I'm seriously writing this to look out for you…read more Here's the short form, the company's constantly breaching the employment standards act for BC, not only that but they are definitely anything but professional. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There's some major issues within the company they hire without any proper interview nor do they make you sign any forms. They do not pay their workers well and offer no overtime. They also threaten workers with pay deductions. They also fish for reviews constantly. Not only that they will quiet fire employees. Also note they do not provide workers with any formal training or proper handling techniques. Drivers are hired without their drivers abstract being reviewed or even proof of a class 5 license. The company promises unrealistic quotes on work, and will purposefully withhold items until payment is received. If something is broken their first thought is to attempt to hide it as best they can to avoid giving you a discount or resolving the matter properly. Also note if you do find damage to your property the manager will actively make it difficult for you and try to evade your questions and a proper discount. Allegedly within their contracts they say that you must write a good review (despite if they did a terrible job) of the company or they will attempt to charge you. The workers themselves are none the wiser so it's not worth taking your frustrations out of them most of the time they'll get reprimanded if the customer is difficult. Again PLEASE do find a different company and if you must use this one I urge you to be very skeptical and read everything of the contract.

" by 11am the next morning I received no quote, so I called cody again and he sounded like he was sleeping or like he was doped up and drugs. he said he will email me the quote by 2 pm that day. 2 pm went by and I did not receive a quote from him so I texted him at 4 pm. Nothing So I went to a concert that night, and came home at 11:30 am and there was no quote from cody. So I texted him with an appropriate piece of my mind, and explained to him how he made himself look blatantly unreliable and that I would never hire him or his father's company nor would I recommend papas moving to a friend or to anyone. cody was ridiculously unprofessional. They rent trucks then change the agreed upon hourly rate after they have your property HOSTAGE! (Any business that claims to be around for 70 years would at least have a moving truck!) This guy literally sizes you up and is using this business as a front to steal property from innocent people! Well that's exactly what he did to me... He opened and went through my boxes and gave me excuses when I caught him... I am missing jewelry and cash that I did not think anyone would go through my things EXCEPT ME. He rigged my garage door so that it could be opened from the outside with the release cord...My neighbour saw him and informed me what he had seen. At the end of the move it cost me 2x more than what I was quoted. He said at the beginning of the move that he was giving me a deal because I was a single mother. There was no deal and he demanded cash even though that was not brought up... as I assumed I could use my credit card like any normal business transaction... but that was definitely not the case. I never got my receipt/invoice even after I tried texting him and asking several times... He refused return my key fob ... I never got it back... I had to pay $4750 in cash. I did not get my receipt or invoice as promised. I was missing pieces of my bedroom furniture (dresser drawer) .. My dining room table had pieces broken off of it... I am missing one leg to my office desk which is now a useless desk... My child's drum kit was taken but he returned parts of it as I threatened him with court... he sent someone to return part of it but that's all that was returned. I am missing all the cords to my tv's and electric devices... I was told they were in a particular box but they were not. My furniture in the master bedroom was tipped on it's side so I would not notice the deep scratches that were made. (All this furniture was wrapped professionally and in storage... this happened somehow during this crazy move. This mover wanted me to give him my house keys to return and help me unpack my things the next day while I was taking my children to school and got angry and offended when I tried to decline giving him my personal house key. He acted as though I was insulting him by not trusting him with my personal house key. He got verbally aggressive with me so I pretended I would leave the key for him under my matt... I did not and fired him the following morning via text message. One of the movers who was working for this company actually informed me that this guy had stolen from me... had he not informed me I don't know if I would have noticed certain things missing at first. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER! WARNING... SAVE YOURSELF THE HEAD ACHE AND STRESS. SAVE YOURSELF FROM HAVING TO FILE A COURT CLAIM. There are decent honest hard working movers out there... This guy is NOT one of them. Always make sure the company is bonded and/or has insurance... don't go for the deal ... and definitely get things in writing... witnesses... text... email... messages... etc.. it all helps. PS. This guy has written his own online reviews as well. This was only a small portion of what happened... it was much worse.

Black Sea responded immediately to my quote request, and was here literally the day after my request within 24 hours!!! The guy was super smart about how to navigate the stairs, running a movies carpet to protect my walls, floors, and staircase, and he unboxes and assembled my recliners, having me test them to make sure they were good.
