Stopped at Trainwreck Grill & Ale House while traveling through because the historic train depot looked interesting, and it ended up being one of the best stops of our trip. The bruschetta appetizer was amazing and came with three different sauces that were all delicious. The spring cocktails were great too. Especially the Passionfruit Margarita. We loved it enough to order another round. For dinner we had the Railroad Street Tacos and Patty melt with the Roadmaster Mac, and both were excellent. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Our server, Clara K., was wonderful. She was attentive, gave us several great recommendations, and shared a little bit of the history of the building, which made the experience feel more personal. The atmosphere really makes this place stand out. The stained glass windows, hardwood, historic details, and old weight scale give it so much character. The restaurant was clean, the staff was super friendly, and it looked like they even have live music at times. Definitely worth checking out if you are near Coldwater or just passing through.

Great food and service! I had the salmon and friends had salads and a burger. Such a nice ambience with the train station building and the historical setting. A big applause for the great band they had playing Tuesday night.

I popped over the MI border from Indiana to check out Coldwater. I looked around for a place to grab a bike, and Trainwreck looked interesting. We were not very busy today, so we sat by a high top by the window. The place is like a log cabin with many wood posts, paneling, and supports. Pretty dark. A full bar is available. We stuck to soda water this trip. The food menu was pretty varied, and I had the mahi tacos. Each taco (3) was a delicious serving of fish, with an excellent coleslaw in the taco. Service was good and on point. It's an interesting place and right near the railroad tracks. Recommended while in Coldwater!

The name of the restaurant is what caught our attention on a day trip. Let me tell what an memorable experience we knew it was going to be good when we pulled located inside an old train Depot even with a train parked outside walked in a so much of the original bones still intact the walls are filled with railroad decor. I went in looking for a good Breaded Pork Tenderloin and it was on the menu with so many other great things too choose from. I think everyone will be able to find something. The service you receive will bring you back again and again.

Located in Coldwater MI, this is a hidden gem for food enthusiasts looking to explore a wide array of flavors under one roof. The food itself is very good, highly recommend the Wisconsin cheese curds because they are delicious! The bar has quite the heavy pour but a wide variety of options. Our server had a large group but he did great managing all of us. While the food shines brightly, the ambiance could benefit from some updating. The decor feels a bit dated and could use a refresh to match the vibrancy of the menu. However, the friendly service and the inviting aroma of freshly prepared meals more than make up for any shortcomings in the atmosphere.

In town for work and decided to check out a local spot and landed at the Trainwreck. I think some of the people in previous reviews came with high expectations, forgetting that this is a "Grill & Alehouse". With that being said, I went with the blackened chicken alfredo to eat - It was good. Not great, but good. There were only about 6 or 8 taps of beer so the selection wasn't huge but the variety was good. From what I could see, there were only two people working the floor; they weren't super busy so it worked. If you're the type who needs constant attention, you would have been disappointed but if you're the type who just needs that every so often check-in, this was perfect.

Great food! Service is pretty good. Oddly lots of fruit flies - be better without those. But will return!

This place needs to get it together. Seems like it's in beta version. Service is pleasant but slow beyond what should be endured.

I finally flagged them down to get an update on the status after waiting 75 minutes. While we were waiting for our food 3 tables were sat around us and they all got their appetizers and dinners before us. There were maybe 20 people in the restaurant so they couldn't even use being busy as an excuse. Once we the waitress brought our food on a serving tray I told her that we would need checks and to go containers because we are now on a time crunch to our next destination. She put the food on another table and walked away. I served our plates myself so we could finally start eating. All food came out except one meal which we were assured was coming. 15 minutes later that last entree finally arrived and it was no correct. At that point we just left. We were a table of 7- 4 adults and 3 kids. One of the kids meals was the one forgotten. In my experience the kids should be served first. The manager came over and gave us $9 off our bill of $80 which I think is pathetic for now having to eat our food at home cold and reheated.

Arrived around 5:40pm on a Saturday night. The place was busy. I was seated fairly quickly. I chose…read moreto sit at the bar. The bartender took my drink right off the bat and I was asked if i would like a menu. Yes, please. A few minutes later my drink was delivered and my order was taken. Not a very long wait at all. I didn't have to wait very long for my 10 piece Jamaican jerk bone-in wings. They were nice and crispy. Saucy as well. A little pricey at $1.50 a wing, but they were tasty! I would've given this place 4 stars if it wasn't for the smell from the bar drains. They smell like they need flushed on a regular basis. With 30 beers on tap, I'm sure those drains are full of slime. YUCK!
