I had a consultation with Jocelyn and she made me feel so comfortable. She was honest and told me what my hair journey was going to look like. I came in with box dyed hair - dark brown - and heavy gray roots. I just couldn't keep doing this to myself. My appointment was 2 days later and she was amazing. Review is for the Signature Head Spa with Rizza (thank you so much!). Compared to Pasadena's Spa EN, this is better! Services included scalp analysis, aromatherapy, scalp deep cleaning, steam, hair treatment and hydrating hair mask. It left my scalp and hair so soft and lovely. Things that make it special included changing into a robe (instead of staying in your clothes at other head spas), arm and hand massage during the steam portion, quick facial and mask, and quick back massage at end of treatment. The treatment is 55 minutes but it felt so long because of the variety of massage techniques and phases. The building is not the fanciest but the treatment itself is AMAZING. I am giving JCLA 2 stars, because I am very disappointed with the fact that my wishes were completely ignored, and my hair was cut as Jocelyn thought it should be, not as we discussed, and suffice it to say that the back is so short that I could be in the military, after I had specifically said the length in the back is fine, and she agreed and said that she wouldn't be touching the back. This was the second cut after she had cut it short a few weeks ago, and there were parts that I wanted shorter still, and pointed out those parts. The cut itself is ok, although the front is still not going in the way I wanted it to, but it is TOTALLY NOT WHAT I WANTED OR WHAT WE DISCUSSED. It will take months to grow out to be able to do anything else with it, its not even long enough to have an extension weaved in. I hate the way I look now, I'm embarrassed for people to see me this way and frustrated that she didn't listen either of the times she cut my hair to how I style it and what I wanted. I am giving it the two stars only because the head spa that I got the first time I went was wonderful, then the color that Jocelyn did was also great the first time she did it and on the next visits. I don't like giving reviews like this, but after living with this cut for a few days, and hating the way I look when I see myself in the mirror, or when people see me, I had to put this review. Needless to say, I will not be going back even though the color and the head spa were great. read more

This is hands down my new go-to salon. The salon I've previously been going to for haircuts, quoted me over $400 for a balayage on my virgin hair and I thought that was normal - was going to book it. Then I read the price list for JCLA Hair and saw how amazing the results looked, and made an appointment. Lots of parking, reasonable pricing, great results! Also COVID safe - everyone was wearing masks and I saw them sanitizing chairs between people. Wow! I absolutely love my hair. JC took the time in the beginning to ask me what I want with my hair, after showing her photos she was just trying to be certain on what I wanted etc. She was super transparent the whole time about certain things like I had cut my own hair a few months ago and I wanted it evened out - she pointed out a few strands that she was not going to even out so it could grow, otherwise it'd look awkward. I was totally fine with that but appreciated that she told me because if she didn't, I would've been confused. So her honesty was great. I'd ask the most random questions to clarify things since it was my first time coloring my hair and she answered them all. We talked about random things too, she's just so friendly and kind. She managed her time really well too - while my hair was setting, she finished up another client and the timing was perfect. I don't have one single bad thing to say about this place. Quality: I had gone from a known hair salon in Sherman Oaks and my hair was butchered, unfortunately.
