I hired this mobile detail service to clean the interior of my car, specifically to wash the seats. Unfortunately, this was one of the most frustrating service experiences I've had. They were late on the initial appointment and after kept rescheduling, without showing up at all. The main service I paid for -- washing the seats -- was not properly done. The stains and discoloration were still clearly visible afterward. To make matters worse, the service was overpriced for the results I received. For what I paid, I expected a thorough seat cleaning, not a surface-level job that left obvious marks behind. On top of that, I received long, over-shared explanations that felt like excuses rather than solutions. We have used Jay's Mobile Wash since September 2024 to wash our three to four cars. Jay and his helper have done a good job washing the exterior and cleaning the interior of the cars. It always amazes me how they fit the water reservoir in the back seat and the supplies in their small sedan. In the beginning we had to set some ground rules. One time, Jay texted me at 6:15 AM on the day of the appointment with a single word "good morning"-our appointment wasn't scheduled until 10 AM. He texted early again on another date at 4:24 AM, which I told him to only text me after 7 AM. To my surprise, a couple of times on separate dates, he responded to my text I sent earlier in the day at 10:02 PM and 11:59 PM. I informed Jay to only text me between the hours of 7 AM to 8 PM. In addition, the appointment times with us would usually run later than we scheduled. Luckily, we were at work, so as long as the washes were finished by closing time, we were fine. However, I can see if you are waiting for him to show up at the scheduled time, it could make some people upset to have the appointment time being pushed back. Recently, we have been unsatisfied with Jay's work. We noticed on our last two appointments that there were large sections of areas with spots. A couple of areas on the roof on two sedans and one suv were missed. When we texted Jay the photos of the issue from the latest wash, he immediately texted me that he would rewash the cars for free the following week. I'm incredibly disappointed in the lack of professionalism from this guy. After canceling on me last week due to a "car emergency," they rescheduled for today, only to no-show again. I was left wondering "where is this guy" over 2 hours after the rescheduled appointment. When I reached out, I received a long, overly personal explanation about his newborn being sick. While I sympathize as a new parent myself, I know as a business owner myself, how crucial it is to communicate professionally with clients in situations when things come up at the last minute. Basic Business Practices 101 dictates that business owner should contact all of their upcoming appointments as a courtesy in these types of situations. Instead, I was met with a rant full of personal details (that I will not share out of respect) that a business owner should never be sharing with their customers, in what seemed like an attempt to draw sympathy. Emergencies happen, but professionalism and communication are non-negotiable in business. This experience was completely unprofessional from start to finish. If you value your time and a professional attitude, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Edit in response to Jay's response: Go ahead and share the "vulgarities"!! I cursed one time with my initial text asking "what the ****ing excuse for the no-show" was. You did offer free services, but I'm not one to give multiple chances. Oh, and be sure to share the very last of the 11 texts you sent. I'm sure that will really comfort current and prospective clients of yours. And again, if you had notified me BEFORE the scheduled appointment that an emergency had taken place, I may have taken that into consideration and given you a third chance.
