Great Great mechanic, been going for years!! I live in Forest Hills and still use them!!

I'm always nervous going to an auto repair shop concerned that they will tell me I need things replaced just to make money or the that they won't know how to fix a problem. Visit Date: October 7, 2021 I dropped my car off here on Thursday before work. My dad swears by this place and I've had my car here twice before but am only reviewing now. This is the second time my car needed brakes in a few years but I also drive my car around so much. I didn't have the money to lay out for a car repair but my dad laid it out and I'll pay him back. What else would a dad do for his almost 40 year old daughter going through a divorce and temporarily living home again? The mechanics here are very honest. I believe they are a family operation. My dad owns 3 cars. Before anyone gets their panties in a knot they're 3 older cars and not classics. One is my mom's 2002 mini van he insists on keeping on the road as long as possible because my mom passed away and it's a vestige of her. One is a 1990something dodge aries because my dad refuses to drive any of the newer cars if he can help it and a third is an older pick up truck but not a classic one. So yea even though he's got 3 cars he's not rolling in it, only rolling it in enough to loan me money for a car repair. But he's here often with one of the 3 cars to get some work done on it. They had my car done during the day. I appreciate same day service although sometimes unfortunately it's not always possible. The owner Will is a very nice man! And super helpful! Not only was he able to work within my budget, he was also able to make it super quick! He was actually the only shop to have inspection (2022) stickers, and he was able to put me in at 8am the next morning! I told him that this was my first time bringing my car to a mechanic without my dad, and that I've never taken my car to get anything by myself. He walked me through the steps, explained everything, and gave me NOTHING to worry about! The accessibility to the shop is also fairly easy as well so that's a bonus. On a nice gesture note, Will actually let me borrow his iPhone charger because I told him I was not local, and that I didn't want to miss the call on behalf of my phone dying. Will really makes the difference in customer service, and here at his shop he didn't hold back! My friend's mom was shocked at the price he quoted me, and I even got an appointment for him! I dont leave a lot of reviews but felt I needed to for this wonderful establishment. I needed air in my tires and did not know how to do it. My friend took my car to speedway next door and she messed up my tire and made it flat. I managed to put enough air in it and brought it to jc automotive. The guy working was doing something else but took the time to put air in all four of my tires and was seriously so nice to us. I will definitely be back if ever needed especially being new to the area! read more

Went in for a quick inspection---allgood!! But...that same night the check engine light comes on??? Went right back to place and was told that a loose wire triggered light...and that will be $125!!! So, a basic ny inspection costs ---$160+ by going here !! This guy knows how to play the game---avoid ---avoid---avoid!!! read more

***DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TAKING YOUR VEHICLE OR ANYTHING THERE***Was recommend by a family member says he sends JC Automotive (516) 766-4411 in Oceanside a lot of work.. My vehicle went back 4 different times (each time it went back I had to rent a car for at least a week each time) they ordered the wrong parts. You say you specialize in what I needed repaired new or rebuilt rears and you cannot order the correct parts?????? Got it back and it still made noise and was not working properly and it still was not fixed!!!! They are paid in full and will not do anything to remedy this situation. At the end of it all I am out 2,500.00, rent a car fees, AND STILL NEED TO FIX MY VEHICLE! **AVOID AVOID AVOID************* read more

I lived a block over from this guy, figured I'd go get an inspection no harm no fowl... first, I open the door and it's got 3 dudes smoking and one drinking. And I just looked and said " real classy guys lol"... anyways he looks at the car and says "oh u need tires and brakes" I told him my tires, brakes, rotors have been replaced 5 months ago. I was referred to this shop from many of my close friends because of their quality of service not too long ago. So I passed by at night and saw the shop was kept immaculate and so i thought i'd give it a try since i knew my daughter's car needed brakes. The price was very reasonable considering the car was fairly new and was a nightmare to deal with at the dealer. On top of that, the car was done that day within a couple hours and the owner was a great guy. The service was definitely good if not better then the dealer's because they didn't try and sell me anything i didnt need and they showed me the old parts so i knew i wasn't getting ripped off. I would recommend anyone to this shop after my experience. read more
