I went and was told I needed two teeth pulled on opposite sides of my mouth. I had one done and when I went back a while later was told I didn't need any others pulled and had no cavities. They sold me a partial that they could never get to fit right. I went to a different dentist who found I needed two teeth pulled that the new partial hooked onto. So I now have a brand new partial that won't ever fit and need to buy another one. Aspen was so intent on selling things and not fixing what is needed. read more

Nice enough staff, but they don't know what they are doing. I had three very different answers and quotes about getting a crown. Hygienist said put this much down to hold appointment, guy on phone said different amount down to hold appointment, then I requested office manager call back. She did not so after a week I callback and she said I'd have to pay for entire procedure before even booking an appointment. Also scheduled my six month cleaning out 8 months whey asked why they said they only have one hygienist, yet they are excepting new patients. Spoke with district manager who only made excuses for everything. Like many dentists- they have you come in for X-rays/check up before scheduling you for a routine cleaning at a later date. They were able to do my cleaning same day due to a cancelled appointment - instead of scheduling months out due to being very busy. This was extremely convenient for me and very appreciated. My son had an appointment with them today and when he arrived for the appointment, they claimed that someone called in earlier and cancelled it. That did not occur. I made an appt. for a routine exam and cleaning. They conducted the x-rays and exam, but would not perform the cleaning portion unless I agreed to their "prescribed treatment plan" which for me would have had an out of pocket charge of several hundreds of dollars, after insurance coverage. This was not for orthodontic work, nor any type of cavity work. It was for maintenance work every 3 months. I have always had my normal scheduled routine cleanings and examines with other dentists, with no out of pocket cost. I have never experienced this type of activity. Others experience may be different than mine. Just be beware of their potential selling tactics. read more

My last appointment was in 2018 where it was an xray and 1 hour and 30 minutes of sales! I didn't get the cleaning that I thought I was there for and had to reschedule that. Finally two years later I actually have the time and they tell.me I have to go through the videos and all of that again before I can schedule the cleaning and whatever else needs to be done. I said that was ridiculous and I would just go back to my previous dentist to not have to deal with that! I will never go there again, not for busy parents who have work schedules. I have been a patient at this facility for over a year. I always pre-book my cleanings and have had crowns done at this location. The staff is always wonderful but this past weekend left me with a terrible taste in my mouth (no pun intended). I started having UNBEARABLE tooth pain this past Saturday so I called the Aspen emergency line early Sunday morning after writhing in pain all night. I spoke to a woman who said an on-call dentist would call me within a half an hour. I never received a call. Then I called the office after I never heard ANYTHING all day and left a message asking them to PLEASE call me Monday morning first thing. In the message I stated that I am an established patient, I left my name, birthdate, and politely explained that this is an emergency situation and I am in tremendous pain. It is now Monday at 12:30pm and I STILL have heard nothing from Aspen. I ended up calling my Endodontist and thank god he was able to squeeze me in for a temporary today. I am canceling my cleaning appointment that I had pre-booked with Aspen and not returning to this establishment. read more

