Mike returned my call within minutes and asked me to text pictures of the areas in need of repair. Once received, he texted a competitive quote and said he could take care of our job the same day (light workload that afternoon). His men arrived ahead of schedule, walked around our home to double-check areas in need of repair, masked work areas to protect pavers, worked efficiently, and completely cleaned up after themselves. The lead installer showed me their work prior to leaving to make sure I was completely satisfied with the outcome. I texted Mike afterwards, made payment, and asked a question afterwards about dry time prior to painting the patches. He was super responsive throughout this same-day process. I had five different stucco companies come out to give me a bid for repair work around a window, and John was the only one who actually started from a place of curiosity, asking me questions about the issue. You can tell right away that he's a person of solid character who has also mastered his craft. He took the time to first understand my problem, and then he walked me through the solution with so much patience and clarity (never condescending, just genuinely helpful). Not only was his bid very competitive, but he even took the time to review a competitor's quote with me and pointed out exactly where I was being overcharged for work I didn't even need. He and his son, Garrison, are really solid people. Even though he's a stucco expert and not a leak detection specialist, he went well above and beyond by helping me troubleshoot with a water test to make sure we found the actual source of the leak. For the stucco work that was required, he handled the repairs beautifully. Just as importantly, John identified work that wasn't necessary. If you want someone good-natured, patient, and truly an expert who cares about the final result, call these guys.

We got four quotes and Scott was the only one that took the time to truly assess what needed to be done and included the wood repair as part of the initial quote. One company gave us a quote with the repair being an extra cost that would be added later while the other two said that all of the damaged wood would just be patched with Bondo, which given the extent of the damage did not seem prudent. The crew was punctual, polite, and professional and we love the results. They even removed an old eyesore satellite dish that had been on the house since we moved in.

Over the years, I've had other handymen pass on the project. I had a handyman who was able to fill the rotted areas with wood filler, sand it, and restain it. I've even had a gate company tell me that they could not save the gate; it would need to be completely replaced. Bill was able to cut out the rotted pieces of wood, replace them, and restain the whole gate (he also repainted the decorative hardware on the door as well). Moreover, he discussed the project with a buddy of his and they determined that the gate was sitting over a muddy part of landscaping which is probably what facilitated the deterioration of the wood. We found some leftover pavers in our storage shed and Bill extended the pavers so the gate would sit over pavers instead of mud. Before he embarked on the wood gate repair, Bill also installed a valance/shade over a window. He made the necessary calculations to ensure that the valance/shade would be centered on the wall and window. He also made sure that the valence was leveled. Bill is honest, meticulous and detail-oriented. If you want someone to treat your project and your home, like it's his own, I would give Bill a call.

I agreed to go with Stubbins on Friday. By Monday, Mike A had sent a team to color match the paint needed, and by COB, had completed the project. The front of my house now looks gorgeous! There's nothing wrong with the paint crew itself: they are hard working and professional. Unfortunately, they are not properly informed by the owner who conveniently forgets to tell them to paint areas included in the estimates, even after collecting the money for the job. The problem is with the owner Frank who, either because of old age or because of too much partying, is neglectful, forgetful and scatter-brained, to the point where four times, I had to bring back the crew because Frank (and no one else) forgot to tell them to do a segment that was included in the contract. And so, I recorded our conversation and took pictures and films of the areas to do last summer only to...come back and find that Frank forgot once again to tell the crew to do a whole side of the house that was left unpainted. Frank called it "miscommunication" even after I showed evidence it was included in our agreement, and said "we'll do it for sure "next time". Problem is, I already paid for a job that was incomplete and, because of Frank's lack of professionalism and consistency, I decided there won't be a "next time", because I'm sure he'll forget again this time and blame it on too much wine or not enough sleep. And what's worse is the insistence to do what was supposed to be done another time when I decide to do another segment, and he'll "throw this last one in too". I now completely veer away from this company, will never use again, and totally advise against using by ANYONE as too many mistakes, too many recalls and too many times did he simply "forget" to tell his crew to do one or other side, or other segment, one or other fascia, one corner etc... I'd rather avoid the headache and the argument and go somewhere else, even though he still owes me for a corner that was included in the previous estimate and bill, that was paid for, but was never completed. I would definitely not recommend this company, end of story. Frank does however, get an A+ at being a BS artist and salesman, not so at being consistent and professional.

Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Highly recommend if you want high-end results without the "luxury markup" of other firms.
