However, there is one aspect of going to the Beer Garden that I ABSOLUTELY HATE, and that is bouncers frisking down visitors or asking customers to show an ID. In my opinion, that is a turnoff and unnecessary action taken, for orderly, polite adults, and makes you feel as if you are in a strip club, and thus an invasion of the person's right to privacy. I recommend, yes, but it is best to go when you want to attend a group event.

A very appropriate beer as the weather heads in it's steadily warming state for this time of year. But in actuality lagers are good anytime of the year for us. My friends and I went on a Thursday evening at 6pm. Perfect timing! Zero wait time and were immediately greeted and seated. We decided to order a bunch of apps including fried calamari, empanadas, Wings (honey siracha & pineapple teriyaki), sweet potatoes fries & nachos. EVERYTHING was good. I would order it all again without hesitation. Full of flavor and not salty. During HH their margaritas are $7 until 8pm. I went with the Mango first then following up with the Tamarind. Mother's Day in the Beer Hall-…read more We were seated at a long and narrow table (not the ones that are usually in the beer hall) next to the service door. We were shoulder to shoulder to each other. I had to straddle a table leg because of the way the table was set up. I could not get my chair under the table. There was barely any room for our plates and glasses. Even though it was a Mother's Day event, there was not a kids' menu- which makes no sense bc you know kids will be at this event! Two of our dishes had to be sent back because they were cold. It's nice that they hire the local kids and the service was good. Overall, just a bad experience. I do not think we will come back for a special holiday again.

We had a great night at the Bronx Zoo for their annual Brew at the Zoo…read more The zoo is a large outdoor venue for a this fun summer festival event with all the right touches needed to pull this off. There are many large open areas where food trucks and beer vendors from near and far can setup. There were several live bands playing in different areas as well as a DJ and dance area near the carousel (which was operational.) Each guest got a small 2 or 3 oz plastic beer mug and these were refilled by the many beer companies setup everywhere in the zoo. Each vendor had at least 2 types to try. Many IPA's some pilsners, some fruity beers and lighter ones as well. The food trucks varied from a polish kielbasa and pierogi truck to an Arthur ave pizza van with pizza oven, several hot dog trucks, burger trucks, seafood etc... the food we had was all great. We had a great time at the karaoke bar area with a live band playing songs and members of the crowd with lots of brew inspired enthusiasm signing lead on these songs. There were certainly thousands of people at this event last night but we never felt we were in a large crowd as everything was so spread out throughout the zoo. The beer and food lines moved pretty quickly. The beer was obviously paid for by the admission ticket and the food was reasonably priced. There were many clean bathrooms and port a potties so no lines again. This was a fantastic summer party and one we will enjoy returning to next year. The zoo did a great job with all the logistics.
