The technician didn't know what he was doing. I called to have the temperature of my dryer checked because the heat on high/hot had been lower for the past few weeks. He checked the temperature by placing the sensors from the wires into the grill in the drum. Then he turned on the dryer and kept the door OPEN. That didn't seem right. I asked if he was doing it correctly, how can the door be left open? So he fiddled around and tried testing with the dryer door closed which pinched the connectors. That didn't work well and he went back to his original way with the door open. Initially his thermocouple read no higher than 78F. I was surprised it was that low. The clothes had felt warmer than that. Later the readings went haywire, jumping around all over the place. Eventually it read 200-300-350F and he pointed it out to me. Come on! Even without repair knowledge, I knew that wasn't correct and told him no, something wrong with his meter. He played with the wires and kept fixing it. After some time, he retested AGAIN and it read 75F and he said it went up as high as 80F. I gave up. I spoke to multiple repair people online & over the phone and they never heard of checking the temperature with the dryer door open. Someone also said it sounded like his thermocouple was bad or his meter was low on batteries. I ended calling whirlpool and a technician came yesterday. Ended up there was lint in the vent tube and that was removed. That was what caused the dryer to not get as hot as in the past. He tested from the back and his thermocoupler read 120-140F as the heat cycled up and down. If I could, I would give JD Appliance zero stars. read more

Got a referral from a good friend and property manager of 4 building. My refrigerator freezer worked but the fridge side wouldn't get cold. I called and a couple hour later they were at my house. My dishwasher needed repair badly, as it was not drying the dishes and the dry cycles would consistently error. Jan ordered the part and was super flexible with scheduling. Owned by two people, I met with one of the partners, Jan, who was competent, careful and very enjoyable to speak with. The springs on my dishwasher door were broken and Jan came prepared to fix that, but went further by helping me to remove some added caging my handyman had placed around the dishwasher in an effort to ward off rodents. The cage was the source of the failure of the door and while he could have just fixed the door and it would have operated for a while, it would have eventually broken down again. I purchased an expensive LG Washer not long ago and naturally just out of warrantee. It's a good product but clogged the drain pump with a questionable blanket that disintegrated in the wash cycle. Much like a BMW, not all appliance repair shops work on them and the parts cost more than gold. If I can give JD a zero I would. He's a liar, not reliable. He came out to see my washer that wasn't working. I asked him if there was a service fee for coming out he said NO.
