We needed a large deck replaced 9 years ago. The deck had held up for 40 years but the wood was getting old and the railing was not up to new codes. We had a great initial experience with Best Vinyl. The install was great, price was high but comparable to what others quoted. Fast forward 9 years. The railing is at an odd angle. We had them come out a few years ago to "fix" it but see the photos for how well that went. Now the support beams are slipping out of the brackets. The deck is actually caving in. We emailed to have Best Vinyl come out for an estimate on fixing it. No reply. I called and was told to send photos of the problem, which I did. No reply. I got a different contractor to come out and he said everything should have been nailed in, but wasn't. The beams were just set into the brackets. Totally unacceptable and not up to industry standard. This was a disaster waiting to happen! We barely use the deck, so this is not from misuse or excessive weight on the deck--it was installed improperly. We checked several places for our large patio awning. Products and prices varied greatly and we thought we wouldn't be able to afford the louvered cover we wanted until we ran into Best Vinyl at the garden show. Not only was it affordable, but they are so professional and happy to do just what I wanted, and I'm very picky. My beautiful new awning has withstood 80 mph winds and torrential rains this year and we couldn't be happier with it. It keeps my patio shady in the heat, and gives me sun when it's cooler out. I would NEVER recommend "Best Vinyl Utah" to anyone wanting a vinyl fence installed!! I chose Best Vinyl to install 235 feet of vinyl fencing with two walk through gates and one driveway gate. Normally this job would take about 10 days max for completion. My fence took almost 6 weeks. Properly installed panels should be approximately 6' wide. Mine were anywhere from 4' to over 7' wide and looked terrible. They had to send out another installer to correct the initial screwup. My 11' driveway gates were installed improperly and it took another installer 5 times to try to get them to be closer to proper and even after all these tries, they still are not up to standard, I finally had enough and accepted this install just to get it over with. There are a lot of choices for vinyl fence contractors, this is not one you should choose!! read more

I chose BV because I wanted a company that would be around to service the fence if anything happened. It took me over a month of calling them to get them to install the fence after the posts were set. When they finally installed the fence it took 4 return visits to complete it and they left a large gap at ground level. Then the fence came apart almost immediately with the first Utah rainstorm. 3 weeks later, now 3 months since signing the agreement, I still don't have a completed fence project. PROS: Estimator came on time, put forth a good effort to provide an accurate quote. Actual installation was performed quickly. They handle all city & county permits. CONS: Workers came late. They didn't use a tarp or drop cloth under their table saw leaving white vinyl bits embedded in my lawn, some pieces entombed forever no doubt. But worst of all the fence isn't level. Seven of eight sections on a 50ft fence are level, but the last section is crooked. Its annoying to look at. Hurts the eye. Would consider them for future work if they correct the mistake, and use a tarp next time. FOLLOW UP. Mitch at Best Vinyl had some clown from Utah call me and ask about my poorly installed fence, and then gave me a bunch of attitude because I was unhappy with their shoddy sloppy workmanship, and that I dared to give them a poor review - so Best Vinyl just got downgraded to one star. I would give Dave 10 Stars if Yelp would let me. I also need to mention that the Install Teams that I have worked with which I believe are Independent Contractors, have been Amazing! Top Notch work!! Unfortunately, Dave works for a Company that doesn't provide good backend support. Absolute Horrible and Atrocious Customer Support and people skills. Best Vinyl installed a fence in our backyard. It was ordered by our backyard neighbor, (so the order is under their name) but we paid for half. Best Vinyl came to install it when it was snowing. My yard is unfinished so they drove their 4-wheeler through my yard, which because of the snow was mud. This left DEEP tracks all through my side and back yard. They asked if they could leave all the dirt they had to dig up from placing the posts in our yard and we told them no. We already had too much dirt in our yard and will already have to be paying someone to get rid of it. They did not listen. They dug up all the dirt for the posts and just left it in piles in our yard and they also left all the chunks of sod that they dug up in my yard too. When they were all done, the fence had a lot of mud all over it and they didn't bother to clean it off our brand new fence. I have been calling Best Vinyl for 3 months, over and over, to get them to come clean up the mess they left. They keep promising they will come and take care of it, but still have not. Most recently I talked to Curtis. First he told me he came and looked briefly at my yard and didn't see any issues. I told him after all this time, weeds have started growing around the chunks of sod so he probably didn't notice them there along the fence line. He said he would meet me at my house last week, but he never showed or called me to reschedule. I called the office again last week and they said they'd have him call me, but I still have not heard from him. At this point I'm so sick of calling that I'm just going to have to leave a bad review so that I can move on and clean up their mess myself. Buyer beware!! I hired BV to install a fence and gates. As the install took place the crew intentionally cut material. Using only a small portion of concrete for each post. Ran out of sand and rock started shoveling the rock from my park strip to the mix. Huge gaps in the bottom of the fence some as much as 10 inches. Wrong size gates installed. I've been trying to get them to remedy this. They offered to remove warranty on the fence and keep all bad workmanship in place and the would take off 1000.00 or if I wanted the warranty, I could pay the entire amount. Horrible customer service. Bad workmanship. Save yourself the trouble and don't think the name gets you anything better than a fence installed y literally anybody. read more

