Where to start? This diner has a very 50's diner feel, it's almost like nothing has changed inside since 1952! The wood walls and steel edged tables are nostalgic in the best sort of way. The staff couldn't have been any better! Quick, attentive and over the top polite! The food was amazing. I got the western omelette with a side of biscuits and gravy. The omelette was delicious, perfectly seasoned and loaded with plenty of ham ,onion, green pepper and mushrooms. I judge most breakfast restaurants by their biscuits and gravy and they did not disappoint! The biscuits were perfect and the gravy was seasoned well, loaded with sausage and the perfect consistency! The only negative I could find here is that their bathroom is super tiny, but I didn't stop here for the bathroom! read more

Visiting the coldwater Michigan area for our first overnight, we were anxious to try the highest rated breakfast suggestion. Very cool location and we could tell right away it was popular because many people were there. We got seated in a very busy (chaos) type of environment, however, it was a Saturday morning. What caught my eye was the comments about the B&G and them being "homemade". I love to visit "Diners" as the food is usually really good. I had my eyes set in that and the pancakes. My Orange Juice was extremely bitter and struggled to drink it. While we waited for our breakfast, we noticed the amount of "toast" being served was off the chart! Lol. I know why! It was amazing sourdough bread and toasted to perfection. Nice thick slices! Being a B&G snob and really appreciating a good homemade sausage gravy, I must say I was very disappointed. The biscuits were good but the gravy was (meh). Not saying it was not homemade, but "Canned gravy" has a very distinct peppery taste and this gravy seemed to be in that line. I asked for crucially bacon and it was floppy and cold. Pancake was an "A" for sure! My wife got eggs and potatoes and they were good but not great! The ambiance is very cool and the waitress was so nice. Service to get in and check out is again, very chaotic while busy. No one said thank you when we left or nothing other than the waitress. I've reviewed Jeannie's before but I feel it deserves another review after living here for 2 years. I grew up on east coast diner culture. Jeannie's might not match up to the diners I grew up with, let's face it no one does diners like Jersey, but it comes pretty close. This little 50's style gem, which for me is reminiscent of one of my favorite shore point diners, is always hopping and yet the wait is never long. The service is always friendly, the establishment always looks clean, and the food is consistently delicious! Great work, Jeannie's! You've given this Jersey girl a little taste of home. read more

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast. A nice little place. I ordered two eggs with the homemade corned beef hash and some sourdough bread toast. The homemade corned beef hash felt like it was from a can, even though it wasn't. They need to kick it up a notch, and make it with chunky potatoes plus some onions, green peppers and corned beef. Coldwater, a small town in Southwestern Michigan just north of the Indiana border, lies on what was once a Potawatomi Indian trail between Detroit and Chicago. I stopped in Coldwater's downtown while in route to Indiana and found a sweet little independent diner for a quick breakfast. Jeannie's Diner stands proudly under a bright blue awning on Coldwater's Main Street. Sitting on a stool at the counter, I could tell that Jeannie's draws a solid clientele of local residents as the servers greeted many diners by name. I ordered a basic plate of eggs sunny side up. It was good...but what I was really impressed with was the outstanding service. Frequent coffee warm-ups and even more noticeable was genuinely friendly service...something that seems to be harder to come by in the larger metro areas. Jeannie's provides a nice alternative to the Egg McMuffin when cruising down I-69 in western Michigan. 4-stars! read more

BAM! We were heading home from Union City and Yelped Jeannie's Diner during our drive. What a quaint little diner in Coldwater Michigan. I had the farmer's omelette w 2 eggs, 3 eggs was an option, and it was fantastic. The ladies had blueberry pancakes and those were so yummy and exploding w berries!
