolutely love Mexican food, and you are insistent upon finding a Mexican spot, this is probably your best bet in the area as there's not many options to choose from. The service happened to be amazing which is different from the most recent post that I've read, and the sangria was pretty delicious as well. The workers were so nice and had a fun sense of humor and joked around with us. Free chips and salsa were refilled at our table very efficiently. I stopped by Grand Azteca in Granby around 4pm and inquired about take out for my wife's birthday. We were celebrating with a family reunion and did not want to spend the evening cooking. I advised that the order would be for 8 people and was informed that it might take 30 minutes to prepare the food. I called the restaurant at 6:15 to place the order and was told that the restaurant was too busy. I explained that I had just spoken with an employee about a takeout order. I was informed very rudely that there would be no take out. I asked if I could come to the restaurant, place an order and wait for the food. This request was refused. After inquiring why the restaurant had changed its position the employee hung up. Very rarely do I write a bad review. It was my wife's birthday and with young grandkids we wanted to eat at our residence. I understand being busy but a good establishment would honor its prior commitment. read more

We were craving authentic Mexican food and luckily found this gem on Yelp! You know the restaurant is for real when they have menudo on the menu. We had two delicious pork tamales for a starter and then ordered two dishes we were craving. The Pozole soup was a very generous portion with a lot of tender pork. The star of the show for me was the chicken in mole sauce. The mole sauce is the best I've ever had! The plate comes with refried beans, rice, and warm tortillas. I'd actually give it 4.5 out 5. Service was excellent, food was served hot and fresh. I ordered the steak quesadillas and they were average, but the other 2 with me really enjoy their plates. Absolutely phenomenal experience here last night! The place was slammed.. (always a good sign), but despite it being packed a table was ready for us just a quick minute after another couple got up, and we were seated at a clean table with chips & salsa waiting.. just as they made it to the register to pay. Waiter was quick for drink orders.. 3 waters, Caddy Margarita.. then returned within 3 minutes, drinks in hand. We ordered our meals, and got great recommendations on a couple of items. We decided to order queso to have with our chips.. GET THE QUESO.. if you've never had the white queso anywhere before, GET IT HERE!! This is very different kind of queso than you get at most places where it's like gloppy melted yellow orange cheddar, THE WHITE QUESO has a very thin texture and is Best piping hot, as it was served to us at Azteca. It compliments the salsa very well, which leads me to my next upgrade: spicy hot salsa! If you can handle a good habanero salsa, ask for it here.. but use it with caution! read more

Very disappointing. We were in town for work and we're on a tight schedule. We ordered fish tacos and were served chicken tacos. My husband and I were to split them. Being that I'm pescatarian I was unable to eat them. She didn't come back to check on us for 30 minutes so we were unable to tell her that our order was incorrect. The beans are very old(rancid). Took a long time for our order to be taken. There was only one waitress for the restaurant so she must've been annoyed because she was very short tempered. The waitress was aggressive walking up and down the restaurant, then she drops 6 drinks that she had on a tray and then blames our family for her dropping the drinks.
