This is for the portrait studio.. Absolutely horrible service. They cancelled my son's appointment for Senior pictures twice! Both times on the day of the appointment, (the second appointment was cancelled 15 minutes before). I was given a variety of excuses: They have to close a 4:30 on Wednesdays so they can close out the books. They double-booked the appointment. They forgot to schedule a photographer. There was a chemical spill and they have to close for a week. I chose them because I've used them in the past, at other locations, but I'll never go there again. Now we are out of time to book another photographer, so no senior pictures for my son, as if this year didn't suck enough. read more

Hair salon: First time here, came in to get a haircut for my two little girls. We were the first ones here. Came from pasco to Kennewick. They opened at 10:00 and couple of stylist were running late. We have been waiting for over half hour and still nothing. How unprofessional the employees are. They come in whenever they want. Will never come here again, I'm ready to leave. This place is a joke. They need more responsible staffing and management that cares. What a joke!!! Then when I'm leaving she decides she wants to help me and wants me to wait another hour till 11:30, to get me in. read more

This store is really terrible. The sales floor employees are treated poorly and it reflects in their customer service. These poor workers are NOT happy. By far, the place that gets it the worst is the Sephora inside JCPenney. There used to be a bunch of artists there that were awesome, but nearly all of the good ones have left because the "beauty leader" that doesn't even know how to apply her own make-up treats them like less than human. I've noticed this manager (her name is Marsha) actually telling the sales floor associates that customers were stealing... When they obviously weren't. On another occasion, I heard her make derogatory and racist remarks about other customers in the store. Just shop at Ulta if you can, or order online. Don't support this business that doesn't care about anyone- customers and employees alike. read more

Just attempted to purchase shoes here. I'm pretty sure the shoe section is one of the circles of hell. The staff looked like zombies and ignored customers talking *directly* to them, while the other shoppers and their children ran about screaming and flailing and ranting... I felt my blood pressure rising and my pulse racing as all this mayhem swirled around me with no end in sight. After ten minutes of trying to get someone's attention to try on a shoe, I gave up and left. I couldn't cope with the environment and decided to take my money elsewhere. read more

This is seriously the worst JC Penney I've ever been to. Yet, I still return because of the convenience factor and decent sales. Rarely, however, do I purchase anything. Today, I was on a quest to buy some curtains. I waited for ffteen minutes wandering the curtain area in search of an associate to find me the curtains I wanted to buy from the display (I already checked inside the little display closets under the curtains, at no avail). There was one lady who was apparently helping another customer. She walked past me several times and did not greet me or ask if I needed help. Needless to say, I left without purchasing anything. Advertisements on their radio network are in SPANISH. Surprise, surprise, eh? AND...their women's restroom was absolutely disgusting. They were dirty and smelled horrible. I held my breath as I reluctantly used their facility. If you must go to JC Penney's, I would recommend venturing to one of the Spokane stores. read more

JCPenney Salon is amazing. I worked with Pat whos been there for 16 years and she was amazing! She spent about an hour and a half on my hair getting rid of all the damage from a previous salon I went to. She was friendly and professional. My only regret is I couldn't tip more to her. I highly recommend getting your moneys worth and seeing Pat or any of the other stylists! read more

This visit was excellent! They aren't always so this was a pleasant surprise. The cashier that helped me (Alyssa) was AWESOME! As I was checking out, I mentioned there was a pair of shoes I wanted but they didn't have them in my size. She said she could check inventory and they might have them in the stock room. She checked and it showed they had one pair left. She went to the back to find them for me! They weren't in there so she continued looking on the sales floor and found them in an obscure place where they didn't belong. She really went above and beyond. I appreciated that so much. Recently made two attempts to buy a suit from JC Penneys. Found my size jacket (I'm a plus size, but still not in the Big Sizes), and could not get slacks to fit in my size. Clerk sold me the jacket, and told me to keep looking on line to order the matching pants. After a month, finally took the jacket back, and got my money back, as they are not making pants in that size any more. Even worse, I tried ordering a suit on line, again, getting the jacket immediately, and placing an order for 2 pair of matching slacks. After 3 days, the slacks order was listed as back ordered, and kept being the same (it will be ordered in 2 days from when I would check), before finally, I was informed that the order was being cancelled, as they were no longer producing those sizes any more. Really bizarre thing is that Penneys asked me to review, and my comments were that while the material and such was more than satisfactory, the failure to be able to produce matching slacks for a suit was very disturbing and in view of happening twice, it was really telling! Guess what, the review was rejected, as they apparently didn't want their failing business to get the word that they can't provide service, so I was totally unable to voice my problem. I've dealt with these folks for years, and have really gotten some great and long lasting clothes from them, but with this fiasco, I think I'm done trying to get something in business clothing from JC Penneys. I'd like to think this is temporary, but with my daughter having worked for them for a number of years, they have gotten so clueless about dealing with customers, that I think this is just the final straw! I hope you can get straightened out, but I have my severe doubts that you guys are going to be in business as a retailer in the next 3 years! read more

