We were looking to meet up with friends to watch a game and Jay Deez was a great choice! Pulling up to a strip mall always makes me question if the food will be any good. We were not disappointed at all! TV monitors everywhere. Place was packed, but they still found us a table right away. Service was quick and friendly. Beer was cold, but the best part was the jumbo shrimp basket. Yum!!! Large shrimp in what was similar to a tempura batter but lighter. It didn't cover the large juicy shrimp up. It just gave it a light crunch. The BEST fried shrimp with sliced potatoes as fries. The way they were sliced was perfect for scooping up ranch dip! We also ordered an appetizer of jalapeño peppers stuffed with cream cheese and shrimp. Definitely spicy! We really enjoyed both dishes. If you find yourself in Jay Deez neighborhood and you love shrimp, you gotta try this place out!! read more

The ladies behind the bar are a bunch of hard working females. They're busting their ass and some of the people at the bar are a bunch of losers. It's Monday Night Football and a little bit more busier than what they normally are. I had to sliders with home made fries. The burgers are smashed, so it's like eating burnt patties, they're a little over done. But after 4-32 ounce mugs of shock top, I really didn't taste much anyways. Excellent ketchup!!! read more

We came out to round top from MS, went to jay deez two nights in a row. Food was amazing both times, but even more than that, Ziggy was an above top Mazing waitress. This is an amazing young woman, with a great plan for her life. we will be headed back tomorrow, but when we are back you can bet we will eat here again and ask for Ziggy! Alright- I was passing through with some guys that I work with and we stopped for lunch. My coworkers got burgers which was the safe bet- I mean it's a bar&grill centered around sports. This makes sense. And they all said it was good. And the service was great. So here is where things went sideways; it was cold and rainy and they have Chicken & Sausage Gumbo on the menu. And I ordered it. Do not do this. It was the worst gumbo I've ever had in my life, hands down, not kidding. The roux was burnt, the chicken was dry, there was no trinity, I got one piece of sausage and it was not seasoned well. I couldn't believe a restaurant would serve it. Anyhow if you're looking for a burger and a beer and good service while the game is on it's a good spot but stay away from the gumbo. read more

Went there last night for a company Christmas party. I ordered the Cajun Pasta (one of the higher priced items on the menu) only to learn that it comes with ZERO sides, not even garlic bread/toast or side salad. You get the pasta, period. Even the lower priced Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo comes with garlic bread/toast. What gives on the menu planning here? They can't even include garlic toast with a pricier pasta dish, so I ordered some garlic bread, and it never came. Never. I finally ordered it AGAIN from a different waiter. It arrived AFTER I finished my meal. And it was cheap sliced white bread, not french bread or a quality bread. THEN they charged me for it when it arrived AFTER my meal was eaten and really SHOULD have been part of the entree' in the first place. Then, I paid in cash, and my change was supposed to be $15.13. They only brought me $15, and felt entitled to keep the extra loose change. While the 13 cents certainly won't break me, it's the principle of the matter that they felt they could shortchange me, LITERALLY, after poor service (they didn't ever offer to refill my drink, either, so after almost 30 minutes, while I was also waiting on garlic bread, I asked for a refill on my tea). The pasta dish was tasty, but not offering a common side to a pricier menu item, plus the poor service, and not bringing me all my change has me wanting to take my business elsewhere. I'd like to add that I HAVE worked in the restaurant and catering business in the past, and I understand that things can slip through the cracks in service on a busy night. But I would NEVER have assumed I could keep any part of a customer's change. That is totally up to the customer to decide. Shame on the wait staff and/or company policy that allows this practice. read more

My honey comes to play music here and it's a really cool place to go to with great food and great service !:) the BEST mozzarella sticks that you'll find ! Not lying !! So dang good ! I will definitely be ordering them again next time we are there ! But Friday nights are for live music so don't miss it ! They also have pool tables and TVs to watch the game which is always a plus anywhere ! You should definitely check it out if you're in the area ! read more

Although this is a guy bar joint It really is good for the family and during the day. Customer service was great and accommodating. Their chicken tortilla soup was fire! And I didn't have their wings the next table to me had ordered them and the looked and smelled dee-licious It was happy hour all day on Sunday and I had the espresso frozen martini. It was tasty. Stopped in to get a bit to eat and drinks after being out at warrenton, but the manager would not let us have a McDonald's happy meal for one picky eater so lose out on a $200 bill for 6 adults or let the kid eat her meal!! You lost out. read more

This is the best food in LaGrange Made from scratch real mashed potatoes, green beans and broccoli are real and fresh. This is definitely a restaurant to stop at. There are many restaurants that we won't go back to, we will go back here. read more

Hamburger steak is my favorite! My husband enjoys a burger or the tenderloin tips every time we go. Brussel spouts are really good, we always ask for less sauce on them. My small kiddos enjoy the pizza or Mac n cheese. Service is always pretty good, I think only once we received slow service. Ambiance is nice, lots of TVs for sports. We go there more often now. I tried their garlic parm wings they were ok, just not my favorite. Everything else has been wonderful! Will be back soon for another Hamburg steak & gravy! read more

Foods been great every time I've went. Service is always decent live locally and come here often. Parking is a bit small usually have to park at Walmart and walk over the corner but it's not too far from the door as is. IDK what the food is like because when we walked in and stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes nobody came to seat us. Then we went to a table after grabbing menu ourselves and sat for a good 10 minutes and still nobody came to take our order. We watched as a girl set a big table for a group coming in I guess. It's like they were all ignoring us. We wanted burgers. Finally we gave up and left! Still nobody stopped us from leaving and said they were sorry that nobody has some to take our order, what do we want to order?? read more

