We looked at upgrading my ring. We talked with the owner. He was not very friendly and was quite pushy trying to make a sale and even lowered his price by $600 when we weren't jumping at buying the item we looked at. We asked how he can just come down like that and he didn't seem to answer that question. We thought the prices were high for the quality of the jewelry. The gold felt very chintzy and extremely lightweight. When we asked how often he would recommend bringing it in for cleaning and inspection, he told us once a month! Would that be because the diamonds might fall out and it wouldn't be guaranteed? Who has that kind of time. We expected quality that will last a lifetime and we just weren't seeing it at this place. There also was not that big of a selection. He also recommended his rhodium plating for white gold. Later, from another jeweler, we learned that if it is high quality white gold it should never need this process that so many jewelers are promoting to up their sales. After all, my mother's white gold ring has never needed rhodium. My recommendation would be to find a quality jeweler and do your research. read more