I wish there was a zero star option. I hired Best Vinyl in April 2017 to do a deck extension. Simple enough job. Nothing has been done and I paid them about $4,000 to start the work. Here's the email I received from one of the owners today: Hi Kasey, We apologize for the frustration this job has caused you. We are not going to be able to meet your August 4th start deadline as the county will not issue a permit until at least August 15th. At this point, we feel the best option is to refund your deposit money. We will process and mail your refund check on Monday, July 31st. We had a deck (safety) railing installed in Fall 2019 (before the pandemic). We were encouraged by the positive reviews and statements like "Best Vinyl decks are strong enough to last a lifetime and are virtually maintenance-free." (from their website). Unfortunately, Best Vinyl (BV) has a pessimistic view on lifespan! Now that we can start using the deck (as restrictions have opened up), the railing meant for safety is starting to shift/sway -- certainly something that does not build confidence with respect to safety. BV claims that they only warranty their work for a year. It appears that their warranty department is not as optimistic as their marketing department. read more

I called Best Vinyl to receive a quote and was given one their salesman's numbers. The salesman was Greg Davis. We played a little phone tag, but he was very professional and prompt with calling me back. He came in on 1 July, a Wednesday and quoted me the job. The job was pretty simple. I had around 32 feet of fencing with one single swing 5ft gate. For 32ft of 5-1/2 rails and 11in slats, I was quoted $734.40, $750.00 for labor, and $315.00 for the gate. Total of $1799.40. Do I feel I received the best deal? I doubt it, but I did not look anywhere else so I can't confirm that. Greg talked to me about how the project would go. If I had to guess, he started out as a fence worker because he knew all the terminology and quoted me EXACTLY what they were going to do and they did EXACTLY that. Greg asked me to pay half up front and let me know about when they were projected to start, which was 16 August, about a month and a half out. 5 out of 5 for Greg and how he handled the quote and sales portion. The warranty is basically wind and abnormal deterioration of the product due to normal weathering. Obviously if you kick a hole in it or your kid hops on the gate and breaks it, you are on your own. They worked on my yard in two phases. Posts and then rails/slats. The post guys gave me a call to set-up a time to work on the posts around the 13th of August, which was 3 days earlier than they projected. They ended up coming in on the 16th due to high work-load. I believe his name was Shannon or could have been Shane. *Disclaimer, I see some of the reviews that claim Best Vinyl did not pay attention to the sprinklers. The Best Vinyl paperwork clearly states the following: "Customer Responsibility: Additional cost incurred due to utility or sprinkler damage, if any. Location and identification of property lines, and the location of the product to be installed." Greg told me specifically to move the sprinklers. I used to be a landscaper so when I spoke with Greg and then Shannon, they let me know exactly where the posts were going to be. I dug up the areas to make sure there were no pipes going along those areas and had to move two sprinkler heads to prep the area for post digging. Shannon and another guy showed up, dug the post holes and set the posts in cement in about two hours. I had 7 posts. Quick and easy. They took all the extra dirt and dumped it where I asked them to. Here is where I start to get a little annoyed. The posts were all scuffed. They did not seem like they had been taken care of or they were the bottom of the pile or something. After the project was finished, I took a sponge and wiped down the posts and cleaned the scuffs out as much as possible. Not real happy about that. I even compared them to my neighbors' fences, which were at least 5 years older and they were pristine compared to mine. About a week later (the posts have to set) the rail/slat crew of four showed up unannounced. My wife asked them why they didn't call and they said they called me 45 mins prior to arrival. I never received a call; otherwise I would have been there to greet them. Did I really need to be there? No, but I don't trust anyone just roaming around my yard so that is just me. My wife and mother-in-law both claim they were very unprofessional and rude about it. My mother-in-law is just about the only person in this world who is going to make it to heaven so if she says they were unprofessional and rude, they were. Anyway, I got home and inspected the work. Unlike the posts, the slats and rails were in pristine condition. There were no major gaps and the gate was hung square in the area and not lopsided. They may have been jerks, but they knew how to put on rails and slats. Also, they had to cut out rail holes in an existing post to connect my fence. They did it right with no weird-shaped holes. They did leave some dirt on the grass for some reason though. The biggest perk though is none of my animals can leave the yard now so mission accomplished, but the scuffed up posts did make this a less than 100% experience. read more

