The prices are exorbitant but you will get a personalized experience that is far above those at the usual nail salons. Nothing feels rushed here. The space is tight and not luxurious considering the price point. These did not bother me as the quality of the pedicure was more important. Jeanne is very nice and took great care on the nails. First, I don't know what JB has against Cathy since I've gone a couple times and never had a problem. If something is bothering me, I'll tell her and she'll fix it right enough. Once I had the smallest spot where I smudge my big toenail and I came in that week and they fixed it quickly (and free). No one else would have noticed (trust me I surveyed my friends), but they just fixed me right up with a smile and even got me in earlier than my appointment! That being said, I came here to get my nails done for my wedding and an addiction was born. I'm not someone who gets their nails done often, but after seeing Jeanne and Cathy I have gone more in a few months than I have in years. I ended up finding Jeanne's place through an article where other nail professionals were asked to name who they considered the Best of Boston. Having been smart enough to try Jeanne's I can see why she gets such great reviews. Kristie's review hit it right on the head - the care and service you get here is unrivaled. It's a small, bright and cozy location on Newbury that easily accessible. Cathy is like everyone's mom and Jeanne is sweet and professional. Every time I come I wish I could just move in and stay for ever because you feel like a million dollars through your treatments. I HATE having pedicures since I'm so ticklish, but the pedicures here are heavenly and after talking to Jeanne I feel like there's actual health benefits to taking care of your feet. This is a treat I'm now willing to splurge on because I feel so well taken care of and always leave feeling beautiful, relaxed and with soft hands and feet. Awful. the owner's mother did my mani and pedi. i don't usually write reviews here, but i was so disappointed and she did such a bad job, i felt compelled to write this. My big toe is so sore that i cannot take the weight of a sheet. i am in so much pain and it's been a week. i did not have any problem with ingrowns or anything. the manicure left my nails in worse shape than when i went in. i asked her not to cut my cuticles, she said just a little for hangnails, i said ok and now i have ragged cuticles. unbelievably angry. i will call the owner, but it seems a little odd because the woman who did the service is her mother. I have been going to see Jeanne Lee for eight years now. She is the best pedicurist I have ever been to in Boston without exception - I have tried plenty (like when I forgot to schedule with her and, whoops, she's fully booked, so I have to try and find a place that can squeeze me in). She gets pretty booked up around holidays and in the summer, so I try and schedule as far ahead as I can using her online booking tool, which is great for me since I don't think about scheduling these sorts of things until after work hours. Her work is always high quality, and she is incredibly thorough and kind. Her massage chairs actually work - which isn't a given in Boston. Her foot massage is amazing. She does a great manicure, too. She somehow makes my toes presentable, so I am incredibly grateful for her and her skills. I highly recommend her! read more

Jeanne is super sweet and provided excellent service. Not only did she fit me in at the last minute but she took excellent care of me too. (I was only in town for a couple weeks for surgery at Dana Farber CI otherwise I would've visited her salon several times!) I have been going to Jeanne Lee for about 10 years. Once in a while, when she's not available and I need a pedicure fast, I'll try another place, but I always go back to Jeanne because I've never had a better pedicure. Jeanne loves what she does and she is a perfectionist. I'm sort of particular about the shape of my toenails, and if I'm not happy with the shape of a nail, I just tell her and she fixes it. No attitude, no questions asked. She solved a painful issue that I had been enduring for years, and she even helps me choose colors! Jeanne Lee gives the best pedicure I've ever had, feet-down! While I don't usually have professional manicures, I do enjoy having my feet and toenails cared for. Jeanne's services are just great! She specializes in individualized care, and takes time to make sure any little issue you might have with your nails or feet are dealt with expertly. The polish always stays on much longer than any other salon's applications do. And she will even do fun things like mutli-color combinations or put separate colors on each toe. I have recommended her salon to all my friends and they have become just as impressed as I am. By the way, some of my friends have decided they prefer Cathy, Jeanne's mother; and say she is just as thorough and particular. Regardless, I can't imagine anyone coming away from this salon not raving about it! If you've never had nail care other than the usual neighborhood "assembly-line nail salon" treatment, you'll be thrilled with Jeanne Lee Salon. I have been going to Jeanne for pedicures for almost 10 years and she is undoubtedly a master at her craft. She spends one delicious hour transforming your feet. Careful, thorough and magical, a pedicure with Jeanne is nothing like the quickies you get at most salons. She obviously loves what she does and takes pride in her abilities to heal and beautify even the most challenging of feet. I don't know how she does it, but even during the height of barefoot summertime her polishes look perfect for 4-5 weeks. She studied reflexology in order to be able to give healing foot and calf massages to her clients.
