I've been coming here since my boys were on the Pacifica Sea Lions team years ago when Mary and Pete were the Coaches and I would do my laps in the other lane. Fast forward to Covid times and love the fact that they have generous open lap swim times to accommodate retirees and folks that still work. They also have evening lap swim hours as well. Best of all are the regulars that come here which during the time that I swim are mostly retirees. Did I mention they have water aerobics daily from 11-12 noon where they average 20 plus attendees? 4 solid stars and it would have been 5 if the mens locker room was maintained better.

A City pool but Olympic approved lanes. Water Aerobics with Julie as Instructor is exactly what you'll want.

SCAM SCAM SCAM This…read moreswimming pool has a very scammy predatory business practice. My child already graduated from La Petite Baleen at level 5. She swam there for at least 6 years and already knew all the basics. My wife was looking for something for her to do to help her maintain her skills. She was researching online and found this place that was ran by Daly City Recreational Center and wanted to give them a try. The first time she took our daughter there they did a quick assessment and said she belonged to Level 1. My wife reasoned with them and they ended up putting her in Level 2 (Jellyfish). We paid for 4 classes and they told us at the end of the 4th class they will evaluate her again. I was there with her the first 3 classes and all I saw was them putting my daughter on the side of the pool and had her kick her legs and swing her arms in the water while holding the side of the pool. Today was the 4th class. Before she began today's class I asked the guy at the reception counter about the rating. He told me he already got the eval result and that my daughter has failed. So all together they already gave her a failing grade from just 3 previous classes, even before her 4th and final class has started. I told him she already graduated from La Petite at Level 5. How did she fail when all she really did most of the time was kick her legs at the side of the pool. He gave me a non-answer about list of stuff she need to do and the teacher said she failed. My wife was angry. At the end of the today's class (the 4th class) my wife asked the teacher how come my daughter failed. The reason the teacher gave us was another non-answer like "her legs were too low". Even though she never told my daughter to kick her legs higher during class at all. There were zero instructions given. Secondly, when the teacher had her swam out in the open pool, she had my daughter laid on her back and kick her legs in the water while the teacher walked backward holding my daughter armpit. The teacher basically kept holding her back and didn't let my daughter swam freely and let her perform. But when my wife asked why did she hold my daughter's back the teacher lied and said my daughter told her to hold her. My daughter said she never told her to do that and that the teacher only kept repeating simple instructions like "swim in a circle". The whole class was only 25 minutes and there were 5 students in class. The teacher pretty much carried each student in circles and called it swimming. Each student had only around 5 minutes of "swim time" per class. While the rest of the 20 minutes she just swing her arms and kicked her legs at the side of the pool. A complete waste of time and money. My feeling is that they don't want to move students up too fast and they want to milk as much tuition fee from the parents as possible. Honestly, from what I could see, most parents just put their kids here so they have something to do. Many parents just day dream or scroll on the phone instead of paying attention to what they are teaching their kids. At about $10 per class it is cheap, I'll give you that. But you really do get what you paid for. And with the quality of "education" they give your child, it's totally not worth it. I am not sure where all the positive reviews came from. I am pretty sure they are either from people who works there or from parents who just like the big pool. I read through all the 1 star reviews on Yelp and Google review and they are inline of what we've experienced. This is not a swim class, it's more of a children day care with water.

I'm writing an update to my last review because they've updated the sign-in/sign-out system so it's much better now via an iPad rather than the binders. They've also added a water station for refilling water bottles. They no longer have a food stand, but they do have vending machines for snacks and drinks so that works pretty well. Also an improvement is the adult swim lane. previously there was only adult swim 15 minutes every two hours so that was difficult! Now there is always one lane which I really appreciate! Lifeguards are great, and i'm glad that they tell kids not to run. Kiddie pool was not functional this year due to a leak, and because it needs to be overhauled/rebuilt, it's unclear if it'll be available next year. I think most members love having this pool to go to during the season.

You sign up for day of the week, and get a 1 hour swim lesson with other children around the same age (6 months - 6 years for Cuttlefish). The first 15 mins of the class are free time in the water, you can play with the various water toys. The next 15-20 mins is Karaoke in the Pool, with nursery rhymes in a circle time. The last 15-20 mins of the class are divided into age groups, with the youngest kids on one side, and older kids on the other. Some of the teachers are really wonderful, Mary is my favorite, as she has a passion and affinity for working with the little ones. All the teachers are great though in different ways. My daughter loves swim lessons here, even though the class week after week is the same thing lol. The classes are also inexpensive compared to Le Petite Balen. The makeup sessions are very flexible too - just be sure to call Monday morning at 10am the week you'll be needing a different day - and generally they're able to fit you in. Or even in my case, they couldn't, but said to call the following week to have me do the make-up, which was so kind. Parking is super easy here too, and conveniently located next to the Zoo and Sunset district.

You guys need to just switch to antibacterial wipes to avoid all this headache. 1) Save some trees and use antibacterial wipes. Antibacterial wipes are made of polyester so less or no tress are harmed in making of these wipes and I am sure you guys go through countless rolls of paper towels each day. 2) Your spray bottles sucks and are always broken. Antibacterial wipes are already soaked in cleaning solution so you don't even need to use your janky spray bottles anymore. 3) Less mess and trash. Since the antibacterial wipes are already soaked in cleaning solution, you just need 1 wipe to wipe down multiple machines after each use. Compare that to ripping up 2 paper towels and spraying it with solution to clean 1 machine is a no brainer. The mens bathroom are still dirty and smells like piss constantly but I think some men are just dirty in general and no amount of cleaning is going to change this. The treadmill machines are way too close that they're practically touching one another. You guys need to think about separating the treadmill machines and giving more space in between them. I don't need to feel the sweat dripping off the person next to me.
