However, the DDS was good so we stayed. I do not want my young child to get X-rays which has never been a problem in the past. Suddenly they won't see us without them. Despite insurance only covering them every other year they insisted they are needed every year for them to provide service. They even used pressure tactics such as "it's illegal not to", "my license requires it", etc... Any office that tries to pressure you by scaring you and flat out lying to you is not one that I'm willing to put my trust in. If you value honesty in your provider go somewhere else.

There was one major difference this time, I was referred to THIS amazing surgeon! The staff, from start to finish and front to back, are perfect. I was so nervous and miserable but after my consultation I felt much more confident. They got my prescriptions sorted out and prepped me for what to expect on the day of my surgery (1 week, a very quick turnaround). The actual surgeon is the BEST medical professional I've ever interacted with. No exaggeration. On the day of my extractions he explained everything that was going to happen and really put my mind at ease. They knocked me out so efficiently I don't remember even feeling funny, I simply woke up with everything done! Leaving, I received a take home kit with all the info I needed, an adorable penguin ice pack to use on my jaw, lip balm to help with dry lips, and a device to spray medicine or saltwater on the extraction sites. They also called the next day to check on my progress. With the promise that I could always call with questions or concerns, our business was concluded. They sold me a partial that they could never get to fit right. I went to a different dentist who found I needed two teeth pulled that the new partial hooked onto. So I now have a brand new partial that won't ever fit and need to buy another one. Aspen was so intent on selling things and not fixing what is needed.

My procedure was with Dr Tiboris. He has a WONDERFUL personality and made me feel comfortable from the moment that I met him.  He was talking me through the entire procedure as he was working, which was different and surprisingly comforting.  I had a very difficult extraction that left me with minimal discomfort.  He made sure that I had all of the information for after care and even called from his cell later that day to check on me.  He told me to call him on his personal cell if I had any issues or concerns.  You can tell that he is EXCELLENT at what he does and he genuinely cares for his patients!!  I very highly recommend him!

Then, a full year later in May 2026, I suddenly received a threatening notice claiming I owed additional fees that were never previously disclosed or itemized. The letter threatened to send the account to collections, yet provided no clear breakdown or explanation of these charges. This feels extremely unprofessional and misleading. If there were legitimate fees, they should have been communicated clearly at the time of service, not a year later with threats attached. I never received any prior notice about these supposed additional amounts. Very disappointing experience and poor billing transparency.

Dr. Latocha himself is incredibly kind and an excellent surgeon. I was shocked at how smooth everything went. I had zero pain after my procedure, barely any swelling, and was even able to go out with friends that same night. By the next day, I didn't even need pain medication. The dissolvable stitches made healing super easy, and everything healed perfectly. If you're looking for an oral surgeon, I can't recommend Dr. Latocha enough. Mostly because of the pain and possibility of receiving news that is unsettling or downright scary. So when Thanksgiving loomed around the corner and I felt some sharp pains around the back of my jaw, I instinctively knew that most likely it was time to visit my dentist and see an oral surgeon check on my wisdom teeth. Sure enough, all 4 impacted teeth needed to be removed, otherwise, my grills would be looking worse off than a loose jigsaw puzzle. I was referred to Dr. LaTocha by my dentist and a couple of friends of mine who had gone to him. Even though perhaps he might be a bit on the gruff side and somewhat scary with his remarks (sorry, I don't have perfect gums/teeth - genetics do play a part and I do brush and floss), overall, I was satisfied with the surgery results and came away f without experiencing any pain. Yes, the inside of my mouth/cheeks were torn up from the surgery and it was a much bloodier mess than I anticipated, but as a patient, I thought the overall experience was smooth. I didn't have any pain after the surgery nor did I have need to use my prescription Vicodin. The ibuprofen was sufficient. When I sensed an infection and part of my jaw was swollen, his office was quick to get me in and have an antibiotic prescribed to me. Dr. LaTocha shares offices in several locations throughout Lake County, so he is a journeyman of sorts. You just have to make sure he's at the office that you prefer, or be willing to be wherever he is. His office staff are nice enough and the facilities are well-maintained. He does accept all major insurance and does have affordable payment plans, I think, for those not insured.
