The ladies behind the bar are a bunch of hard working females. They're busting their ass and some of the people at the bar are a bunch of losers. It's Monday Night Football and a little bit more busier than what they normally are. I had to sliders with home made fries. Alright- I was passing through with some guys that I work with and we stopped for lunch. My coworkers got burgers which was the safe bet- I mean it's a bar&grill centered around sports. This makes sense. And they all said it was good. And the service was great. So here is where things went sideways; it was cold and rainy and they have Chicken & Sausage Gumbo on the menu. And I ordered it. Do not do this. It was the worst gumbo I've ever had in my life, hands down, not kidding. The roux was burnt, the chicken was dry, there was no trinity, I got one piece of sausage and it was not seasoned well. I couldn't believe a restaurant would serve it. Went there last night for a company Christmas party. I ordered the Cajun Pasta (one of the higher priced items on the menu) only to learn that it comes with ZERO sides, not even garlic bread/toast or side salad. You get the pasta, period. Even the lower priced Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo comes with garlic bread/toast. What gives on the menu planning here? They can't even include garlic toast with a pricier pasta dish, so I ordered some garlic bread, and it never came. Never. I finally ordered it AGAIN from a different waiter. It arrived AFTER I finished my meal. And it was cheap sliced white bread, not french bread or a quality bread. THEN they charged me for it when it arrived AFTER my meal was eaten and really SHOULD have been part of the entree' in the first place. Then, I paid in cash, and my change was supposed to be $15.13. They only brought me $15, and felt entitled to keep the extra loose change. While the 13 cents certainly won't break me, it's the principle of the matter that they felt they could shortchange me, LITERALLY, after poor service (they didn't ever offer to refill my drink, either, so after almost 30 minutes, while I was also waiting on garlic bread, I asked for a refill on my tea). The pasta dish was tasty, but not offering a common side to a pricier menu item, plus the poor service, and not bringing me all my change has me wanting to take my business elsewhere. I'd like to add that I HAVE worked in the restaurant and catering business in the past, and I understand that things can slip through the cracks in service on a busy night. But I would NEVER have assumed I could keep any part of a customer's change. That is totally up to the customer to decide. Shame on the wait staff and/or company policy that allows this practice. read more

Hamburger steak is my favorite! My husband enjoys a burger or the tenderloin tips every time we go. Brussel spouts are really good, we always ask for less sauce on them. My small kiddos enjoy the pizza or Mac n cheese. Service is always pretty good, I think only once we received slow service. Ambiance is nice, lots of TVs for sports. We go there more often now. First of all, the service is small town friendly. They know their customers and take care of them. Our drinks never went empty. Our server made sure our orders came out quickly and correctly. And she was more than willing to help with suggestions and offering to customize our orders. My chicken strips and fries were good. Both were hot and crispy. And I was very impressed by the sweet and spicy sauce which was a great Asian style spicy sauce. My friends liked their dinners -- both the grilled chicken sandwich and the La Grange hot chicken sanwich. I'll get straight to the point: Jay Deez is a huge upgrade from the restaurant it replaced and I'm so happy we have it! La Grange has a real lack of good, casual restaurants and this one is a great new addition. The service is great, especially considering I came in when it was packed during the dinner rush! The menu is new and updated, with a smaller menu of wing flavors that have been narrowed down to the best ones (in my opinion). We ordered an appetizer of potato skins which were a little too crispy for me, but still really yummy with bacon, ranch and chives! My boyfriend ordered mango habanero wings which he let me try & they were amazing!! My family is from Buffalo NY, home of buffalo wings and I would say Jay Deez are right up there with them! Crispy on the outside but perfectly cooked inside. I also got a chicken fried steak which had more breading than steak sadly, but other than that it was delicious! Mac and cheese was amazing, I could eat just a big plate of it as a meal Everything was delicious and the service was great!! Our waitress seemed like she had better things to do and didn't really want to be there. I ordered the Kale and Spinach Salad. I got almost all Frisée (which I can't stand) topped with a few spinach and kale leafs. I also asked for no tomatoes but still got them. I mentioned this to our blasé-attitude waitress as she took away my half-eaten salad plate. She returned with the check (before we even finished eating or asked for it) and said that my salad had been taken off the ticket. I didn't ask for that, but I was glad to not have to pay for something I hardly ate. This place is new. We ate there because we want to support local businesses. But they are gonna have to do better than this. UPDATE: I received a message from the owners of this restaurant with an apology and a promise to make things better. Two times now ordering to-go for my family of 5 being charged 18% gratuity for to-go meal. We ordered 4 entrees, a kids meal, and 1 appetizer and were charged 18% for a tip. I typically leave a generous tip for to-go orders but the automatic 18% charge without telling you is a bit much as you then leave a tip on top of that not knowing. We enjoy the food here even though they left off one of our side items but will be more cautious on getting to go from here. read more
