Ozzie and his crew had to totally replace the entire first system of two units located in both the attic and outside. Evan had to check the entire second system of two units two days later located both inside the attic and outside to determine both those units were working properly the day the Canadian wildfire smoke enveloped our area. Did not feel pressured or forced to decide on the spot. Also discussed long term plan to replace whole system and what that would look like. We had an issue with our toilet. I was given a quote of 800 dollars to fix the toilet and 1000 dollars to replace the toilet. After the toilet had been replaced. I priced the toilet at toto plumbing supply and the cost of the toilet was less than 400 dollars. The plumbers were at my home for 2hrs and 5 minutes. The work was done properly and the workers were pleasant and professional; however, my wife and I felt the plumbers were more interested in generating income than having a longterm relationship with a satisfied customer. The charge to replace the toilet was about 300 dollars per hour. We felt that the fee was excessive. read more

WARNING!! The below regarding women and elderly/inexperienced customers should be taken seriously. Sorry, but someone needs to call #Kobella out on what they are saying in response to these posts. You simply aren't telling the truth. You have clearly become very adept at controlling your online image, but the way you conduct business in real life is much different. People should know. Below @Kobella responds to a complaints saying that "technicians are trained to clearly explain recommended repairs, obtain approval before any work begins, and ensure customers understand the scope, labor, and materials involved". That's false. If they are able to spot something else in your house that they can convince your elderly parent or wife into paying for while they are on the same service call, they will. And they will overcharge them if they can get away with it. Then, when people post their experience, they respond with this pre-canned response about "explaining" and "obtaining approval". Telling an unsuspecting and potentially nieve customer that bad things will happen to their house if this doesn't get fix right away - isn't "explaining" its manipulating. Scaring that person into signing an understated quote then charging them 40% more, isn't "obtaining approval" - that's intimidation and coercion. Your technicians do it, you know and approve/encourage the fact that they do it. Having a social media manager get on google and provide polished language that dances around the issue doesn't nullify your unethical business practices. An honest and ethical technician points out the problem, asks if there is someone that customer could discuss the problem with that can verify the issue, and then says "If you liked the work I did for you today, I love to come back and fix it for you". That's what responsible service repair sounds like in practice. You don't do that. As well - Kobella should stop posting online to "Please contact our management team directly at (440) 729-2099". The operator will not let you speak directly to anyone in management nor will management reach back out if you ask. I called 4 times, two days later I received a voicemail and haven't been able to get a call back since - again, you aren't telling the truth. And again, I'm sure that the social media manager is going to write some comment below about how sorry they are that "we haven't been able to connect" - the truth is that you aren't trying to connect. You don't want your technicians to stop up-selling to vulnerable clients that you can squeeze more money out of. You want to put all of your efforts into a polished online reviews/responses to mitigate your unethical business practices. BUYER BEWARE! This company gave me an estimate of $6,929 for repairs on a 3 year old home including a $3,518 to "fix" a furnace install. Two Kobella techs were involved, a plumbing tech and a HVAC tech. Both are obviously trained and incentivized on how many services they sell. A nervous house buyer back out of buying their dream home solely due to these estimates. In subsequent conversations with the builder and furnace installer the Kobella recommendations were debunked. The house passed 2 inspections by licensed inspectors. Accordingly, the "repairs" were never performed. The house eventually sold for $5,000 less so this company cost me $5,000 and a lot of heartache. Unscrupulous business practices can (and did) lead to unforeseen damage to others. I see a pattern from other reviews. I made an effort to settle with Kobella for a nominal amount but "management" declined. This business is shady from the top down. If you have options, take them. I have a lot of experience buying and selling houses and contracting for plumbing and HVAC services. Fortunately there are very few who are all about a money grab. Beware of this company! My elderly mother was having problems with her well water. Kobella came out because she couldn't get ahold of her usual plumber. A few weeks later, I found out that they had installed an extensive high end filtration system in her house. To the tune of $15,000.00. They were all too happy to have my mother (an 80 year old former elementary school teacher with cognitive impairment) sign up for a new loan on the spot to cover the costs. When I called Kobella to find out more and how this could have happened, they said that they sat with my mother for over an hour explaining the system. My response was that that amount of time should have made them aware that she didn't understand what was being installed and why (let alone the costs). When I reviewed the invoice it was staggering...$3,500 for a water heater! Insane! I called Mike to complain and to see if they could discount the cost seeing that they oversold my geriatric mother on a system she didn't need or could afford. $200.00 for a toilet seat? I have no objection to profit, but I do have a serious objection to a $200 toilet seat, even if it's gold-plated! Yet, when I confronted the office about the price, I heard the same old excuses about vehicles, insurance, etc., which all businesses have operating and HR costs; that is the cost of doing business. In this case, my toilet stopped working properly, so I had the guts replaced and while I was at it, had the toilet seat replaced. The components likewise were $200. If you price them in a hardware store, you find a different price structure, called liveable. I have physical conditions that limit my ability to diy any longer, so I was stuck. At age 75, I'm not in bad shape, but not the same as I once was. This company, however, had no problem charging me outrageous prices plus had little difficulty rationalizing as to why. They believe that extra profit is more important than me being able to take care of my necessities. Let's take a look at this. Living in a townhouse with my wife and me on a fixed income, I doubt the owner shares my lifestyle in such confined surroundings. Since the weather tragedies of 2023, we have heard the same story from every vendor, store and owner in the country about increasing costs; I get it. I am on a fixed income, remember?? By now, I believe most of us realize this to be the same pattern of taking advantage and milking a story forever. Along with my other doubt (above), I doubt that transportation and all the other woes we have heard are as dire as they once were; yet. prices keep escalating. I always try to be cooperative when dealing with contractors because I'm aware of too many frivolous complaints, nowadays. So, when I was quoted the price, compared to a new toilet of approximately $900 I agreed, after I mentioned my concern of the price; obviously, the tech gave the customary justifications. It didn't hit home until I saw the bill on his mobile unit. As I said, a worker deserves his pay, but these ethics are lost to me. It seems that the current business model is "If not you, somebody else will buy from me. I don't need your repeat business, so on your way." By charging me this type of cost, they are telling me that their 'piggy-backed' profit is more important than me being able to meet my needs. I have used Kobella a few times for standard maintenance on my HVAC units. Naturally, they were the first company I called when my furnace went out in December. They had an estimator there the next work day and he was able to quote me on three different systems. The first thing that struck me as odd was that all quotes involved replacing the electrical panel to the outdoor unit. When I asked why this was needed, the estimator started acting squirmy and said, "that is just what we do." I spent the next couple days shopping around for contractors and they were all coming in quite a bit cheaper than the Kobella quotes; to the tune of 50% less. So far this is all natural in the business world and not really cause for alarm. However, the reason I am compelled to write this review is what happened next. I was catching up on emails and noticed that Kobella sent me a link to a website that calculated the "true" cost of replacing the HVAC system. When I used this website, it's estimate also came in at nearly 50% of the Kobella quote. I reiterate, Kobella's own recommendation for the cost of a new system is HALF of what they wanted to charge for my home. When I wrote to the estimator about this and directed him to the website he wrote me back and offered to take over $3700 off of the job. The estimate went from $12,721.90 to $9,000.0 How much padding could be in the quote for $3,700 to be waived after only one email? I see the owner of the company on Yelp defending his prices by saying they do the work well and cross all the t's and dot all the i's. If this were true, the estimator would not have needed to give me a power point presentation before the quote to butter me up. Yes, that man pulled out a tablet and gave me a slide show about how great Kobella is right on my kitchen table. In my field results speak for themselves and the slideshows are bells and whistles to distract you from what is really going on. Even assuming Kobella is the greatest HVAC contractor in the state, it still doesn't make up for the fact that they will try to sell you a job which such a cushion that they can profitably take $3,700 off of the initial estimate. After dealing with a few other contractors, the experience with Kobella felt insulting. Take my advice, do not waste your time calling this company. Mike read more