STEER CLEAR OF ASPEN DENTAL IN PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI!! 1) My 14 yr old son went in for a 7:30am cleaning, he went back himself and was only gone for 15 min came out and we left. As I was pulling out I realized she didn't even say anything to me about cavities or how he was doing! I He was not given a toothbrush, floss or toothpaste. My daughter had a cleaning appt. at a different time since they couldn't get them in together and said they hurt her a lot and were really rough. 2) I myself also go in for the first time for a cleaning and get x-rays, exam and pricey recommendations before I get a cleaning. I leave what I think is an appointment to get my teeth cleaned with paperwork recommended over $300 in treatment and not even getting my teeth cleaned. 3) My 9yr old daughter had a small fragment of tooth left hanging from her gums that needed to come out. Even though she was numb she was still scared so when she saw the pliers come out she started clenching her mouth shut. The dentist (young woman) was very impatient with her, she had no idea how to handle the situation. She crossed her arms when she didn't open her mouth wide enough, rolled her eyes at one point and told her she needed to stop crying or it was going to take longer. I did get upset and mention I would be happy to try taking her to a dentist who is able to work with kids to have the tooth removed. She knew I was upset and gave us a few minutes, my daughter calmed down and we were she was then able to get the tooth out. If you read this far, at this point I realize it's my fault I should have found a new dentist but it's just such a pain and inconvenience! 4) I finally get to make my son and daughters cleaning appointments together on the same day, no appointment for myself since I can't pay the $300 for the services they recommended from the last visit. They call the day before and have to cancel my sons appointment so only my daughter was seen. So I reschedule for TODAY at 7am, best time other than evening since we avoid missing work/school. My husband shows up at 7am. We are told they need to reschedule the oral hygienist "should have" called us to reschedule and they sent us texts to confirm. They did and not one of them mentioned a cancellation, only a request to confirm. We did get an email the day before "can't wait to see my son at 7am" Monday morning call if you have a problem. Nothing about cancelling. My husband calls me, I told him that's not acceptable I talked to the receptionist and told them they need to clean his teeth. The dentist (young woman) mentioned above comes out and try's to show my husband texts which ask for a confirmation, nothing asking to cancel as he is trying to show her the email I received 18 hrs. earlier. She rolled her eyes at him and at this point he was done! We are done, this place is a joke, the "dentist" appears to be a millennial brat who cannot take responsibility for her offices mistakes and doesn't care about her patients. I'm not confident in their skills/quality of services at this point and do not recommend this office. read more

I read the reviews and decided to go anyways so I could form my own opinion. The doctor is nice. The hygienist was nice. The rest of the staff...I'm not so sure. I spoke to the dentist about doing an implant. We scheduled a bone density scan ($200 after insurance) to be done in office with the understanding that if I was eligible for the implant I'd need to travel to Oak Creek. I agreed. Did the scan then scheduled a consult appointment to discuss eligibility, costs, etc. I planned time off of work for this appointment. Morning of the appointment I get an email that states "we need to reschedule your appointment because we have to close our office early. Someone will contact you shortly". 30 minutes later I receive an email stating "we're excited to see you at your appointment today". I go to my scheduled appointment and the office is open. I check in and the tel me to have a seat. 10 minutes later they call me back up to the desk to tell me that they don't do the consults in that office. Stated they tried calling and texting me. I received no communication from them regarding this. Now I'm out $200 and 4 hours of PTO. I've cancelled all future appointments with them for myself and my children. My time and money are valuable to me. I'll give them both to someone who values them as much as I do. read more

All of the staff has been extremely wonderful!! My son is 6 and his appointments have been quick and mostly painless. I need my first cleaning at this location and that has been a little trying to schedule around my work schedule but they are def working with me. If I could give 0 stars I would. My son went to Aspen dental in Kenosha. He had 3 cavities. They drilled 3 holes into 3 teeth but only filled 2 of them! How they could forget a cavity in the procedure is beyond me. A few weeks later he ended up with a lot of pain in his tooth and when he went back that is what he found out. I would never ever go here. I cannot believe they are even in business. I know they are an HMO dental practice, but I would rather pay more then have bad dental service on my teeth. I scheduled a new patient appointment for my 8 year old. After just a few minutes in the chair they told me she needed a cavity filled and they couldn't do that for her, she'd have to be referred to a pediatric dentist. My daughter was already worried about having to see a new dentist, then to find out she needs to go somewhere else! They should not schedule kids for cleanings and check ups without informing the parents that they are unable to take care of anything beyond routine cleaning. Not only do I have to deal with prepping my daughter to see her second new dentist in a month, I have to deal with my insurance company and find out how I can try to get them to cover two new patient visits in a month! read more

Bait and switch. Financial consultant told me she could give me a better deal than insurance, but her quote ended up twice the cost the insurance said it should be, and she added the "free" xrays into the cost!! The dentist missed a crack in one tooth in the full mouth xrays. It split two days later, and she ignored an infected root in a molar that was obviously turning into a cyst. Another dentist told me a first year student could see it!!! Poor care. They just want your money. read more