They say 7-10 days which is already way longer than it should take. It is currently day 13 and still they haven't finished and they aren't open on weekends which means at least another few days before they finish. We had them install a front yard vinyl fence about 10 years ago. This Halloween some pranksters threw a pumpkin into our mailboxes destroying the stand and a post. I called Best Vinyl to see if they could repair it. He said they could but there would be a minimum charge of 650$ to send someone out and any material would be an additional charge. I told him that sounded totally unreasonable but he basically just sad too bad that's the way it is. They obviously are only concerned about big money making jobs and have no time for smaller repairs or feel any responsibility to their former customers!! Decent product with not much care for customers. We went with these guys partly because they said they were two weeks out. It was over a month and a half before they even started. I had all of my yard plans on hold while I waited for them. We were held hostage because we put down a deposit and couldn't back out. I understand that it gets busy, but there was NO customer service. We were only contacted twice to tell us they were delayed (These were both after the expected date), with no explanation or apology. Only after complaining did we get a $10 gift card apology in the mail, which I imagine was sent out bulk to try and appease all the frustrated customers. If I got the fair price of the delayed service in the form of a discount and a more personal apology, I might rate higher, but my experience was very impersonal and showed me they don't care. read more

I told them that I will be pouring concrete on side of my house till the fence posts that they are going to put it. I also mentioned that the fence slats should be nicely sit on the concrete when the project is done. To my surprise, these guys installed the posts so low that, my concrete guys said they have about 20-25 degree slope on my concrete. I had to call these guys to fix the problem (raise the posts), they said I need to pay $250 more to raise the posts..... Best Vinyl is in the business for a while and those experts should know how deep they need to install the posts in order to accommodate the concrete. They have a reference driveway concrete if anyonethere could think...I received a total unprofessional response from the sales guy Mark, who said " I didnt communicate well enough". Well, I end up paying the extra $250 for the job, and I hoped everything will go smooth from then..But not really. The slat installers came in, and installed two of those slats too high, and I now have an inch and half to two inch gap between the slats and concrete. I have been told by these gentlemen + Mark (sales person) that there will be a slope on the slats, and I said thats OK. However, there is no slope there, but instead a sudden dip. A total stupid work!! I heard Best Vinyl is a BIG company and they do a great job..Well, they might be very BIG to ignore this review, but they are very unprofessional and I am NOT at all satisfied with their work. Had a great experience with Best Vinyl! Cameron gave a great quote and Chad did a wonderful job with installation all within the time estimated, in fact earlier. They called ahead to alert me when they would be coming; was especially helpful. My only squabble would be that Cameron wasn't quite clear that the pergola would have 3 posts along the front. I expected 2. But hey, now it's stronger! Also, lots of white vinyl shavings on the ground but not immediately on the patio, which is fine since we don't have any sod yet. Might be a suggestion to put down a drop cloth in the future to pick up shavings to discard elsewhere away from customer property. I had a great experience with Best Vinyl 10 years ago when they installed my deck. But this summer, I had some problems with my deck and called to get an estimate on repair. I called in late June and was told I would get a call back in 3 weeks to schedule an appointment. Never got a call back, so I called again in August. I was transferred to customer service who after 45 minutes on hold I was disconnected. I called again and was told the 1 customer service agent was at lunch and I would get a call right back. Needed some replacement hardware for a gate that is 10+ years old. This is not something that Lowes or Home Depot carries. Went to the Best Vinyl shop in Lehi and they had the exact part I was looking for and price was good. Also, needed to do some repair on a small section of vinyl picket fence. Using my measurements they cut a couple replacement rails with some extra length to work with. They were very helpful and easy to work with. The gate and picket fence are now fully functional again. So in July I put down my down payment to have my fence built in the first two weeks of September. I figured this would be an easy timeline to hit considering it was two months away and a two week window. Those two weeks came and went with no contact by best vinyl and I had to give them a call asking about why my fence hadn't been installed. They told me they were about 3 weeks behind. I told them that I needed the fence installed when they had said they would install it and they were able to move up my install date. Well when the team came out to finally install my fence they hit a power line, the power company dug up a huge section of my yard, and then when they finished the fence they left a lot of trash all over my yard and did not move the dirt to where they said they would. The fence looks ok, but it wasn't everything I expected based on the pictures given to me during my quote. When it is all said and done my fence was finally installed 4 weeks after the date scheduled and I had to clean up after the workers. We bought a home in Salt Lake City. I was referred to two fence companies. One being "Union Fence" the other "Best Vinyl". Union Fence was a Nightmare! They told me I had to call, to find out if our home was located in the historical district of Salt Lake City (the Avenues). Okay. I call the city. Nope, not in a historical district. I call back and speak to Gary at Union Fence. He says "Well, now you have to go into the permitting office, bring a sketch of your home showing where you want the fence, get a permit and call me back" WHAT?? Are you joking? "No", he says. He shows me different styles of vinyl fences. Ten minutes later, after a deposit has been made, I am on my merry way. Our estimator was knowledgeable and informed us of different permits that would need to be obtained from the city before we could move forward. He was friendly but I did feel like he was in a hurry at times to move on to the next house. There was a breakdown in communication, which was very frustrating, but once they knew about the breakdown they made efforts to make it better. They ended up being the highest of the 3 bids we received but they became very responsive to my concerns once they knew about them. read more
