I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions…read more During a roofing project at my home using Bluegrass Roofing and Consulting, Georgetown, KY, multiple items were damaged. This included my new composite deck after furniture was dragged across it, a chipped exterior window frame, water intrusion after the roof was removed approximately three hours after rain, a brick knocked loose from the exterior, and several dented gutters. The gutters were replaced and the brick was glued back in place. However, the remaining damage totaled over $3,000 and was not repaired. When I requested repairs, I was told the company could only afford a $250 reimbursement. After I sent a written request asking that the matter be reviewed through their insurance--since the repairs could not be afforded and to seek a fair resolution for the deck damage--I received a letter from their attorney stating that a lien could be placed on my property and that the damages were considered "consequential to the work," citing language in the contract's fine print. I'm posting this to document my personal experience so homeowners understand how damage issues may be handled if they arise during projects with this company.

They were incredibly loud all day Saturday with the repairs. I was told around 1pm that they should be finishing up in an hour so. They were there until at least 6pm. The next day, I have a scheduled repair for my back patio gate, because it had not been closing for 7+ weeks, and I could not wait for my HOA any longer as it was a safety issue. It was fixed and on that Sunday, I was able to open and close my back patio gate. The gutter repairs were (apparently) being continued to Monday morning. It was again loud, but not as loud as Saturday. I came home from work at 4pm to find them taking up my entire back patio. I left shortly after and returned at 7pm, to find the back patio gate unusable again. The same gate that I paid to have repaired the day prior, No one answered the phone number I had for them, despite advertising themselves as "24 hour" service. They were incredibly disrespectful of my property. This is extremely unacceptable for the prices they charge.

The main issue I have, and one that is entirely my fault, is the labor cost. I always get three quotes. Always. But, I've been really busy traveling for work lately and I got into a hurry. I didn't do it this time. That's on me. But, I will share with you my experience to hopefully help you make an informed decision. The shower looks great. I don't have a problem with the workmanship on that. But the initial thought of the work that needed to be done was modified while the work was being done, and the remedy was not as involved as initially thought. I probably should have requested a change order at that point but again, I was in Salt Lake City for a week and time got away from me. I thought the modification should have saved a little money. Kris disagreed. Again, they're good people. Maybe it did turn out to cost the exact same as initially thought. Seems strange to me, but maybe. When Kris explained the final cost it just struck me as high. Kris texted that, "We charge $150 an hour" for labor. Again, this is on me for not doing my due diligence. I agreed to the price. I paid it. Kris cashed the check. Business was done. But, reflecting, $150 an hour for labor is high. Really high. Some might say excessive. It is about twice as high as the highest I've ever seen. Just keep that in mind as the hours add up on a project. It's gonna cost you. The issue I had with the workmanship was missed spots on the painting. It was not well done. I think they might have rushed that and to be honest, I'm gonna have to be ok with that because every hour was costing me $150. I can paint. I'll get to that this weekend. Does leave a bad taste in my mouth, however, after paying such a high labor cost and painting is, well, labor after all. I provided the paint. Look, if you have unlimited funds, I think they're a decent option. Not really sure how to rate them but I do think affordability should factor into a rating as well. So I'm going to go midway on this one. Good people, mixed workmanship, with nosebleed high labor costs.

The young men were courteous and conscientious. The cleaned up the job site on both days and did beautiful work. our fence line was difficult and despite several days of work still a bit overgrown. The estimate was fair and competitive. There were no surprises, and the young men worked in challenging weather conditions.