We came for a regular lunch and was pleasantly surprised with a upbeat sports bar. They have everything you would want for either a relaxing lunch or a fun night out with friends with a great food selection, pool tables, multiple TVs, great bar, very nice staff and more. I was traveling from Houston to Austin and wanted a quick bite to eat. I took a chance on a sports bar in La Grange TX and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is a what you'd expect. Everyone enjoyed their food including the kids. It's some of the best brown gravy you can get it so I recommend any of the meals that it comes with. Brussel sprouts hit the spot too! Definitely will return when passing thru. read more

Surprisingly good small town option. While it's a sports bar, they have a full food menu. I met a couple of friends here for a bite on Saturday evening and went away full and happy. First of all, the service is small town friendly. They know their customers and take care of them. Our drinks never went empty. Our server made sure our orders came out quickly and correctly. And she was more than willing to help with suggestions and offering to customize our orders. My chicken strips and fries were good. Both were hot and crispy. And I was very impressed by the sweet and spicy sauce which was a great Asian style spicy sauce. My friends liked their dinners -- both the grilled chicken sandwich and the La Grange hot chicken sanwich. In short, it's one of the better small town dining options in La Grange -- and it's worth getting off of the highway if you're travelling through town. read more

I'll get straight to the point: Jay Deez is a huge upgrade from the restaurant it replaced and I'm so happy we have it! La Grange has a real lack of good, casual restaurants and this one is a great new addition. The service is great, especially considering I came in when it was packed during the dinner rush! The menu is new and updated, with a smaller menu of wing flavors that have been narrowed down to the best ones (in my opinion). We ordered an appetizer of potato skins which were a little too crispy for me, but still really yummy with bacon, ranch and chives! My boyfriend ordered mango habanero wings which he let me try & they were amazing!! My family is from Buffalo NY, home of buffalo wings and I would say Jay Deez are right up there with them! Crispy on the outside but perfectly cooked inside. I also got a chicken fried steak which had more breading than steak sadly, but other than that it was delicious! Mac and cheese was amazing, I could eat just a big plate of it as a meal Everything was delicious and the service was great!! Our waitress seemed like she had better things to do and didn't really want to be there. I ordered the Kale and Spinach Salad. I got almost all Frisée (which I can't stand) topped with a few spinach and kale leafs. I also asked for no tomatoes but still got them. I mentioned this to our blasé-attitude waitress as she took away my half-eaten salad plate. She returned with the check (before we even finished eating or asked for it) and said that my salad had been taken off the ticket. I didn't ask for that, but I was glad to not have to pay for something I hardly ate. This place is new. We ate there because we want to support local businesses. But they are gonna have to do better than this. UPDATE: I received a message from the owners of this restaurant with an apology and a promise to make things better. We love this place all the time, but brunch was insanely good!!! They serve brunch Saturday's and Sundays and it's spectacular! This is a great place to come hang out and have an ice cold beer or a mixed drink. They have a great outdoor seating area. If you are wanting to to have a nice dinner, this is the place for that as well. The atmosphere inside is great. This is my favorite go to place! Excellent service. Ok....I see the reviews of poor service from some of the servers and what not... I've been in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years... And for a farm town of nearly 5,000 people, you will most definitely meet a few young employed residents that might need a little bit of social and on the job training when being the new hot spot in town (it can be very overwhelming. BTW the owner i saw was table touching as if he were a manager...he makes sure you feel at home VERY RARE!)... That does not mean a place and their employees will not grow... The food/menu was absolutely the perfect balanced combination of comfort and elegance that lots of small towns don't ever have... On my way to Austin, finding this gem was a blessing because I'd much rather spend $22 on a double bone-in spot on pork chop with amazing atmosphere than an Applebees or chili's chain restaurant... The appetizers great, atmosphere superb, prices reasonable, menu selection to the point.... will make this the spot to visit anytime i travel west of Houston! read more

Went here opening week and ordered an amazing stacked chicken sandwhich with avocado. I was able to take all three of my young boys (who all ate mac and cheese.) The restaurant was very family friendly and had colors for the kids. My kids nearly stole all my fries they were that crisp and well temped. We had fried mushrooms which I loved and so did the kids which is unusul. Icecream for dessert was garnished with mint leaves and a blackberry and looked highclass and tasted amazing. Waitstaff was friendly and regularly asked my kids if they needed refills. Portion sizes are huge and we all had leftovers. Definitely going back and looking forward to this place sticking around. read more

I love to bring my family here. My daughter is crazy about the banana pudding pancakes they have on the weekends and the fried Oreos. The staff is always friendly to us. Friday nights are the best when they have a live band or DJ playing and yard games outside tons of TV's inside and out to watch the Astros. I definitely recommend this place for families and for getting together with a few friends for some drinks. read more

If you are on the way to Austin from Houston then you need to stop in La Grange to Jay Deez. It's on the way and you will not forget the potato skins and I love the mango habanero wings. This weekend they are have crawfish and they are tasty. read more

The brunch on Saturday and Sundays is amazing. The atmosphere of this place is great. The wings, burgers, ice cold beer and drink specials are a plus as well!! Great place to bring the family, have a date night or come for happy hour. read more