The young man that came and worked on the problem was professional and his customer service skills were A plus. We just had Kobella come out to replace our 29 year old furnace and air conditioner. They also replaced our humidifier, whole house air filter and installed a programmable thermostat. They were on time and sent a good sized crew. Everyone was personable, efficient, clean and capable. They split up the tasks and went to work. When they were done, they went over operation and maintenance and answered all our questions. They also cleaned up very well . Overall a good experience and a good choice of an HVAC provider. This work was just completed today so we have no long term feedback yet. read more

Hello, I called this morning and spoke with HVAC Mgr ,I believe, and the service I paid $280 was to be Nozzle,Electrode check, CO2 check, Oil compression, and a cleaning. There was no clean outs on my furnace, so the burner assembly would have to be removed to get into the chamber to clean Approx 5 bolts. This was not done. The Heat Exchanger was checked and found to have a crack in it. The technician then asked me several times if I wanted a quote on new furnace ect... I advised the technician I had a warranty for the heat exchanger through Lews. I liked the technician and seems like he had lots of knowledge. I just do not feel it was worth the $280 I paid. I also had an oil tank installed and paid approx $1050. I asked HVAC MGR if that was lowest price, he claimed he was making a small amount.It only took them 2 hours to do. I also supplied all of the parts accept the line. Even if they were paying both Techs $50 an hour. Total $200, $20 for gas..ect..I just have a hard time believing this. I believe the service I received today was $50 high due to the lack of cleaning and my online review will reflect this on Google ect. I agree with Mike M on his review. We had an issue with our hot water heater the other night. Called and Mike was able to come out the following morning. We needed an entirely new tank. (Merry Christmas, right?!) Mike was very professional, he was on time and made sure to call 30 minutes before arriving. We did find out that our old tank was covered under the manufacturer warranty, so it was free to replace. However!! The cost of labor was a bit on the ridiculous side. The tank itself was only $458 and we paid almost $700 in labor to have it installed. I'm grateful, but, Wowza! Needless to say, I got a new hot water heater for Christmas. All in all, I'm happy with the service provided. I'd use them again. read more