Ok i was in pain and needed either a root canal or pulled, so I called on Monday got Wednesday appointment, Worst place ever , staff was friendly, place was very clean took x-rays then waited 25 minutes for the dentist, he came in took a look said a few things about what I needed to fix then walked away , waited another 15 minutes and a young man walked me into his office and starting telling it was 2,400 $ for a root canal but not even on the tooth I was visiting him for , so I asked well how about the tooth I'm here for he said it was going to be $477.00 to pull that tooth and the earliest appointment would be April 8th are you kidding me , that place is a total rip off and a joke so if your not wanting to waste your time stay out of there ... Office was clean. Staff was friendly & attentive. The financial aspect was broken down to me & all of my questions were answered. The first appointment is filling out paperwork & xrays, which provides better treatment but can be annoying for some. Doctor & staff were awesome with my nephew who tagged a long with me! Just wanted to say how disappointed I have been with this office. Although everyone was friendly we have had four appointments (collectively between my husband, son and I) cancelled because someone was sick. After my initial appointment I was told I needed some extractions and a bridge. But when I went to schedule it they couldn't do ANY of the work for 5 months because their oral surgeon is on maternity leave without any replacement. We will NOT be returning to this dentist or company at all. Except for a refund for the cleaning we paid for ahead of time that they haven't been able to schedule for us. read more

The dental staff is great. The office staff and processes are lacking. I received 6 calls, 1 text and 1 email to confirm my appointment. Far too much communication. Even worse, the day of my appointment the hygienist was ill and the office called my husband to cancel!!!! Since he cannot use his phone during the day, not that he would have known what they were talking about anyway, I didn't know my appointment was cancelled until AFTER leaving work early and arriving to find I had to reschedule. And even though they told me when I started going there evening appointments were not an issue, I could not get one which is why I had to leave work. One of the worst dental experiences ever! Aspen Dental in Pleasant Prairie, WI got me an appointment relatively quick. However, full payment was requested up front for deep cleaning, electric toothbrush and fluoride before they would schedule my appointment. I reluctantly paid in full and had my teeth cleaned on March 30th. After my cleaning I was told they did not have my toothbrush, mouth rinse or paste available on site, and someone would call in a few days for me to pick the items up. I wasn't too happy, as I thought these items would be available after the cleaning, but what could I even say, my mouth was totally numb. No one called to follow up regarding the electric toothbrush, rinse or paste. 6 days AFTER the cleaning, I called and requested a refund for the missing toothbrush, rinse and paste. The receptionist found a toothbrush at another site for me to pick up the morning....7 days after my cleaning. During the cleaning, I let the hygienist know that she was digging too close to a filling in my front two teeth. She said to calm down that she was only cleaning around the filling. Much to my dismay, she has destroyed the filling. I called to let the office know and asked for an urgent appointment to get this fixed. Today is Thursday, and they told me I can't come in today, they only have 1 dentist on staff tomorrow and I can come in on TUESDAY! I would not recommend this establishment to any one. Very unhappy with my dental experience at this place and wish I'd never excepted the referral from my neighbor! I now need to find an urgent dental facility that will fix the damage caused by Aspen Dental. I am also seeking legal advice. read more

I came to Aspen for a second opinion after receiving a long list of dental repairs from a different local dentist and I sure am glad I did. I will not be returning to this office. I have been a patient at this office for over two years. The staff have a high turnover rate. Twice I have been in for my six month cleaning and check up, and not been seen by the dentist. The excuse one time was the dentist was too busy, the second time no reason was offered. My insurance was billed for a full exam to include the fee of the dentist. MetLife will be looking into this practice. The technician was great, I have no complaints about her. Another issue is being contacted three times to confirm my appointment. E-mail, Text and a phone call. Once I have confirmed please leave me alone! I had referred family and friends is the past, my mother has had three separate visits and has not been happy. She will not be returning as well. read more

I've had numerous issues with this dental office, starting with it's office management... They are extremely useless! The initial checkup appointment I set up with them was for 2 months in the future (thus they seem very booked up). It turns out the appointment was only for an x-ray and review, they didn't perform a cleaning. You have to make a special request for both to be done at the same appointments! (I've never heard of that before). I didn't have to wait 2 hours like other people commenting here, but I did have to wait for 90 MINUTES! I was under the impression that they were wanting to suck every penny out of me, so they told me a bunch of "small" procedures need to be done. I made an appointment for 6 months out (for both cleaning and check-up), and I got a call just barely telling me that my appointment had been cancelled due to a "schedule change" that occurred in February and I needed to reschedule. The next time available that met my needs was 5 more months out. They are very unwilling to help out the customer! I've now switched dentist offices. If at all possible, I recommend going to another dental office, even if it's many miles away! This office is not worth the time nor hassle! read more

