Located right across the street from my hotel, (Residence Inn) and the Wegmans shopping centre, is this sprawling, beautifully maintained park; replete with swings, slides, playground equipment, benches, paved walkways, amphitheater, PETTING ZOO, and WIDE open spaces. What a great space! The park is dog friendly, and I spent over an hour there, just walking my dogs through the park, while the Misses took the baby to run and jump and play on the multiple playgrounds here. The park is WIDE open, very clean and everyone looked to be having a blast. It's a little old ladies going on walks for exercise, while people jog and children play on the swings type park.

Amos Herr Park is a 56-acre paradise thanks to a brand new children's play area called the "dream…read morepark." I came upon it today while having a meeting in Landisville and was so impressed that I had to bring my boys after school. The itself park was donated to the Township by the late Amos Herr who was a former high school teacher and coach. His ancestors were among the earliest settlers of Landisville. The new "dream park" was almost completely financed and built by the residents of East Hempfield Township. It took them 11-days to construct the playground and it opened last year. This adorable play area includes a zip line! Here are some of the other amenities: * Soccer and baseball fields * Tennis courts * Bocci court * Basketball * Volleyball courts * Restrooms * Rental Pavilion * Large, grassy fields * Benches * Water Fountain (play area) * Dog Waste Station * There are plans to build a trail.

There is a large lawn area under the shade of large mature trees and picnic tables for gatherings. Since a lot of it is rather open, I prefer not to go midday when the sun is beating down. Note that there are a LOT of steep hills, in case that's a problem for anyone in your party. We started out hanging on the wall the first night. We were really happy when we made 1 full lap on the rink. Then managed to stay out for one full song. Now, we go Friday, Saturday and Sunday. When my body is feeling well, I don't want to get off the rink. It's our happy place together. We've had our kids and grandkids come out, friends that come out, because I don't think any of them thought we would want to keep going. Now we can't wait for Friday to get here so we can start our weekend at Overlook. The wood floors are great and the rink is large. What we love the most is the people that work there and the people that come in to skate. It feels like family. The smiles, the waves and how are you? We are always amazed at the kids that make sure to say hi every time they see us. Th DJ's are great, will play a nice mix of music, of course us older girls love rock and roll. Live organ music is our favorite, it's just wonderful. We just wanted to get back into skating and now we've added a family.

There was a park for bigger dogs and one for small dogs.My babies came home and slept though the night. The other dogs were well behaved.
