She is so fun and quickly sensed the mischief in my voice! I mean I am Ryan Reynolds so that goes without saying...wait I'm not really Ryan. But that point is irrelevant. What's key is how Jen was able to motivate 4 multigenerational families to pose for the camera. Light was the fundamental ingredient. The sun was setting fast! I was amazed at how Jen was able to quickly frame her shots and incorporate the sun peeking through nature in her compositions, while she was balancing on logs and rugged terrain. She helped each individual w/ stance, posing, hair, etc. Of course, I demanded the most help as the diva who just incessantly clamored to be front and center. Her eye for color and posing feet and hands was not lost on me. Other than trekking through untamed grass in our Sunday finest on a Friday, the most fun part was perhaps dodging mountain bikes on a live trail. A few whizzed by. There was even one guy on a fancy electric bike. He whizzed by the fastest! I mean nothing says look at me exercising and improving my health like riding an electric bike through a serious trail. Am I right, ladies? Haha! The grandparents had a great time w/ all the grandkids! Jen made this family photography outing a lot, I mean a whole lot of fun! I learned that backlighting with the sun peeking through nature can turn out beautiful photographs. She even showed me a preview! And yes, dare I say she made me look more celeb than Tom Cruise! Definitely humbler than the real Ryan...and with deeper dimples. When we do this again, because my vanity will demand it, we are definitely going to call Jen! Woohoo!

This is her first time touching piano - she saw her friend playing piano and wanted to try. Our goal was to give her the exposure and see how it goes from there. After 3 lessons, she started saying that she doesn't like it anymore --- which I was afraid might happen when it started getting a bit harder (e.g., learning notes, etc). I talked to Teacher Lawrence and he asked what her favorite TV show or song was. I told him about the theme song from "Miraculous Ladybug", and by the following week he had a simple version of the song ready for her to learn. She has been very motivated to learn how to play the whole song. We appreciate how flexible teacher Lawrence is to keep it entertaining/interesting for the kids.

I never write reviews but the whole experience of the Driving School of North Texas in Allen was so…read morebad I felt like this was needed. The people are extremely rude and inconsiderate of your time. I was on time for my driver's test appointment in the morning, and nobody came to greet us or get started on the test. Finally an instructor walked in nearly fifteen minutes later but did not apologize for being late and continued to drag on the already delayed appointment. In addition to that, one of the instructors, Doug, is extremely rude and has even made sexist remarks during driving lessons. Even further, I've called the only number on their website multiple times and nobody ever picked up. I had to call Frisco's location for someone to answer the phone. This is insanely unprofessional. Stay away from this location. I'll never recommend anyone to this location.

I definitely recommend this school for the DPS road test! They are friendly and fair here. My son…read moretook his test here and passed first try. I will have my daughter come here as well when it is time for her test. The only negative I would say here is that the appointments on line are not really needed or used. I would recommend calling a couple of days before your test and just verify if they are available. He will let you know if that day works and then you just show up between business hours. The only problem with this is you may have to wait 30 minutes or so (as we did) because we had to wait for a driving class the was just ending. Otherwise great school and will be back!

Our 10 and 11 year old girls have been attending SOR McKinney for just about 18 months as part of…read morethe Rock 101 program. We discovered the program through a colleague of my wife's whose son has been a participant in the Frisco school's program for several years. Both my wife and I were in band in school many years ago, so we thought this would be a great opportunity for the girls to learn a practical instrument and get some performance experience to help them not be shy. Since joining the program, the girls have had a number of instructors: one that has an advanced education in classical guitar, one that has a higher education background in early childhood development, and several that have toured nation-wide as real musicians. Some of those instructors were in fact students once in other SOR schools. And throughout the program, the entire staff, and even culture of the school, has been very positive and supporting. In the past 18 months, the girls have played multi-venue concerts in Deep Ellum twice, they have played in a battle of the bands at the House of Blues, and numerous other concerts at bars and restaurants in and around McKinney and Frisco. My younger girl stays glued to the electric guitar, and my older girl mainly plays the drum kit, but sings and plays bass on the side. Together, our girls teamed up with a little boy in their 5th grade class and played a song (from SOR) in their elementary school's talent show a few months ago, and they rocked the house and put some elementary school teacher's in shock! My wife and I were in awe, and we both commented what it would been like to have been rock stars even before going into junior high and middle school (we were nowhere near this cool!). I haven't seen any program similar to what SOR is doing: they work on temp, rhythm, and style all the while driving the kids to perform in front of others. They leave reading music and theory to the public schools to teach (which for me was the not-so-fun part). Doing it this way, the kids are only learning that music is fun and rewarding, but my oldest is starting 6th grade in the fall where she will start complementing what she has been learning with those extra skills of reading music, etc. Its been a very good program; very positive results. To address the other reviewer that alluded to drugs being present at the school: I am a software development manager that runs an international organization which in the past has required me to have security clearances. My wife is a top nurse practitioner who is respected as deeply knowledgeable in multiple fields. There is absolutely no way we would allow our kids to be involved in this program if there was any hint of illegal activity. I have sat in their building for countless hours waiting for practices to be over, and I have never seen this. The building is definitely shabby chic (meaning a little bit of a dump), but so are many of the performance venues--that's part of what it means to be a performer. But, its good enough; the program is expensive enough without needing to make it into a lounge. We highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful spring break outing at Heard! We love this museum and wildlife sanctuary about…read more30 minutes away in McKinney. Heard offers short and longer nature trails with tons of areas to rest, shade, and signs. Our favorite parts this time were the dragons along the path. Kids from ages 2+ can have a fun time here. Bring a picnic, cold water, and enjoy nature!

It has been fun watching The Heard develope over the years. I remember when it first opened decades…read moreago. I visited and left feeling I'd just walked through a hot pasture. Which,it really was back then. Jump forward and civilization has grown right up to the doorstep. However,once you park and enter,another world opens up. They've done a great job of developing the place where you can go and see what north Texas was in its unspoiled condition, as well as participating in organized activities. Such things as flashlight night walks for all ages to the fund raiser I attended today. There's something for everyone especially if you're new to this area. If you haven't been and especially if you have kids...check it out !
