Little did I know that I would be referred recently to this small retail dealer when my son's SUV was totaled in a multiple car crash (my son was shaken but okay). When my son identified one of the cars offered online on his list of possible makes and models, we checked the hours of the dealer and realized we needed to wait until morning to check it out in person. Of course, the wait allowed us time to look in depth at the Carfax History that is provided FREE OF CHARGE!! I found that many dealers require you to purchase it. My son, brother-in-law, and I arrived right around opening time and talked with Pete, one of the managers. Pete worked quickly with the necessary paperwork and releases so we could take the desired car for a test drive. My son confirmed with my brother-in-law and me that he did want to purchase the car, and after some negotiation and arrangements, he purchased the car. In our county's current car shortage situation, a decision needed to be made sooner than later. Pete was great to work with - he knows the vehicles and history - and explained the whole purchase process and what each disclosure, agreement, and acknowledgement meant. No worries here about the "old-time" car salesman routine! I whole-heartedly recommend the dealer because of Pete and Mike, the owner, and the quality of cars. He was very helpful with questions and ideas I should know in looking for a car, he said, weather or not I buy this one, it's good for me to ask these questions. He sugested I take it out on the expressway and we did. Then when I said it would be several days till I could come back to buy it and he said that he would hold it for me. We made a deal, including a bit of a discount considering the reg. fees and taxes. And it was a very reasonable price to start with. No deposit, only my word and his. I believe he has great integrity because I happen to know he was offered full price for it and turned it down the day before I came back. While waiting for the Highway Patrol, I called the closest auto shop- Affinity Auto- to see if they could be sure my car would be able to drive back to St. Augustine that night. The entire staff was SO kind and considerate. They made sure the car was safe and only charged me the minimum charge to secure the bumper. The mechanic also noticed the tires were all a little low on air, so filled those for me, too. So nice ! THEN comes the amazing part. I drove about 10 minutes away and locked my freaking keys in the car. It was 5:05pm on Friday evening and they drove to my location and unlocked the car for me! Above and beyond! He was nice & friendly, gave us information we needed to know buying the vehicle. It took us time to sign the paperwork, but well worth it all! After my review mysteriously disappeared from Google, even though it was supported by a $998…read moreline-by-line invoice from Tires Plus (in business since 1976), I am leaving my feedback in multiple places, since people deserve a full and objective review base before making a big decision. A week ago, we bought my son's first car (and I can provide bank screenshots it was this dealer) and he was nervous and disheartened when the orange SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on a few hours later. The very next day, Tires Plus ran a diagnostic on the light. I wish I could post a picture of the invoice, but there was no air filter, the battery tested low, and we found out the vibration we were hearing upon acceleration was due to an issue with the bearings and seals and wheel cylinder (resulting in a slight brake fluid leak). Furthermore, we were quoted an additional $1200 for exhaust work after they raised the vehicle and showed that someone had sloppily welded the two exhaust pipes together. They recommended we fix it in the next few months, as that was triggering the dashboard light and affects the car's ability to "breathe." BUYER BEWARE and take a mechanic with you, if at all possible. I don't want anyone to end up in my AS-IS situation, especially if you are like me, a single mom trying to help her kid.
