I originally contacted a competitor company in Lakewood whose owner was very rude, discourteous and disinterested. He did however send out a pleasant serviceman who determined that our ac would likely need a new motor to get it working and suggested that due to the expense of a motor replacement I might be better served investing that money into a new AC. That made sense but it had worked fine until recently so I chose to get a second opinion. After my poor experience I chose not to use the Lakewood company any further. Several friends who are long term, satisfied customers, highly recommended Bay Heating and Air Conditioning after I told them about my previous experience. So I called the people at Bay who were very courteous and professional and they scheduled their tech Marty to came out within a few days. Marty was absolutely AMAZING and for the mere price of a service call, he diligently repaired our AC. It was not an easy fix! Although I am planning on purchasing a new air conditioner and furnace in the near future, Marty enabled us to get by for awhile until we're in a better position financially to make the purchase. Marty is an "Air Conditioner Whisperer"!!! Because of Marty's exceptional knowledge, determination and expertise he saved us a great deal of money. It would only be $39 if I needed a part. Within 30 minutes and a run out to his van ,the tech said it would be $380 in total. I was in a position where I needed heat. It took 2 minutes to install a $12 part which I bought at a appliance store the next day for a spare. I tried calling the next day to talk to someone about their price my calls were not taken, nor returned. Ide hate to see what they would charge for a $24 part from a appliance store. Highway robbery. I do NOT recommend this company.

He said the a/c portion was filled with oil and had lost all the refrigerant. Waited 6 days for them to turn estimate into the home warranty company. By this time it is 30 degrees at night and I have no heat because it is a combo unit. Warranty company denied claim because the estimate said they could not diagnose it because it was too cold out to run it. What? You can't run a unit filled with oil and with no refrigerant in it. Had to call another company that came out the same day that confirmed the unit was filled with oil and the compressor was shot. He didn't need to run it. Had an estimate the next day.

The owner claimed that it was because and air filter was not replaced. A subsequent professional from Gallagher Heating and Cooling was called and determined that was not the case. During the time when our furnace was inoperable at the end of 2016, the repair professional broke a casing on the filter housing. At the time, he said he would call within two weeks to replace the casing. A call never came. When my husband called him, he changed his story and said he never broke the casing and that if we wanted a new one, we would have to pay. When we questioned this scenario he became irate and told us to find another contractor. To sum up, this contractor is duplicitous and is not concerned with stellar customer service. The owner only gets two stars because he was kind to my children.

After moving into my new property and having my boiler system maintained there was a flood due to many system failures on that boiler that the service tech didn't correct. Not only was there no accountability but I was charged an egregious amount to fix these issues and when given the opportunity to correct this for a long time client due to their error, they chose not to. Unfortunately loyalty has not been valued here and so my business will be taken elsewhere.
