I came in looking for a specific pair of sneakers and was happy to find them. The first floor seemed clean, though no one offered me any assistance. I saw two employees chatting and discussing 'juniors' sales, but they didn't greet me or ask if I needed help. To make matters worse, the second floor was quite dirty. JC Penny's has been around since my childhood and not only mine, but others as well. That statement does serve as a facade in an attempt to conceal the unknown. JC Penny's has very stylish clothing to fit every budget. You can always ask a salesperson for assistance if needed. Whenever I Shop there, I've always dealt with the nicest of nice staff members. The store was tidy and there weren't millions of shoppers present. I recommend you get there before the holiday rush. At the conclusion of the sale, they cashier asked, how would you like to pay. Me being me, I said, I owe you. She gave me the strangest look as she was caught off guard and dazed. No response! I became apprehensive and thought I need to be more clearer. Coming across these stores is rare to see, especially for us living in the Hudson Valley. A three-level store, there's quite a selection and I've never seen so many items, at least at this location. The departments seemed to be kept up, considering I went pretty early in the day, and was quiet, which I'm sure will get messy on the busier days and times. It seemed to be staffed pretty well, with an appropriate amount with the time of day. It was easy to pinpoint where items are, along with signs indicating where they properly are. I feel service could have been better on the sales floor, asking for assistance. In the years to come, hopefully, this JCP will last. read more

When we wouldn't purchase a bag for $0.25 he stated that I was cheap. Why buy a bag for a small item. Went to walk up to other store assc. they turned and walked away. I ordered a pair of jeans and waited for their arrival for 2 weeks! All of a sudden the order was canceled with no email to alert me. I called Customer Service and spoke to KESROY and he told me that at that time the jeans were no longer available. I told them how I needed the jeans for a specific event and the agent ordered them and told me they would be delivered on Friday. On Friday there was no package. I called them again and they told me that I was going to receive it the next week on a Tuesday. Sorry for my inconvenience, but they couldn't do much more. When I asked if there were any notes regarding the call they told me no. However, when I gave her the name of the agent, she paused, laughed, and then said oh yes, she saw the notes on the account, but that there was nothing they could do for me. This will be the last time that I order from JC Penny. Their communication skills are little to none and they make BS assurances of delivery dates. read more

Danique did my make up for my graduation party and she did an incredible job. I heard she no longer works there but I miss her so much. Today I went in to get some foundation to cover up some blemishes because I honestly did not feel pretty. Nicole I believe her name was, helped me find my shade and educated me about my skin. She picked out the perfect shade for me and educated me about skin care. She also taught me how to properly put on foundation. Im in relationship now and I want to look cute for my boyfriend. The only reason for coming here was to make a return of some mail order stuff that was too big. Thinking that I would not have a parking issue mid week, later in the afternoon was a big mistake. All I could think was that no one really works. Why are there so many people at the mall? Ugh! The store itself is very bright, but forget finding any employees on the floor. JCP is just a upscalish version of Walmart in a mall setting. JCP employees are all at the registers and even then you need to stand in the people feeder rope area and wait for service. Finally a cashier told me I was in the wrong line for returning mail order and I needed to go upstairs. Ok, up I go only to get in another line with both pickups and returns. The cashier handling my return was anti-tude. He had neither good upbeat attitude nor bad attitude. It looks like there are alot of warm bodies being hired to fill the basic customer service positions. Why would any customer want to deal with anyone at the store level with such a blah-titude...blah attitude. Amazon is the new way to shop to avoid this new wave of anti-customerservice. read more

