I've never gotten cut by him but I've seen his work and he's legit too. These guys, Drew and James were coming into my family's restaurant back in the day when I was in my early 20's and they always tipped well, were respectful and good vibes so you know they're good people too. But I spoke to Erik and let him know Spence is on the Autism Spectrum and he was extremely patient and kind, he worked well with him and I really appreciate his excellent service & quality work. It was nice to be in the back room because it was quieter and less stimulating (Spencer has a hard time with an over stimulating environment) so it all worked out perfectly. Erik mentioned that he has several clients with autism and you can tell he's got the experience, he has a very calm & patient demeanour and that makes the world of difference for clients on the spectrum. Instead of being a good service and help to those less fortunate, it was just a sloppy and lazy job. If the haircut asked for was too complicated or just too much, they should have let me know so I didn't expect more.

I recently took my son, which was a great experience, to Jay's Barbershop. In fact, I followed up a few days layer with a Hot Towel Head Shave and Beard Trim. Another fantastic experience and here's why.... When I stepped into Jay's Barbershop, I expected a haircut, not an existential journey. But there I was, in a chair more comfortable than my understanding of cloud computing, waiting for what can only be described as a hair and face miracle. Jay doesn't just "cut" your hair; he strategically removes each strand with the precision of a Swiss watchmaker. And the shave? Let's just say my face hasn't been this smooth since I was 8 months old. I'd forgotten what my chin looked like. Frankly, I was underwhelmed and it still looks pathetic, but hey that's genetics not Jay's fault. As for the ambiance, it's like stepping into a time machine, except this one takes you to a place where people know what they're doing with scissors. The conversation in the shop is so rich with dry wit; you might mistake it for a British sitcom. I laughed exactly three times over the hour I was there - and that is a new record. In conclusion, if you're looking for a place where you can get a haircut and inadvertently reflect on all your bad life choices, Jay's Barbershop is your destination. I left looking less like a disheveled tech geek with no jaw line and more like someone who might have their life together, but really doesn't. I never write reviews, but I just got a cut here today and had to let you all know that the gentlemen here know what they're doing. Zach cut my hair, and he did a hell of a job. It's probably the best cut I've ever gotten. He was super chill and easy to talk to. At the same time, he didn't force conversation. As a quiet guy myself, I really appreciated that. One thing that was really great about Zach is that he took the time to talk to me about my hair and what I wanted, and what might work better given my hairstyle. I noticed the other guys doing that as well with their clients. To me, that shows that they really know what they're talking about, and they care about their customer's satisfaction too. The price was very affordable on top of that. These guys are awesome! read more

Coming from 2 different barbers that discontinued services with me for differing reasons, I felt homeless for a barber shop for a bit. Jay's barbershop is walkable from my apartment complex and is in a great area right by the university and residential areas. Jay is a master practitioner, he takes his time, has attention to detail, and really listens to your needs when it comes to your hair and even makes suggestions based off of his expertise.
