It's like walking back in time to when you were a kid. They have their large feature movie auditorium and a smaller theater up by the Main Street entrance for smaller group showings, such as periodic free kiddie movies. Check online for their current showings and one has to appreciate their reasonable ticket rates compared to the big metro multi-plexes. There are some films best first experienced on the big screen, and I never felt short-changed with any of the blockbuster movies here. Their concession stand now offers a selection of beer for the adults. I always enjoy going to the movies here and hope this review gets some others to attend also. So many local theaters have shuttered around the country and we need to keep this community gem going.

Tucked away in what looks like a roadside barn, this quirky little gem is free to the public and runs on a beautifully simple honor system: turn on the lights when you arrive, and turn them off when you leave. The museum is an ongoing "cabinet of curiosities" dedicated to celebrating the beauty and meaning in ordinary, everyday objects. From toothbrushes and safety pins to matches and dust, each exhibit is carefully curated with a mix of history, philosophy, humor, and poetry. It makes you stop and really see the things we often overlook. One of the most interesting facts we learned was about the humble pencil ... how it evolved over time and the crucial role it played in everything from education to art. Another standout was the exhibit on safety pins, which delved into their invention and surprising cultural symbolism. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate, and almost meditative. It invites you to slow down and engage with the ordinary in a totally extraordinary way. There are no flashy signs, no loud crowds ... just you, the exhibits, and a sense of wonder. If you are ever near Glover, this museum is well worth a visit. It was the perfect, whimsical way to start our day of exploring, and it left us seeing the world with a little more curiosity and appreciation.

The craved wood staircases, the built for the ages book coves, and the wooden floors that seem to speak. But the library has two other wonderful surprises. The up-to-date collection of books, magazines, and other publications. The locals must love this place as I, a visitor, immediately loved it. Last but not least is the Art collection. The Library itself has several well-placed paintings that blend in with the furniture and neighboring books. The separate Art collection, in a separate climate-controlled room, was a wonderful well-thought-out collection of masterpieces. As a frequent art museum visitor, especially in my hometown of Houston Texas, I was surprised to find the same artist's work here in St Johnsbury as in the art museum in the 4th largest city, especially in the U.S. The Athenarum's stated mission "is to promote life-long learning through art, literature and information services, and to preserve its National Historic Landmark building, art collection, and furnishings."