Hi Friends, Holiday shopping at Penny's today was wonderful today. It seems so much more fun since the last time I was here. The Store was brightly beautifully decorated for the Holidays. That's the way you show your customers that you appreciate them. Make you store look nice and modern and load up with sales people that are happy to help. I was delighted to see more cool ideas here for stocking stuffers for Wifey and Mom.. gifts like hats, scarves, ugly sweaters. Great jewelry Sales at 70% off. Way better price than other Mall stores. I Love saving money. The sales staff were all so helpful and smiling. I enjoyed shopping here today. I felt my busines was really appreciated and that's so important for me. So, today I decided to take a leap of faith and get the Chi Enviro Smoothing Treatment. As a natural haired girl with curly coily hair, I was scared that I would lose my curl pattern, I would get heat damage, all the regular worried thoughts a customer would have. I came in and Jazmin took such good care of me. She explained all the steps of the treatment, what is in the product, and what was best is that she had the treatment in her hair so I knew exactly what to expect. Having a stylist who knows the product very well and knows how to deal with my natural hair is always a plus. Everyone in the salon were so nice and welcoming. They've got a hacker or someone in their system that's hacking into peoples accounts. We canceled our acct. and cut up the card. Was in Roosevelt Field Mall on Sunday with my daughter, And decided to stop in at JC Penny for some Levis Mens Jeans. They have a huge selection of all the different styles. Unfortunately they are all over the place and no real order.I looked for my size for around 15 minutes unsuccessfully. Looked around for a sales person for around 10 minutes. Not a salesperson to be had anyway around. When I went up to the register nearest and asked if there was anyone to help in that section, The lady behind the register was extremely rude. Will never shop at JC penny again Went onto Amazon and in two minutes found what I wanted and the correct size and ordered it an had them two days later. I went to the lingerie department and met Tamika! I was in denial about my bra size but she made me feel so comfortable! She was very thorough and knowledgable. I really felt like I was in great hands. You can tell she genuinely loves her job and what she does. She took her time with me. She made sure I was comfortable. She was suppose to go on her lunch break but she stood with me until we found the proper size. Now that's what I call customer service! She doesn't get paid commission either (that's crazy)! She was very comforting in a sense that she knew where I was coming from and she was able to relate. I would definitely recommend JC Penny & return to have her help me with anything intimate. She used her employee discount on top of the buy one get one 60% off. $66 later I ended up with four decent, right sized bras (even one that I wore out). Tamika, thank you. Zero stars for JCPenney ! I'm a very long time loyal customer. After the treatment i received today, I will not shop this company anymore. I was at checkout paying for an item that was on the shelf with a 50% off sign. The cashier scanned the item and it came up full price. When I questioned the price, he proceeded to tell me the item rings up not on sale price. There were several items on the display with same discount sign. He wouldn't let me show him the signage. He was very uncooperative and very combative. Have aways enjoyed shopping there for more than 40 years . I don't need JCPenney anymore. My husband, and I, will not shop there again. read more

I wish I could think of something others here haven't already mentioned many times. I've come here for most of my life. I finally opened my JCP account in 2005 when my father died and I needed a suit for the funeral. I used to LOVE Penney's. They upped my credit several times without my asking because I was shopping and paying so much. Now, they are lowering it because I can barely stand to come in here. Today I figured I'd use my card to keep it alive and pick up a pair of sweatpants I'm needing. I swear, it looks like this store has to be closing already. Huge mountains of clothes piled onto tables. Total slovenly disorganization throughout every dept in the mens section. I found both boys & womens pants stuck in with the mens. All sizes mis-labeled. In the NIKE section, a recording went off 4 times that a customer needed help. (I'm guessing it's motion activated.) No one ever showed up. Went to look at sneakers. Total disaster area. Jumbled mess & empty shelves abound. No employees anywhere. Finally I found sweats that were slightly less expensive and went to the check out--only one customer before me. Waited forever until the girl called someone over to check me out. A COMPLETELY RUDE GIRL. NO greeting, NO thank you. NOTHING. I'm still willing to bet that some employees there ARE nice, but my general feeling is that it would be worthless to complain. Considering the customer experience there, I cannot believe they are treating the workers like anything other than garbage. Out of respect for what Penney's used to be, they absolutely should just shut the thing down now.What an insult to see this once great store die such a slow, humiliating death. I have not shopped this store in years, but remembered it as a pleasant experience. My advice to everyone is Don't shop here. I arrived at 10:30 am on a Tuesday to return items I bought online. There were a few people waiting and when I tried the door I was told they don't open until 11 am. What retail store in a mall doesn't open until 11 am on a Tuesday during the holiday season?? Anyway, the escalators were broken and I had to wander around the store looking for an elevator. I'm not surprised Penney's reports their sales are down. With hours like this, the inside of the store looking like it's not maintained (broken escalators?) and not one sales person on the selling floor, they deserve to close down. I went into this JCP on a Saturday during a three day weekend so of course the lines were insanely long or non existent as there were no Sales Associate available. In the Fitting room, there was not one attendant. So what made my experience so pleasurable? The deep discount and the cashier. Great Customer service is everything and that's something that you just can't achieve with the internet shopping experience! The sale associate at the register was friendly, she asked about rewards without pressure. She confirmed my name. She complimented my fashion choices and also gave recommendations. She also reminded me not to forget my $10 off coupon. I loved her for that. I can't stop talking about that shopping experience. Some sales associates behave as if the coupon is being deducted out of their check as the CEO and stockholders become richer. Please relax and let me save thank you. Thank you associate 0498 as she doesn't even have a name on my receipt. DON'T SHOP ON LINE !!!! I decided to put curtains in the house. ONE of the 9 packages never showed I was given the run around. They state all missing packages (no matter the price must get a police report) I contacted Las Vegas Metro, they said for that small amount I would need to contact UPS and report not received. I did and was told the Merchant has to report it. So after being on the phone for 2 days. Bottom line is I have to go into the Police station associated with my zip code, which is open 9-5 Mon-Fri ONLY, so I know have to take time off work !!!!!! read more

