Our neighborhood bar! I understand it went under a redecoration lately not that you could tell. It's a dimly lit, cozy spot that gives you craft cocktail and speak easy vibes. They've got a lounge area and you can reserve it if needed for an event. When there is an event it's pretty much standing room only. But aside from that it's a perfect spot for an intimate shindig. There is a happy hour every weekday from 6pm-8pm as well as drink specials on certain nights. Boy do we make those two hours count. Their munchie menu is a treat by the time that third...fourth cocktail hits. The popcorn is like crack! Between that and the mozzarella sticks I'm surprised there is still room in my mouth for the booze. I highly reccommend their Moscow Mules during happy hour; they make their own ginger juice for it! Totally redecorated. Cozy. Dark. Some private nooks were great for conversation. Drinks were great albeit pricey. Too many TV screens confuse the decor. Bar munchies- chicken fingers tasty and generous. Fries- VERY spicy- why? Digital jukebox-a travesty as it skips back and forth between songs or cuts them off prematurely. The remodeled Liffy II is a comfortable parlor type venue well suited to conversation. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the day, when Brian is bartending, I have found it to be a good place to converse. Big comfy easy chairs and couches. There is a big screen in the parlor area, as well as several screens in the bar area. And the pool tables are a thing of the past. And now there is an enclosed porch area in front. Maybe there is a different vibe in the evening. I go during the day. They are a cocktail bar, though they do have some snack items. And my understanding is that as long as you're drinking, you can have outside food. read more

They recently underwent a renovation that made the bar so much more appealing. They modified the lighting, painted the walls with warm colors, and added new sofas with pillows to make you feel at home. The votive candles create a more relaxing atmosphere that help you kick back and relax. I noticed their newly installed outdoor seating area with a menu advertising a Mudslide cocktail and a Mojito. The fusion of Irish and Latin drinks made was very appealing to me. I walked in and sat at the bar and the bartender settled me in quickly. After having a few drinks I made my way to the section that had the sofa. I got to the know the patrons who were all locals in their mid 30s. We enjoyed a good conversation and played some billiards. I've been here 3 times and had good experiences the first two times, but yesterday an elderly gentleman at the bar charged me for tap water after paying for four pitchers of beer ($48 total). I strolled into this place (for the first time) at night with a family member for a night cap. The bartender Mindy had such a terrible, rude and very obnoxious attitude I was completely shocked she was allowed to behave that way and get away with it. Mindy was very rude and nasty with all the patrons for the entire hour I was there. Then, I and a group of about six people were still in the bar while she was closing, I was putting on my coat to leave, Mindy decided to turn the lights completely off and a patron had to push the door open to get let some light in. The bartender didn't know what was in a french martini. She seemed uneducated and really not able to figure out what was going on. It took a lot for her to figure out how to pour a glass of wine. It was quiet and a sweet area, but what isn't up at Inwood? I was let down since it was my first time out in the neighborhood. There's nothing better than a comfortable lounge on a thirsty night. Coming here a few times now, the experience has been very good. First time around was for karaoke one rainy Friday night. We had thought of going just to kill some time before going to a dance club, as its close to my GF's place and we ended up staying. It was a combination of the rain and the comfy plush old couches that line the walls to the left of the entrance. It was fairly dead when we walked in so the mic was ours for and the DJ was very accommodating. Drinks were on the average price and prepared fairly well. On another occasion the visit was just to have a calm chat with a friend, and well calm it was. Very responsive bartender, friendly and always on top of what we were drinking. With a nod the next round was ordered. Just like that. And to add to the versatility of the place... we walked in there after visiting another bar that same night, and they had free hot dogs, self service, and bingo! Come on! you gotta give them props for having such amenities as they schedule different activities each day of the week and from just plain music to karaoke. The bar is usually peppered with local regulars and that is good sight as it makes a good place to know some of the people around your neighborhood.
