They finally came out to pour the footers and said they'd be back to finish in a couple days, then didn't call or show up when they said they would. Then they ghosted us for 3 weeks. We finally got them to come finish the job but then they tried charging us for our existing fencing. When we told them the bill was wrong, they denied it until they sent someone out to speak with us. They sent a new bill which was still incorrect. They began calling, texting, and emailing us daily saying that we were late paying them, even though the bill was still incorrect, acting like we were at fault. Steer clear of Kodiak unless you don't mind paying half the deposit up front, waiting months for them to do the job, then being harassed for payment on an incorrect bill.

We hired CFC six years ago to construct a large Trex deck and Trex waterfall steps leading up to…read moreour home. They completed the job and it looked lovely for a couple years. Sadly it began to fail (Facia board warping). We reached out to Trex because we were told their warranty is amazing, this was big selling point for us six years ago. CFC was also the Trex certified installer and leading importer of Trex material in our area. Fast forward to today. It's been a nightmare dealing with CFC. CFC shrugged off our worries and sent us to Trex to file a warranty. We sent in the warranty claim and Trex denied it stating that CFC installed the entire project WRONG! Trex sent pictures of their installation manual with directions of how CFC had installed the facia facing up, exposed to the elements and it is prone to warp, which is what ours started doing. CFC has been acquired by a new owner since our initial install. I'm hearing a few people are currently suing them for their shoddy work and the installer from CFC who came out to our home stated that they have had several call backs for this same problem, improper installation. Cameron, the new owner is combative and aggressive, continually expressing frustration that he is being held accountable for the past owners mistakes. As I told him, he chose to keep the name and claim he has been in business for 30 years (he personally has not), so he has inherited their mistakes. He is blaming Trex and stating they changed their manuals after their initial installation. This is one of those companies you have to call multiple times to get the work done. It took months of reaching out to get them to finish the work. When they left the job undone and I requested they return to complete the work agreed upon before settling the bill, Cameron threatened reaching out to an attorney and put a lien on my house if I didn't pay immediately. Shocking to say the least! He backed down and sent someone the next day to finish the job thankfully. Paying thousands of dollars six years ago for initial install and then six years later being stuck paying thousands more to fix the initial mistakes has been less than ideal. It's the typical blame others for what went wrong, make lots of promises of how you'll make it right and then complain and drag your feet about fulfilling those promises. As a consumer I'd avoid CFC and be cautious about hiring Trex Certified Installers. They are not all created equal....

They are true to their word. During the course of tear-down and new post installation, the crew cut through a partially obscured exterior AC power supply conduit, requiring a $1,324 electrician visit. I had asked to speak with the owner, Cameron, in the hope of possibly splitting the electrician fee, but he did not respond. I suppose I understand since the contract is clear. I called Best Vinyl to receive a quote and was given one their salesman's numbers. The salesman was…read moreGreg Davis. We played a little phone tag, but he was very professional and prompt with calling me back. He came in on 1 July, a Wednesday and quoted me the job. The job was pretty simple. I had around 32 feet of fencing with one single swing 5ft gate. For 32ft of 5-1/2 rails and 11in slats, I was quoted $734.40, $750.00 for labor, and $315.00 for the gate. Total of $1799.40. Do I feel I received the best deal? I doubt it, but I did not look anywhere else so I can't confirm that. Greg talked to me about how the project would go. If I had to guess, he started out as a fence worker because he knew all the terminology and quoted me EXACTLY what they were going to do and they did EXACTLY that. Greg asked me to pay half up front and let me know about when they were projected to start, which was 16 August, about a month and a half out. 5 out of 5 for Greg and how he handled the quote and sales portion. The warranty is basically wind and abnormal deterioration of the product due to normal weathering. Obviously if you kick a hole in it or your kid hops on the gate and breaks it, you are on your own. They worked on my yard in two phases. Posts and then rails/slats. The post guys gave me a call to set-up a time to work on the posts around the 13th of August, which was 3 days earlier than they projected. They ended up coming in on the 16th due to high work-load. I believe his name was Shannon or could have been Shane. *Disclaimer, I see some of the reviews that claim Best Vinyl did not pay attention to the sprinklers. The Best Vinyl paperwork clearly states the following: "Customer Responsibility: Additional cost incurred due to utility or sprinkler damage, if any. Location and identification of property lines, and the location of the product to be installed." Greg told me specifically to move the sprinklers. I used to be a landscaper so when I spoke with Greg and then Shannon, they let me know exactly where the posts were going to be. I dug up the areas to make sure there were no pipes going along those areas and had to move two sprinkler heads to prep the area for post digging. Shannon and another guy showed up, dug the post holes and set the posts in cement in about two hours. I had 7 posts. Quick and easy. They took all the extra dirt and dumped it where I asked them to. Here is where I start to get a little annoyed. The posts were all scuffed. They did not seem like they had been taken care of or they were the bottom of the pile or something. After the project was finished, I took a sponge and wiped down the posts and cleaned the scuffs out as much as possible. Not real happy about that. I even compared them to my neighbors' fences, which were at least 5 years older and they were pristine compared to mine. About a week later (the posts have to set) the rail/slat crew of four showed up unannounced. My wife asked them why they didn't call and they said they called me 45 mins prior to arrival. I never received a call; otherwise I would have been there to greet them. Did I really need to be there? No, but I don't trust anyone just roaming around my yard so that is just me. My wife and mother-in-law both claim they were very unprofessional and rude about it. My mother-in-law is just about the only person in this world who is going to make it to heaven so if she says they were unprofessional and rude, they were. Anyway, I got home and inspected the work. Unlike the posts, the slats and rails were in pristine condition. There were no major gaps and the gate was hung square in the area and not lopsided. They may have been jerks, but they knew how to put on rails and slats. Also, they had to cut out rail holes in an existing post to connect my fence. They did it right with no weird-shaped holes. They did leave some dirt on the grass for some reason though. The biggest perk though is none of my animals can leave the yard now so mission accomplished, but the scuffed up posts did make this a less than 100% experience.
