I strongly recommend avoiding JD Auto. My experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. First, the condition of the vehicles and the facility was unacceptable. There is a strong odor of dog throughout the business and inside the cars themselves. They have a large dog on-site, and unfortunately the smell is overwhelming--it made the entire experience uncomfortable and raised concerns about cleanliness. The vehicle I purchased was not as advertised. The photos posted online were not even of the actual car I ended up buying, which is very misleading. On top of that, I was told the car had a backup camera, which turned out to be untrue. The salesperson I worked with, Lexi, was responsive before the sale but completely unresponsive afterward. When I reached out with questions especially about the missing backup camera, I received no reply. I also had to follow up myself just to get my title mailed to me, which should have been handled without me chasing them down. Overall, this felt like a very dishonest and unprofessional experience. They also misrepresent and downright lie about the condition of the vehicles. Stereotypical used car salespeople. Never never trust this business. I saved for months to buy a car outright so that I could get me and my kid away from domestic violence. They asked me about why I was buying a car and I told them honestly. We chatted about it, they congratulated me on getting me and my kid free. And then sold me a car that broke down (in the middle of a busy intersection) before I even got home. The repairs would have cost 3x what I paid for the car, minimum. I couldn't even sell it for anything but scrap. The mechanic was shocked that they let me drive it off the lot and said that it was horribly unsafe to drive even a short distance. They saw I was an easy mark. I had never bought a car before because part of my situation was financial abuse and they saw this car was an actual need, an urgent need, and they took advantage of me. I found out the hard way that it is perfectly legal for used car salespeople to lie. There are very very few consumer protections and the words "as is" gives them almost complete immunity from being held responsible in any way. My legitimate fear is that someone is going to get hurt because of these unsafe cars that they're selling. I cannot stress how much I do not recommend anyone trust this business or buy a car here. As a car buying tips in general: -always take someone with you who can help you ask questions -document *everything* including exact wording used by sales people -never buy a car "as is" if you have any other choice (i didn't) -don't assume that they see you as a person. Even if they're really nice, just assume that they see you as a sale because you can never know for sure -you are legally allowed to take the vehicle to a mechanic during a test drive. many do free assessments specifically for cars you might purchase -If you're an open and chatty person, it might be tempting to share information like I did. You may even think it will humanize you to the salesperson. Don't. Keep it professional and reserved if it's not about the car or sale themselves. They can use personal information to identify you as a mark. -always try to get some kind of guarantee, even for an "as is" car. You do have the right to haggle for things such as a short term guarantee that the car will run for x amount of time, etc. I genuinely want to say that I'm sorry to every person who has been a victim of this business.. False picture of the vehicle advertised. The one in the picture was very nice with excellent pictures and detail. When I called to confirm that it was on the lot they said yes. I went there within 15 minutes and was shown a vehicle that was the same make and model but a completely different vehicle. The one advertised was a 4wd and the one at the lot was 2wd and completely worn out. Less than a week later, it was diagnosed as having a terrible transmission and needing to get it replaced. I initially had a good experience purchasing my truck. The vehicle had just arrived and wasn't detailed yet, but I liked it enough to move forward. The sales process was smooth, negotiations were reasonable, and I was told clearly that we would handle remaining items emailing required info, returning the truck for detailing, and getting it taken to the DMV after the sale. When I later called to schedule these things, I was told by the owner that unless it was explicitly written into the contract, they "wouldn't do anything" and that I shouldn't be asking. When I mentioned the salesperson who made the commitments, the owner dismissed it entirely, saying the employee "didn't know what he was talking about." It's concerning when an owner doesn't trust or stand behind their own staff. Had I been told upfront that verbal commitments meant nothing, I would have handled the purchase very differently. I paid the mechanic to install new brakes. I felt a fair deal was had by all. Two months later, the dash lights were on, and was told there may be a transmission issue. After being told there may be a easier fix than a new transmission, I never received a call back Just had the oil changed and the technician handed me a disconnected