Everyone who works the front desk is excited to see you and are genuinely happy to have you in the studio. Next, as you walk further into the studio (if you can get passed the super cute boutique), you will find the most supportive instructors! Every single teacher is the epitome of professional. They go out of their way to learn your name, understand your limitations and help you push beyond them. It is a challenging work out and you will leave sore but you will also leave with a feeling of accomplishment and self love. The PBMK community makes sure of that! I've never joined a fitness studio like this one- it's certainly one of a kind filled with the most down to Earth clients and teachers who all care about one another.

The studio is very clean and spacious and feels pretty welcoming. The class was pretty fast-based and upbeat and you get a good burn. However, I'm not sure that it would be the best choice for someone who is brand new to barre. Though the teacher did observe everyone's form and corrected where required, I do feel like some of the movements were unclear or confusing.

When you are really old and not in the best of shape (although I have always been athletic) it can be intimidating and depressing to show up at a studio filled with young people who look like goddesses, but from the very first class I felt welcomed and more importantly the instructors didn't think I was nuts. Barre is hard, very confusing at first and so fast, but good news, just about the time, I am ready to give up the class is over. The instructors make it all possible. They never let you doubt you can do it and improve. Since I started in October, going six days a week, I have lost ten pounds, but more importantly, I am seeing real results which keep me going. Ashley, the owner, runs a terrific studio with all kinds of thoughtful touches, like a charging station and a great selection of clothes and the ever-critical socks. Ashley heads up a group of instructors about whom I can't say enough. My daughter who turned me on to Barre in DC plans her workouts around specific teachers she likes, avoiding those she doesn't like as much. At Pure Barre Greenwich, the instructors are all equally good, each with differences, but never a disappointment. I give Pure Baree five stars and urge anyone in the Greenwich area to give it a try. I would recommend that you take a few classes back to back to get the hang of the system which will help you get into the groove and keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

There was 20+ people in the class and it was crowded and felt very superficial. Not once did I hear a welcome. It was my first time and as I walked into the workout room I saw people had weights in front of them, as a first timer | thought maybe there were more people than planned so I sat on the floor with nothing in front of me. As more people arrived, they walked in with weights. I soon realized I had to grab my own. There was no one greeting or instructing us with this. The workouts were fine and the instructor was average. There are much better locations for barre including Core Barre Studio in Newington which l attended for the first time just the day before this class. I wouldn't recommend this studio.

My doctor recommended Pure Barre. I'm so glad that he did. I went for a while a couple of years ago and then I stopped. I'm not exactly sure why but I started back and I'm happy about it. I got a free class because I am a first time pure barre member so I was entitled to get a weekly pass to take classes free for a week. I am a mom of a toddler and I work full time so chances are Saturday's class is the only one I'll get to before the pass expires. I loved my experience here. I can't really afford to pay membership but I can definitely take a class once in awhile for the $25 with my friend so I will probably be popping in once in awhile to take classes when my friend and I both have a chance or if I am able to go to one myself. They have amazingly cute work out clothes and pure barre grip socks for sale but unless you can get something from the sale rack it's a bit pricey. I will probably cave in one day and buy a pair of grip socks when I attend a class. My friend and I checked out the sale rack after the class was over and I bought a shirt that was on sale for $20. It was XS but it ran big and was definitely vanity sized so for my 147 pound body I was happy to fit into an XS something which I sometimes do when I wear lularoe! So I got a free class but pure barre still made almost the price of the class off me because I bought the shirt. The class was amazing the instructor I think her name was Caitlin (I most likely spelled it wrong) was so nice. She corrected my form without making me feel embarrassed. Besides the instructor there were two other pure barre teachers in the class so you were also able to watch them while taking the class. Everyone in the studio was so sweet and friendly. It was definitely a positive environment to work out in. I was expecting people to be a little snobby because pure barre is known to be a rich lady's work out but everyone was pretty nice. I will be back again for classes once in awhile and if I fall into money I'll be buying monthly memberships here I love pure barre! Seems like classes are typically small anyway which is nice for personal attention. It was my first ever barre class and she was great to make sure I was getting the movements right and showing me possible modifications. She was so nice and with a warm attitude and it was a pleasant experience and I definitely felt like I got a good workout. Otherwise the studio was very clean, with ample parking when I went.

Anyway, I have zero coordination skills and I'm also not the most flexible person in the world, but I certainly workout. I was once often found at HIT, Boxing, and many other classes on a near daily basis at The Edge...That being said, that gym is in Norwalk and I live in Stamford now, so it isn't the most convenient anymore, so I wanted to try something different. My friend, a Barre addict and success story, recommended I come check out a class with her... Obviously, I was thinking, how hard could this actually be? I'm just hanging on a barre for an hour and doing some weight curls. Honestly, the workout is like nothing I have ever done before, and has me using muscles I didn't even realize were there. The shaking is the real deal, and I love it. I also love only wearing socks when I workout :) Thus far I have taken classes with Stephanie and Emily, who are both excellent. I am just finishing up my month of unlimited classes, and will absolutely be purchasing more.