The store, in a mall, on a Saturday was dead. And so was their wifi on the lower floor. Almost nothing in the store is ticketed and there are no price checkers. You need to use their app, or a bar code scanner on your phone in order to find out the price. Again, as there is no wifi on the lower floor, you have to take your item(s) up to the upper floor to find out the price. If you want to use any coupons, you need the app. If you don't have the app ahead of time, again you have to go upstairs to download it. So, get to the checkout and I had $10 in rewards and there was a 20% coupon on the app. By the time I got to the register, I no longer had service and had to go upstairs to get and keep the rewards coupon on my phone. I assumed the cashier would have the 20% coupon at the register, but no. I again had to run a mini marathon to get the coupon on the phone. Horrible. I'm no longer surprised there was no one in the store. It will be my last visit. read more

This review is for the photo studio. When we arrived 10 minutes early for our appointment, we were told they were behind and would be seen in 30-45 minutes. After I went to the front counter after 50 minutes of waiting, I was told we are "probably next" and told to wait another 10 minutes. In total we waited a little over an hour past our appointment time to have our photos taken. The main customer service representative appeared to be no more than 23 or 24 years old, tops, with a level of maturity much younger than that. Very ignorant, short and unprofessional with customers. When we finally are with the photographer, she asked my son why he chose the shoes and socks he was wearing. Before us, she asked a mother why her sons were wearing the shirts they were wearing. When our pictures were completed, the photographer told my wife "come with me, just send your husband with the kids to get something to eat." I do not enjoy or appreciate being dismissed as if a husband is incapable or too incompetent to choose family photos. The entire time we were there the place was a mad house. The schedule was completely over booked with the typical "we'll be right with you" response. Seating is limited, so more people were sitting on the floor in the studio, on the floor in the hallway or wandering around the store waiting for their turn. Asking for an update or anything of anyone working in the studio was seemingly a huge inconvenience for them. My recommendation is to have someone with vested interest in customer service train those that interact daily with the client base. This is a poor reflection on the JC Penny's brand. I hope in the futuristic issue is resolved before I ever consider doing business here again. read more

No one at this location is helpful. I've been shopping here for my mom and for housewares appliances for about 6 years. I've never gotten great customer service. I will say their sales are great and I will always shop here because you can grab a coupon from the website before checking out. ALWAYS. The cashiers are slow and aren't up to date on the sales through out the stores. I'm a cashier and I'm super fast, I can multi task and provide customer service. So I don't know why it's so hard for the workers to. I will say jcpenny is becoming expensive. The Sephora inside this store is garbage. The products are dusty and the workers are rude. They look like they literally hate their job. I bought a powder in there and came home to dust all over my palm, safe to say I returned it. I was a little disappointed about my visit today. I'm rating my stars right down the middle because I am a JC Penney fan but they don't deserve any stars today. My grandmother bought a skirt out of the green acres location but it didn't fit after she went home to try it on. She brought it back to be exchanged for another size, but it wasn't in stock. The clerk said that it was available at the Roosevelt Field location. So the following day, I came to this location. I looked in two different sections with help from staff, and could not find the skirt. After that, I went to the register to have it looked up in the computer. She said there were two left and she was going to check in the back for it. I was only relieved for a few minutes because when she came back she said they didn't have it. I was very annoyed. If the computer system is not accurate, why even tell me the item is there? Either JC Penney needs to upgrade their computer system for inventory or they need to hire more security because people are stealing! I returned the unwanted skirt but coming out here was a waste of time and I blame it all on Penney's! read more
