I have been recommending JCL to other Tesla owners for a couple years now. I have a 2019 model S. In early 2025 they replaced both left and right front axle assemblies ($850 each). In December 2025 the same parts needed to be replaced again. Chris informed me that the parts were warranted for 2 years which made me feel a little better. It wasn't until I called back to discuss some of the details that Chris made me aware that the warrantee was not a Tesla warrantee but was a JCL warrantee! The first time I ever came here for service, I was waiting for my car when the owner came out to speak to an older gentleman about repairs to his car. He explained that the repairs needed for the car far exceeded the car's worth and he didn't recommend the expensive repair. I discovered JCL Automotive after searching for a 3rd party Tesla Service shop in the area. Tesla does most of their own service, but for a variety of reasons, 3rd party Tesla service shops have been growing as an alternative. Most of them are on the west coast, so I was surprised when I found one in Hellertown, PA. I had been having problems with the pano moonroof on my 2014 Model S and the Tesla service center could not help. I found the team at JCL Automotive extremely trustworth and helpful. Chris, the owner, was honest and forthright, offering to research the issue (on his dime) and give me an honest "we can help, or we cannot help" evaluation. I'll update this review later. read more

I've bought 3 and sold 1 car through them, as well as serviced them all over the last 8 years. I'm a car person, repair them myself at times. Chris (owner) Steve (Car Sales owner) are both impeccably honest and genuinely expert and enthusiastic about their work. Prices are excellent for the level of work (master BMW) and parts (always OE or OEM), and better than dealer by far. They do it right, know when something can wait. Whenever there was a misdiagnosis or unexpected failure, they were honest and very fair if not generous about resolution. All my cars go to 200K+, and these guys are great for a long term relationship to care for my 3 BMWs. Don't expect a coupon-based cheap service station, expect expert/competent work at a good/fair price. read more

JCL is a great place to buy a vehicle and to maintain or repair it. They are very honest and upfront and truly care about their customers. We bought a used 2000 BMW Z3 from them and the amazing part was that they even offered a 3-month warranty, bumper-to-bumper warranty (electronics, drivetrain, all of it), and they honored that warranty too ... on a 20 year old car! But even if you already have a BMW or other German car, it's a great place to get your car maintained. I suppose they are a little bit more expensive than a regular mechanic, but BMWs and other luxury vehicles tend to be overengineered and it is good to have someone work on it who knows these vehicles well. You can go to a dealer, of course, but ... that's much more expensive and the customer service is usually terrible (and there is not really a guarantee that they know that much more ...). I can't speak highly enough of JCL. Aside from general good care for my car (an Audi), I was particularly impressed with how they handled one repair. My "check engine" light came on and stayed on -- a faulty sensor. They replaced a part at a cost of a few hundred dollars. It was great for a day. Then -- drove the car and the light came on again. I took it back and discussed it. JCL looked at the car, stated that they had made a misdiagnosis, cleaned the old part very well and reinstalled it. They credited me the full cost of the part and labor. It would have been *easy* for them to say that there was also something else, to say that this part still needed changing, to give me only a partial credit... I was so impressed by their honesty. I have sung their praises to many people and am doing it here. Oh -- and the sensor light stayed off for a long time just from their doing a good job cleaning it. read more

My friend has bought and sold several cars here. We just took them in for detailing (I am staying with her for an extended amount of time) and it was probably the best detailing job I've seen. Went here for the first time for a state inspection and oil change. Clean waiting area and friendly staff. The sticking point came when the bill arrived. State inspection fees looked in order. Then I saw that I was charged $95 for an oil change. My eyes plum-near fell out of my head. $95! Dana the front desk clerk was kind and patient and explained that they used a synthetic oil and that was why it was so astronomical. Every other place I've ever had an oil change done, they would ask me ahead of time what sort of oil I wanted to use (Conventional? Synthetic? Apparently liquid platinum like this place?) and go over the pricing options inherent. Not here. I was so incredulous at the price that they took $20 off from the order. That was appreciated. However, that's still the cost of two oil changes just about anywhere else. In the future, it would be helpful if the costs for services (and the options available) could be discussed before the sticker shock. read more

I recently purchased a 2015 M6 BMW with competition package. The previous owner installed a Dinan tuner with a claimed 705 HP. Unfortunately, I purchased the car out of state without test driving it. Bottomline I was not happy with the performance because it was slower than my previously owned stock Mercedes E63 AMG-S. I have had a lot of fast cars and bikes a B&M Mega blown 32 Coupe, Viper, ZO6, Pro-Charged Vett, V-Max. For me, my next car always has to be faster than the previous. So, I started looking for a solution. I called Dinon - ZERO help. Finally, Chris at JCL Automotive told me about a company that he has partnered with called Noelle Performance. They claimed they have the ability to modify BMW's actual software. Their M6 programing states an increase from 600HP to 750HP. After doing a lot of research I decided to pull the trigger. OMG....UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE!!! From 40 MPH to 170 MPH plus this is the fastest car I have ever owned or have driven including a RENNTECH 700 HP E63 Mercedes, 488 Ferrari and 2019 911 Turbo S. No question - if the M6 had all-wheel drive it would be faster off the line than the Turbo S. JCL's install completely transformed my M6 into a Super Car! A dramatic improvement in throttle response, enhanced shifting especially on highway downshifts and an ENORMOUS INCREASE in power. They also increased the speed limiter from 155 MPH to over 200 MPH! I truly cannot believe the difference from my old M6 to what I am driving now. I took the Dinon tuner / wiring harness and threw it in the trash. Under full acceleration my M6 is an assault on all senses an absolute adrenaline rush. JCL Automotive is A++...1st and foremost they answer the phone, they fixed an error code that the local BMW dealer could not fix, let me use a loaner car at no charge, turned my car around in 24 hours and gave me a great price - THANK YOU Chris!!! read more

Jcl was suggested by another mechanic, I was very pleased by their customer service. They actually listened to me and fixed only what I needed fixed. They stayed in their estimate. I purchased a 2013 BMW from them in July 2015. Beautiful car. In discussions/negotiations, the fact that the front bumper had been repainted by JCL and was explained as "it had been scraped by a curb/parking block--no accident". Well, in the recent heavy rains the right front headlight unit filled with water/moisture, causing the light, high beam and turn signal to become inoperable. BMW dealer service pointed out/showed me how the light had been damaged in an apparent accident and epoxied back together (in two places) AND that the right front fender had also been repainted. The replacement light and control modules for it are $4K. Am not accusing (as I am well aware that buying a used car is risky) but I would keep this in mind if your are considering a purchase at this establishment. Buyer Beware. read more