Second time I had to call these guys for my plumbing emergencies in the last 2 years and they were fantastic! So I woke up on my Saturday morning to a broken shower valve and LUCKY ME we couldn't turn the shower off! So I called Kobella because I'm not a plumber and Lisa wasn't making me feel good (She was very polite and friendly). She was telling me "I don't know dude its Saturday and its very busy, you might have to wait for Monday" (i'm putting what she said in my own words, she was very professional). I was like, "oh no!" because the only way to turn off the shower was to cut the water off for the whole house. So Lisa said "let me see and i will call you". Lisa called me 10 minutes later... Skip to the end...I called at 10.30am they were at my house by 11.30am and the problem was solved by 12.15pm! Awesome! I know what Lisa was doing, 'under promise then over deliver' and it worked perfectly! These guys are the best DO NOT call anyone else, they are fast, and professional like nothing I have seen before in a Plumbing company! My first choice every time!! I would give Kobella negative stars if I could. They replaced sewer pipes in our slab house. The work took longer than expected and our home was a disaster after- dirt everywhere, broken bathroom light, multiple large dings/dents in the walls, vent covers missing. To make matters worse, really worse, they littered asbestos ALL throughout our home and didn't even acknowledge it or inform us. We only found out about the asbestos when a cleaning company came to clean up the mess Kobella left behind. This was after we had already returned to the house following Kobella's work. We were displaced from our home for an extended period of time due to the asbestos, with a premature infant daughter and while on maternity leave. We have spent a massive amount on getting our home professionally abated/cleaned by an environmental company and our belongings professionally cleaned or disposed of/replaced due to asbestos. Kobella is taking zero responsibility for this. We have tried to reach out to them multiple times to rectify the issues, but they refuse to acknowledge us. read more

My dishwasher clogged and after a quick search on Yelp, I came up with Kobella Pluming. Their hours are fantastic!!! Open early and Lisa was so friendly and helpful. I set up a Saturday appointment, at no additional fee, which is a huge help for working families who need a professional!! I was even able to purchase a voucher through Yelp, which took some of the sting out of my plumbing accident!! Shortly after speaking with Lisa, I received a conformation email and received another email Saturday morning, reminding me of my appointment. I had to add a review for Kobella after the great service I received today. I had a clogged drain - a VERY clogged drain as it turns out. Jeremy and Ed arrived within the scheduled time; they phoned 30 minutes ahead of arrival. These were two very polite and professional gentlemen. They checked out the drain, gave me an estimate and went right to work. Problem was a very deep clog in my pipes. After snaking the drain, Jeremy took the time to make sure that he ran water long enough to ensure it drained correctly. He also made sure to put everything back under my sink. So Monday afternoon called to see if they could come out as soon as possible (yes, I know I was asking a lot!). Lisa, who handles the calls, said they were slammed, but she would try to move non immediate action appointments around, and get me in. 5 minutes later she called back and said she could have someone here on Tuesday, before Noon! No way I thought, and Yes way they did!! Crew showed up at 10:30 and jumped right in. Found the problem, which was something that was on going, unbeknownst to me. Set up a plan of attack and got to work! Less than 2 hrs later, the house is starting to cool. Anthony and his partner were tremendous! I called Kobella last fall when my blower quit running. The tech that came forced my furnace to run for 20 or more minutes without a working blower causing the drain pan for the ac to melt. The tech had no desire to fix the blower module. He told me they don't make the module for my furnace anymore. He kept telling me my furnace was too big for my house and needed to be replaced. Even when asking about just fixing it he wanted nothing to do with it. I called another company and they came right out and fixed the blower without any issues. read more

I have Kobella do preventive maintenance on my furnace and air conditioning. When they did my air conditioning, they recommended that that I have coolant added because it seemed a little low. When we had several hot days in a row in Chardon, I noticed that it was taking longer for the house to cool off. I called to request them to add the coolant and they were able to work me in the same day. Their workers are efficient and pleasant and their prices are fair.
