I moved to Danbury last summer from Westchester, and had previously belonged to New York Sports Club. When their spin schedule no longer fit with my work schedule, I decided to give Prime Time Fitness a try. My mother had recently joined, so I went with her as a guest to see if I liked it before joining. The spin classes are okay - not the greatest music selection and a lot of the bikes are unstable and feel very old. The yoga class was a complete joke. I've never in my life done yoga in a brightly lit room led by someone who seemed as though he was making up the sequences as he went along. It was more of a stretching/toning class coined as yoga. I figured I would still use the gym if only for the spin class. However, the class instructors don't pick the greatest music, which is a big problem for me. Moreover, there are no towels and no water fountains in this gym. I've never before seen that. For $70 a month, I expect much more. When I signed up, I told the person I met with that I was joining this gym primarily because there is no contract involved like there is at New York Sports Club. He didn't tell me at the time that there is, in fact, a stipulation that you need to make 12 payments before you are allowed to cancel, or else pay a $200 early termination fee. I didn't learn of this until I cancelled this week. Save your money and go somewhere else - don't use this gym until they improve their standards.

But FWIW, I don't feel like he's advancing because were paying dues or because he's simply showing up. I feel like he's advancing because he's achieving the goals his instructor sets out for him, and he takes it very seriously. I should say, there's also a certain level of fun built into it as well. Mark has a great sense of humor, and twice now we've taken advantage of Friday night Kids Night Out, where there's a ton of kids, and they have a lot of fun. It's a great mix and I would highly recommend it. I'm puzzled by the 2 negative reviews... I'm not sure they are at all reflective of SSDS. Certainly not the one in Keene.
