It is understandable that you feel that every effort was made to rectify any issues expressed verbally to you or your staff. But your perception does not supersede our experience and how we were made to feel. I am not a perfect person nor parent, but I welcome growth in all areas of my life. I have learned valuable lessons in this season and will apply this experience to better myself and protect my child. As for the reviews, I only rate only on my experience. Owner is just a very hateful woman who treats all of the dancers terribly. They use a BS curriculum that doesn't teach kids to dance.. & when you change studios, your kid is VERY behind. My kid also broke her ankle in the OWNER'S class as she was making my daughter leap over a cheese mat... DO NOT RECOMMEND WHATSOEVER. read more

My Daughter has been attending to Twinkle Babies class since Jul 2021. She really enjoy dancing tap dance and ballet with very sweet and professional teacher Ms. Lauren! Also, She made beautiful new friends in the class. She always talk about them and looking forward to seeing them every week :) Other staffs are very helpful and very comfortable environment as well. The only reason I had a positive review prior was because they offer you free perks to do reviews. I'm not allowed to actually say my experience because she had her lawyer write me and threaten me and say I wasn't allowed to bring any deformation of her studio and tell about my experience, so I can't say why we don't go to JDM but I can state my review was only for the free perks and does not reflect my opinions of the studio and was removed and changed accordingly. When I originally enrolled my child in dance, I wanted her to stay with the same organization and grow with the same dancers and teachers. Unfortunately, due to poor owner culture, there was unnecessary teacher turnover that caused heartbreak for dancers. We only stayed these last couple years because of the dancer and parent friendships. However, after putting in our required 30-day notice, we were told not to come back and the owner would not allow my child to complete in her last team dance competition. This also happened to 15 other innocent children. Isn't right. There's a reason why so many dancers and teachers are not returning. Find a place that your child will be treated with love and respect. I have never in my life written a negative review about a restaurant, let alone a dance studio. There is far too much to share but I urge you to go ANYWHERE else with your dancer than JDM. We had an absolutely horrible experience. The curriculum does not focus on technique or growing dancers. It's a money making curriculum called "twinkle star" that is absolute garbage. the children and parents are treated so poorly. On top of that, dancers and parents are treated horribly. We tried this out from a Groupon. We were anything but impressed. My child felt very left out and we were extremely uninformed. We wasted so much money on the wrong color shoes, tights, etc as we were not told anything. The classes are very disorganized and it feels extremely cramped inside the facility. This dance academy is closest to us distance wise, but id we willing to pay more and drive further for something else. We took our daughter out and didn't even finish our Groupon. They didn't even call to ask why she never came back or what they could do. Not a good company and will not go back. read more

We were at JDM for over 5 years, but this studio has now got so bad that we finally had enough and got out. All the owner cares about now, is making money by marking up pricing on costumes and other things, along with running her other unrelated side businesses. To give you an idea of bad this studio is now, I pulled out my daughter mid competition season, after already having paid over $300 in marked up costumes that were never even used. I'm also out $165 for a month of classes that were not attended. The owner is so unprofessional that she gossips to parents about other parents and just creates a toxic environment. If you're trying to avoid headaches, please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. read more

I'm only giving a three star due to monetary reasons. Both my girls went there for three months, one of my girls happened to break her ankle while participating in dance class and I asked for a refund on an extra fee that the girls would no longer be able to utilize and the girls only practiced once for. We also paid for a whole month of dance that was not used due to the injury. While my daughters liked their instructor and the location was decent I am a little frustrated that in my particular situation my daughter's injury occurred at the location and they are still unable to refund this extra fee. We did not choose to drop out nor was this a conflict of times, this was simply an injury that has an unknown date in which she can dance again and this studio is not willing to help us out. read more

I have watched this dance studio grow since its inception several years ago. In seeing it personally, talking to parents and seeing the joy of the children's faces, I can say this studio is top notch. The owner and staff are extremely sensitive to the needs of not only the children, but the parents. The instructors are highly trained and attentive to each student. You get what you pay for. Hopefully this post will make the owner learn that a dance company doesn't just require dance instructors but a business mindset. Our experience was mediocre at best at this studio. After attending a premier studio I needed to have something closer as I work quite a distance and heard a review about this studio. Mind you it was from someone who started from the beginning with this group so of course she must've had good things to say. From the onset we started with one class to test it out before asking about completion opportunities. After our first recital which you have to pay to attend ($16pp for each dance set, which means up to $300 for a family of 4 with grandparents), we thought okay small studio just getting started we can let that slide. Then we decided to let her go full force into a "performance team" and were filled with all these opportunities for multiple competitions, etc. Only to find out it's one competition and my 7 year old who is a competitor in anything she does and has been dancing tap, jazz, ballet since she was 2 was put on a team of 4 and 5 year olds. The reason given was the owner felt she could be an example to them. This little group of 3 other girls who turned out to be 4 and 5? Whom the other moms had been told it was a beginner competition team?? The original competition team my daughter was placed on had 8+ girls of ages 6 and older. So why move her to be an example lol? Really! That's your mindset? Nope. My 7 year old danced side by side at Disneyland with her 11 year old and kept up with more agility. The unfortunate situation is when I brought this to her attention there was no acknowledgment or correspondence to my initial concerns until I mentioned I would pull my daughter from all 4 classes she was taking unless I got a response. Though quite a pleasant and very concerning response from her that she had no idea what the ages of the other 2 girls on the team she placed my daughter on,made me realize that she only favored the "originals" as others call them. Wow!, how as a business owner do you not know your clients? Yikes. Time to take a business class: "know your customer", that's business 101. That's a free tip. Long story and the short point is: you get what you pay for. Inexpensive studio. Cheap customer service. Do yourself a favor and go with the big dogs who are organized and know who they are servicing and not the other way around. read more

my daughter attended jdm for almost 3 years. in the beginning it was great she was learning new things and we came to find out wow my daughter has a talent for dance. this girl was dancing at the studio, at the grocery store, at home, literally everywhere and had so much fun. our second year we decided to do the competition team, it was fun and we knew this is what we wanted to continue to do for her. sadly to say over the next year the director julie seemed to have her love for the kids and dancing fade. our second year of competition we were told would be different. (as in you try out and you make the team if you have talent) and that was not the case at all.... my daughter soon to be 6 years old was put on a team with a 4 year old who has never done dance before and let me tell you it shows! she calls practices late on school nights to fit her schedule for vacations and if you have a problem with anything she will just boot you right off the team so make sure to keep your mouth shut! the director will talk about you to the other moms. she ridicules the kids when they don't "get" it. if you don't let her push you around she will take it out on your kid no matter how old they are! she will also try to sell you juice plus which is her side business and it seems like it's her main one because she neglects competitions and dance for this. she uses the fact that she has dallas cowboys cheerleaders there teaching to bring you in. its not worth it! do not waste your money coming to this place. first off, it is way more expensive then other studios right down the street. secondly she could care less about your kids, i mean my daughter was losing love for dance! she would cry to even go to the studio i would have to bribe her! that is what life turned into for my ava at jdm. we are now at a new studio and her face has already brightened. my 5 year old said" julie wants us to be perfect! and we arent! we are only kids and she is mean" wow coming from the heart of a 5 year old says it all! i could go on for days but i will end it at this. the director is a snake! she is fake and she manipulated me into thinking otherwise in the beginning and she will do the same to you! read more
