If I could leave negative stars I would. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THE SALON HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! My husbands hair is so beyond repair it's ridiculous. I have never experienced such incompetent unprofessional hair stylist in my whole life. They let us leave with his hair looking like this and tried telling us it was "fine" and "doesn't need to be fixed". ZERO apologies for the complete and utter hack job done here. They still had the gull to charge me over 100 dollars for this massacre. I am in complete shock that Pennys would allow their salon staff to find this acceptable. read more

This review is strictly about the JC Penny Portrait Studio in Waldorf, MD. The studio is under new management and all I can say is Samantha is the bomb dot com!!! I have a very busy almost 2 year old and Samantha was so pleasant and did a great job on her photos all while taking calls and managing other photographers. She was GREAT and I will definitely be back again to take more photos. read more

Your waldorf location is HORRIBLE!!! 1:45 appointment being told it's an hour and forty-five minute wait and how they only have two camera rooms. Also it's the holidays as if I'm oblivious to the date. Have a paid membership and take my pictures every year at your Springfield location and have never had this issue. If they know they're running over an hour behind they could've at least done the courtesy of calling and telling me. I could've come later. read more

I saw a dress online that I wanted to try on prior to purchasing. Thankfully they had the dress in stock and it fit. Check out was a bit slow as there was only one cashier but i didn't have to wait too long. The store is a bit of a mess but it is 'tis the season to be Christmas shopping so that was expected. On the positive side the dressing room was clean and free of clothing, friendly associates and great coupons to use on top of already special pricing. read more

Excruciating return pricess if you need to return things that have been ordered through JC Penney's website. Only one register in this store can accept such returns ( it is located on the second floor near the pots and pans, so save yourself some trouble going to a register and waiting in line to find that out). and only one employee is ever stationed there. Twice I've been there, and each time the employee did not understand how to accomplish the return and refund. Luckily, the second time, she called for assistance, and other clerk came to tell her what she was doing wrong. After 25 minutes I finally got a refund and return. It seems to me that if there's only one register that can process returns from internet sales, the person who works it ought to be familiar with that process. Both times the transaction has been extremely slow. I have purchased clothing from Lands End and returned it at Sears and that process is extremely smooth and the clerks are quick and helpful. JCPenney needs to do some additional training or better staffing of their return service in store. It would really help customers feel good about ordering on the Internet. read more

Ordered shirts from website for in-store pickup. Ordered these on June 1st. Expected in 4-7 business days. Fine, no rush.. mildly annoyed that I would be charged $3.95 for essentially an interoffice shipment by truck. June 11th... I finally call to see the why my order is still pending. Nobody knows. I attempt to cancel said order and I was told to call the delivery store (what??) -- so I did, and I called the Waldorf store and was told to cancel with the website (jcp corporate)... Really? You charge 4 bucks for people to not get their order? F that, Chase consumer services to the rescue. After trying to cancel the missing order multiple times I had to get a chargeback. Hopefully they lose profits, I won't be shopping there ever again. I will make sure to be as unprofitable as possible. F-CK JCP. read more

Avoid Jcpenny portrait at Waldorf MD. They will lie to get your business but don't deliver what they promised and they don't even care.

My brother and I just had one of the most underwhelming and disappointing experiences at this establishment's portrait studio. Our plans to use photos from this shoot to create a special surprise Mother's Day gift for our mom and also for both of our websites are now ruined. The photographer was extremely inexperienced and our pictures showed this in an undeniable fashion. We had to ask for guidance on poses and she offered very little. What I truly regret is because we were not allowed to view the pictures as they were being taken during the shoot, we could not even make our own self-guided adjustments. However, what amazes me is that the PROFESSIONAL photographer, who did look at her camera after each shot, did not notice the very obvious adjustments that needed to be made to the poses that she suggested. When I expressed my disappointment in her lack of guidance afterwards, it was then that she admittedly acknowledged that she could have done more to make this a better looking shoot for us. Then when I asked if we could redo today after making some adjustments, our only option given by the studio manager regarding this was to come back and reshoot on another day. As I began to explain the amount of expenses that we incurred (clothing prep, makeup, hair, time off our jobs, etc.) to prepare for today's shoot and that rescheduling was not feasible, the manager then interrupts to question in a very derogatory manner the amount of money I invested to come and patronize THEIR studio!! I was highly offended and quite taken aback at her comment. When I asked about receiving a percentage off of the session due the the photographer admittedly stating she did not fully provide the best service, I was denied. Every option I suggested as a way make up for what was lost today was turned down. Though I understand she was very busy, the manager was very dismissive and acted incredibly unconcerned about the lack of expertise displayed by our photographer. Because we would completely lose out on everything that we prepared and invested in for today, we decided to purchase the entire digital album at the advertised price and then just try to salvage as many photos as we could to use for what we had intended. We'll just have to make the best of it now. I must say that I've never felt more taken advantage of and bamboozled. My money was wasted and my expectations of receiving the service that is so widely advertised were completely deflated as we walked out utterly dissatisfied. As a last ditch effort to recoup our some of our investment, I did call the corporate customer service office. The representative was very apologetic, but what she had to offer as consolation didn't come close to a peace offering suitable for what my brother and I lost today. I am so disappointed, hurt and regretful that I entrusted this establishment to do something that meant so much to me. I would not suggest that anyone else make this same mistake...ZERO stars is my rating. read more

This review is for the portrait studio. We made an appointment for my husband and I and our 3 young children for family pictures at the Waldorf JC Penney. Even though we arrived on time we were kept waiting for nearly and hour and a half. Once they took us in we got part way through the session when her camera stopped working. Then she left us sitting there again for at least 20 minutes while she walked out and helped another customer. When she came back in announced we would have to reschedule as the camera was malfunctioning. We asked her how we could avoid having to wait so long for the rescheduled visit, and she admitted that the appointment after ours showed up early so she took them before us to "keep things rolling". So even though we had been on time for our appointment we were left to wait in the hallway "waiting room" with three bored kids for well over an hour. So when she was rescheduling us I said "so if we show up early then we can steal that appointment?". There was no response to that question. I think it's safe to say we will not be going back. In summary, we wasted our entire evening prepping the whole family, transporting 30 minutes to the store, struggling to keep our kids in check for almost 90 minutes, getting half way through photo shoot when the one and only camera fails, waiting another 20 minutes while the photographer abandoned us for other customers, and we still don't have any pictures. read more
