My email stated going forward we will only communicate via email as text messages are not good documentation for a $3K project (it is what he gave me without seeing the project). A week has past and no response. I had another very bad experience last year with another concrete person and Ramos seemed to follow the same path, so I am backing off. The $3K did not include materials. It is not a big job, and I have done this myself in past homes. As you can see in his response below that he never intended to follow-up yet lead me to believe he would send an estimate and to send him pictures. Why say that with no intention to follow-up. amazing how a negative review gets immediate attention.

Alex was very responsive throughout the planning and execution process, and even oversaw the entire installation. His crew were dedicated and skilled workers who were very kind. Scope of the project included covering an existing concrete slab. Alex made sure to add 3-4 inch rebar dowels every 24 inches and wire mesh to give the new layer something finer to hold on to, in addition to the binding agent for a more firm fusion. We also paid extra for the 3,500 PSI rated concrete given the Texas heat. Further, he extended the sides of our driveway, replacing the paver stone and gravel with level concrete. This also included fixing part of the walkway that had been pushed up by Live Oak roots, which was a tripping hazard, and now forming a smooth transition. Alex was also great when it came to pricing. He was very transparent, and me not being a concrete guy, asked a good friend who's been a general contractor for 30+ years to review the proposal and methods, and follow the work, all of which he said was done expertly. They didn't pull the necessary permits so consequently we were shut down by the city. After attempt to contact Ernesto the owner many times to fix the situation, none of our calls were returned. We hired a new GC to fix and finish the job, only to find out that in addition to faulty electrical and HVAC work, the mini splits were purchased outside of the US and not compliant. We've already paid the new GC $12,000 to fix and will now be more expense to replace the useless mini splits.

Arturo was quick to come to my house for an assessment and then, once contracted, was able to begin the job almost immediately. The contract said "Remove old cement cap and replace with new masonry that drains the water away. Fix brick flashing and re-grout all joints to prevent water from coming in the house." His fee was $2800., which unfortunately I paid after his first (and only) visit. He did repair the chimney cap, however photos taken from State Farm after the fact reveal shoddy cement work on the cap and much residue left on the chimney itself. Nothing was done to fix the brick flashing or re-grout all joints. I contacted Arturo several times (voice mails and texts) for him to come complete the job he started. He either failed to reply (multiple times) or came up with an excuse why he didn't come after telling me he would be at my house on a certain day. (two times). I would never use his services again, or recommend him to others.

Kellye came out to our house even though it's an hour from where she is as soon as she could, took measurements and answered all the questions that we had at the time and listened carefully to what we wanted.