This review is based on the business office only. Unfortunately I'll never meet the actual doctors because the business manager doesn't run that office in a way I'd ever participate in. Today after my wife and I both had a "check up" with X-rays and visual exams, we were escorted to the business office-behind closed doors and presented with out treatment plans. I joked walking in, it felt like the finance office of a car dealership. We were then shown a price for my wife's treatment. "You guys have great insurance" he told us. "The cost is around $1600 and you'll only have to pay $800" there was just a price on paper. No breakdown, no explanation. I asked what the price includes, he said, this will cover your next 3 visits, all treatment and follow up. Basically a complete course of action based on what was noted by the dental hygienist. "Ok" I said. But what's included?? I had to ask a few times to get an actual breakdown. Turns out my wife's total treatment plan included a $130 electric tooth brush, $35 mouthwash, and a cancer screening we specifically said we didn't want. At this point, I'm very upset. The fact this office would hide a $130 new toothbrush into a treatment plan estimate is beyond me. I've never felt so tricked. Be aware if you go to this office. You must pay upfront before they will schedule your appointment, and ask for a detailed list of charges. Almost all the charges we received were not covered by our insurance. If you have "deep pockets" in your teeth, be prepared to pay. Not an honest place. read more

This is the WORST place for dental services in Kenosha. I was just in to bring my aunt for her appointment and the staff made us wait over 2 hours. We asked repeatedly what time she would be seen and we were met with EXTREMELY RUDE staff that either ignored us or said they would return to speak with us and then didn't. After 2 hours we finally got a response of "we don't know how long the delay is", I finally just sat down and comforted my elderly aunt who was very nervous about having a procedure that day. I was also upset to learn that when she was brought back, the staff did not introduce themselves or explain their procedures. It's a shame that this office treats their patients so badly. I work in several organizations in the community, and I plan to spread the word that unless you want to be treated like a second rate citizen, stay far away from this office. read more

UPDATE 2: so, we changed our insurance coverage to have more freedom to choose our dentist because we were so dissatisfied with the Aspen office. I set up a cleaning appointment 6 months ago for today and, after cancelling the appointment last week, received a call 30 minutes before the appointment time to tell me they were cancelling the appointment. So this presents two issues that further added to my displeasure: 1) they obviously didn't record my cancellation and 2) they cancelled ANOTHER appointment at the last minute!!!! My husband went to Aspen Dental to have his last four top teeth pulled. Then, he spent $1,800 to have a healing plate (that didn't fit well at all), and later an original denture constructed. After a ridiculous 7-month wait, it was finally time for him to get his original denture. Last Wednesday, when he was supposed to get them done, they had to take more impressions. Then, when we came to pick them up the Wednesday after that, they made a mistake in and lost the impressions. My husband demanded a refund, but found out that he will only get between $300-800 back, and the new manager who "understood his frustration" still hasn't called with any new information, and it is days later. Don't ever go to this location for false teeth, or you'll be drinking your tacos on "Taco Tuesday." read more

Aspen Dental Pleasant Prairie, worse dental experience. I called to make an appointment for a cleaning. First visit was 2 hours of x-rays, hygienist, dentist, and billing payment center...for a cleaning??? You pay upfront and given a warning your insurance might not pay all. I was told I needed periodontal cleaning. cost extra of course. I paid 150 upfront (I do have insurance) then received a bill for 142.00; called and they corrected. My appointment after initial consult was 30 days later. My hygienist talked the whole time negatively towards her husband, kid and home life (ugh). Then a month later I received a bill for 135.00 because I had extensive cleaning. I called to have codes adjusted and resubmitted. Received the same bill the next month. Caution if you ever have to make payment arrangements ahead of time for a cleaning when you have insurance you are being overcharged. Will not go back to a chain dentist again. read more