What a mess! Whoever manages the kids' department needs to get it together. There were more products on the floor than on the shelves and the sizes on the hangers rarely matched the product on the hanger. It was an absolutely disorganized mess. read more

We found shoes and jeans. We asked them to be held at a register near where we entered the mall planning to purchase them on our way out. Walked the rest of the mall looking for toys (found nothing) in about 15 minutes. Went back to the register to purchase our items and they, nor the associate Chad, were anywhere to be found. They couldn't even find him on the radio to ask what he had done with our items! Apparently they didn't want that $100 sale. We left with nothing. No wonder they're going down. read more

I have had several bad experiences at this store. I ordered something a year and 1/2 ago to pick up at the store. I tried 3 times to pick it up, lines too long, I didn't have an hour to wait. I called the store, they gave me a corporate number because my item wS returned to them. They kept promising a refund, 1 1/2 year later, still haven't gotten it. I gave up. Most recently tried to buy an advertised item, they didn't honor the price or my coupon. I'm done with JC Penney!!!! They are not an honest company to deal with. BEWARE read more

I returned some items I bought for Christmas WITH A COMPLETE RECEIPT. They would not give me a gift certificate- instead they INSISTED on crediting a debit card that no longer existed. I had explained to them that Bank of America was bought out by Washington Federal- and my Bank of America card had beed cancelled. Basically, JC Penny told me it was now my problem. The credit will NOT show up at Washington Federal- completely separate accounts. I have spend WAY TOO MUCH time trying to get my money back, both from Penny's and Bank of America. Each company is insisting its not their fault. Wrong. I had a receipt. After hearing my story, they still credited a card that no longer exists. I am out the money, and my husband is out his Christmas presents. I will NEVER shop JC Penny's again! Horrible!!! read more

The employees of the store have made an effort to be friendly, helpful and courteous to the customer. Since the recent negative experience I had with them, which I've mentioned to them, efforts to please have been generated. The store has a variety of merchandise I can select from and I've always been able to find clothes with style that fit and for a great price. I do shop there several times a month and drive a distance to get there, so do appreciate when shopping experience is good. read more

So during the month of August, JC Penny's is providing kids with free haircuts, so I decide to take the little boy I am watching this summer who happens to be Autistic. He is so excited for his hair cut as we have been talking about it all morning and he chooses three items to bring with him to keep him entertained: a stuffed animal, musical toy and of course Oreo cookies. He crawls into the chair and immediately puts his hands on his ears which is normal for him to do and begins to squeal and laugh in excitement. The stylist looks at me and says, "I'm not going to cut his hair. He's not sitting still and is screaming." My reply, "He has Autism and he is expressing how happy and excited he is!" She said, "Well...I don't cut AUTISTIC kids' hair!" I was so ticked and disgusted...picked up my boy and told her we will never be back again and walked out. I had to go outside to calm down before talking with the manager. In which, he offered us to come back in again for a haircut. Really??? No thanks, I told him we would NEVER come back to JC PENNY's. read more

Literally the worst experience at a Sephora ever at this location. I'm a beauty insider and buy my makeup from Sephora exclusively for the past 15 years, spending quite a bit monthly. Today I went in to pick up some concealer. My color had only one box and it had been opened, so I opened the drawer below to see if there was stock underneath. Keep in mind no one greeted me, asked if I needed help etc. I had determined they did not have an unopened box in my color when an associate said " I can't have you digging around in the drawer. Is there something I can help you with?" ... Super rude attitude and the exact opposite demeanor of someone trying to be helpful, while also reprimanding me! I was not "digging through" the drawer like a scavenger, I simply looked in for boxes of a similar size. I didn't make a mess of anything and would have appreciated an approach with a better attitude. I informed her I did not need help and took my business to Macy's and I'd suggest everyone do the same. If the drawers shouldn't be opened perhaps post a sign or lock them...OR have the associates on the lookout when customers come in and need some help. And a simple, "Oh, I'm sorry no one helped you yet. Is there something I could get for you?" would have been the appropriate approach. read more

This store is so messy all the time. Doesn't matter what time of day i go in. I've tried taking my daughter to shop the junior's department several times over the last few months hoping that the store will be cleaner at different times of day. Each time we went in it was so messy we gave up and left because it was unshopable. Not sure what changed because it didn't used to be like that. I give two stars instead of one because I was still able to shop the Worthington brand section for myself. read more

I ordered something online to pick up at the store. I had to leave town unexpectedly and was unable to pick up the order. Although the order was sent back to their warehouse they still charged my card and refused to refund it unless I came into the store. I won't order from them again. There's no reason why they can't have refunded my card over the phone, especially when they know the merchandise was never picked up. They can easily charge my card over the phone but not refund it? Very poor customer service once again. read more