tube as there was no reservoir for the window washing fluid. When I called the dealer, I was unprofessionally dismissed as the "as is" contract was quoted. Who thinks to check if there was a reservoir for window cleaner? If I could leave a zero star review I would. My husband and I went searching as a sort of last resort for an affordable vehicle. Our salesperson was nice enough and heard all our concerns about reliability and function. He said they don't keep a list of what all is wrong with each car, but each one "is checked out". Less than 24 hours after leaving the lot, we went to have the oil changed only to find out it was not the oil but a crack and damage so severe two separate mechanic shops suggested we get the entire engine replaced costing more than the value of the vehicle. After two days of trying to get a hold of a manager or owner, I finally spoke to Daniel (apparently a co-owner) who went on and on about how "people call us with this all the time" and there is "nothing we can do". I suggested partial credit back; even giving them the vehicle back to get another one from them that we have looked at in advance. He said "there is nothing we can do. We checked out the car" when I pointed out that no, he did not do that, he said "yeah, it was running when you bought it." Both mechanics in different shops told me it was "dangerous" to drive that car. JD is lucky it didn't explode on the test drive as it was "only a matter of time in the next few hours of driving" before there was a catastrophic failure of the engine. And after an over 15 minute call with Daniel, he said he did not care and there was nothing they could do. Daniel blamed his salesperson for any confusion "he's just trying to sell you a car". And maybe he's right? I hope not. I'd like to believe that the sales guy meant what he said when he told me that he's sick about it and he wants to quit - I guess we'll see if he still works there in a few days. Daniel (owner) repeated several times in our conversation that "people call like this all the time" and I asked him "so do the cars you sell catastrophically fail often?" and he said "people call like this a lot and that's why we sell you the warranty". I had an appointment to see a car at JD Auto and the experience was extremely disappointing. The salesman never welcomed me or even acknowledged the people who came with me. Instead of being professional, he walked past us to get a towel and claimed the water on the windshield was just condensation -- but it wasn't. The car had water in the trunk, on the back window, on the floorboards behind the front passenger seat, and on the front passenger side floor. Every concern I raised was brushed off with excuses. He leaned against another car, staring at his phone, rather than actually helping us. At one point he told me that in my price range, I wouldn't find a better car than that, which came across as condescending -- like I didn't deserve better. Horrible experience. We were excited about a red Subaru Forester and had downloaded and fully expanded all photos, which showed zero damage inside and out. It had roof rails but no crossbars. We drove 3.5 hours one way to buy the car. But when we got there, they had a different red Forester that was in their pictures online. i'm more of the many many people that this dealership sold a lemon to. they put a tiny bit of gas in their car just enough for a test drive and for you to drive it home so that the check engine light doesn't come on which they turn off upon parking it to sell. purchase all of their cars from auctions with significant problems and then they turn the check engine light off and sell the car knowing it's going to come back on. They also make a list of phone numbers from people that purchase so if you call back to complain, they purposely don't answer the phone. So if you need to get a hold of them and have a complaint call from a different number. They sold me a car for like $14,000 and the check engine light came on a few weeks later. I took it to an actual dealership that diagnosed it was having multiple leaking gaskets and other issues And the repair total would have cost up to five or $6000. This dealership is so bad that there are actually banks and loan places in different counties that know about them because customers are having to take up so many loans to fix cars after purchasing from them. do not purchase from the dealership unless you want a giant paperweight getting towed back to your house. read more

I traveled all the way from California to Oregon to inspect the vehicle, only to find it didn't meet my expectations. When I asked for my deposit back, the same agent initially assured me I'd be refunded. However, after I provided my card details as requested, he stopped responding to my calls and texts. The dealership's owner later refused to refund my deposit, claiming it was non-refundable--despite their agent's verbal promise and repeated assurances.He hung up on me and and he doesn't answer my calls anymore. This dealership lied to me and misled me into placing the deposit. I also noticed after the fact that the receipt had fine print about deposits being non-refundable, which was never disclosed or explained beforehand.