I need to specify that this review is strictly for the Sephora located in this JCPenney location. The service here is deplorable. It's fine if you already know what you're after or just would like to be free to browse, but if you actually need something from this lot, you're in the wrong place. I've been in twice recently to purchase products that I've researched online to verify that the items are indeed in stock in this location. Both times I'm told that they are out of that particular item(s). Mind you, I understand that there's a three hour window for accuracy of stock on hand, and it's possible those items may have sold prior to my arrival. That said, I've decided to keep checking the in stock status for a couple days after each encounter with the same results. Items are always listed as available at this location. Ok, so this tells me that their on-hands are off and should be addressed at store level to ensure they are getting enough supply from their warehouses to meet the demand. First visit I made, they told me they were out of stock and I then asked if they could order the item and have it shipped to me for free (which is a service they offer when they don't have an item, however this time, I had to ask for them to do this for me). They tried looking up the item and couldn't find it in their system, but told me I could order it from their website from my home...which would cancel out the guaranteed free shipping. I mentioned that and got a shrug and "sorry" and was sent on my way. (I did end up ordering it online, but that fiasco is an entirely different yet equally exasperating experience.) So, my next visit I was again after something I searched for online and found they had in stock at this location...until I got there. Same unqualified employee tells me they are out of stock and have been out of stock for months on that particular item. I explain that their website lists it as available and perhaps they should make sure to adjust their on hands accordingly so as not to have this situation happen again. Her answer: "We do inventory once a year and that's when the numbers get fixed." Seriously?!?! So what this looks like is you are all so incompetent that people have literally walked out of your store with product without paying for it, and even though you have customers who legitimately wish to purchase that exact item, you are unwilling to maintain your inventory levels to ensure you're able to make sales on it. However, you keep a tester of said item on your display dispite knowing that you've been out of it "for months" and have no intention of taking the steps necessary to ensure that you're able to get it back in stock. How do you function? How do you make sales if you don't have product? But mostly, how do you have a job when that is how you speak to your customers? I've worked retail for almost 30 years, and I've dealt with some particularly heinous customer service in my lifetime, but this particular Sephora location (and their online ordering altogether) is absolutely one of the worst I've had to endure. read more

My favorite salon is JCP SALON @ Columbia Center Mall. I love all the stylists they are very friendly, listen well to my hair concerns. I am highly satisfied every time I come in for my appts. The girls always rebook to make sure I am in and out in a timely manner on my next visit. Regis n Chris always keep me informed on the sales in the store. Of course I finish at the salon n proceed to Sephora to see Beca or Meghan. With great promptness I am well informed an I have all my shopping done in Sephora. Then of course I proceed into all the departments to finish my shopping needs. I am always glad to get all my shopping done in the store. This review is for the Sephora. My wife spends thousands of dollars a year at Sephora and has never had a problem. She needed some false eyelashes applied for a function, bought lashes and glue and requested if she could get them applied with some eyeliner, not an outlandish request as they are a beauty store and apply makeup to the face and eyes all day long. Guess what? They refused to apply them, said the management had taken all the open lash glue and that applying product to the eye area was a liability. Excuse me??? YOU APPLY EYELINER, MASCARA AND EYESHADOW ALL DAY! It's your job!!! So if lashes are a liability then wouldn't anything involving the eye area be a liability? Let's just take it a step farther and say that anything they put on your face could be a liability. I know they require a $50 purchase towards a makeup application but when you are a Rouge level beauty insider, everything is done for free. Wife says she will drive to Spokane or Seattle to shop at a real Sephora, never wasting time here again. Zero stars if it were possible read more

So I just got home from shopping at JCP. I went for school clothes for my two kiddos ages 7 and 11. Great selection of girl clothes found a lot great deals, not so much for my boy but no big deal. My son mentioned he wanted a haircut and the sales associate suggested we go to the salon downstairs because kids cut were on sale for $10 right now. We get down there and see no one waiting and they were basically able to get us straight back. The beautician who was cutting his hair was named Kasey and she asked if he could hold still for his haircut, my 7 year old son said yes he would. Well she starts cutting with the clippers and guess what, it tickles so he flinches a bit and raises his shoulders. She immediately stops glares at him and huff "you said you wouldn't move". This continues for about 5 minutes with her stopping every time and getting an attitude with him for moving. I finally had enough and told her if she can't do it we will go somewhere where they can and have cut his hair with clippers before. She explained she was worried my son would break her clippers for making her run them for too long, this is after about a solid 6 minutes. She finally stops and moves to scissors but is sure to scold him that should he move he will make her cut herself. All told the hair cut took about 20 minutes and it actually didn't look bad, but her attitude was terrible, I was extremely unhappy with her. I left no tip and was complaining to my mother on the way out, a sales associate over heard, asked if everything was ok and offered a refund, which I declined. I didn't have a complaint about the haircut it's self just the woman's attitude and behavior. He assured me he would discuss it with her manager, that is the only thing that saved JCP in my opinion. If you have kids take them else where, they aren't super kid friendly. read more
