I am 37 and needed to get 4 wisdom teeth taken out, my dentist recommended Dr. Alford. Having to get them removed later in life I was a little apprehensive about the procedure and recovery. From the initial consultation to the day of the surgery Dr. Alford put my mind at ease. I had the IV sedation which was a piece of cake. The procedure and recovery went perfectly. Thumbs down for Jeff Alford. He did not disclose any bone grafting to me for an implant. If he had mentioned that the bone grinding are from a cadaver I would have bolted from there and been in my car like a shot. One week later when I went for my check up the receptionist told me that I had a bone graft from a cadaver. That too only when I asked her what that particular charge was for. I asked this question before the implant and was told it was for the other extraction. A lie. Jeff Alford lies to me saying that he did tell me and I was not paying attention. A blatant lie. Even if I was not, the very mention of a bone graft would have made me attentive. I like to know everything done to me in any treatment, so I am not the type of person not to pay attention. I have very good concentration powers. I do yoga daily and I teach yoga. The authentic yoga not the aerobic, gymnastic version being passed off as yoga. Later after the check we found out the bone graft could have been taken from me and not from a cadaver. I was so shocked and refused with hearing this from the receptionist I almost passed out and had to prevent myself from vomiting there and then. I could not eat for two days after being told this horrid fact. I still get revolted each time I think of the bone graft from a cadaver in my gum. Jeff Alford was also so rough and used excess pressure when removing my tooth and putting in the implant he lacerated my right side of my palate deeply and my upper and lower gums. He applied so much pressure I was scared he was going to break my neck. It was as though he was scraping and working on concrete or wood and not a human being, a person.The area of the tooth and palate and gums got infected and were still raw and bleeding at the time of the check up. He prescribed a medicine for this which had to be specially made at the pharmacist. He then lies about this in a letter and said that when I went to him for the check up my tooth and palate and gums had healed. Lies. Then why did he prescribe the medication for healing these areas. The medicine cost me $73. It could not be covered my my health insurance nor Medicare because it had to be specially made. I do not trust him. I do not recommend him to anyone. He should not be practicing medicine. I will not go to him again. Awful! Awful! Awful! read more

I met someone that worked in the office this past Thursday night, June 14th. I explained what problem I was having and that I was going to see a general dentist the next morning. This employee said that I should absolutely NOT go to a general dentist and should call into this office on Friday morning letting them know that this employee told me to call as an emergency and I could be seen to have an x-ray and talk about treatment. Fast forward to Friday morning, June 15th at 8am. Christine or Christina answered the phone. I explained in detail the situation. I was abruptly told in a very rude tone "We don't see consults on Fridays, I will have to make you an appointment for next week." I politely explained the situation again and that I was in pain. I was again told the same explanation. I then got stern and Christine put me hold, came back to the phone saying "the dr's are in surgery most of the day and you need to go see your general dentist". I am know in tears as 1) I am in pain 2) I don't have a general dentist as I am new to the area 3) Can't believe that I am being treated so rudely and with no empathy whatsoever. This girl did not care about my situation. Now, I work for a reputable doctor in lakeway and would be fired if I told a patient that called in pain that we could not at all help them! This is a terrible way to treat someone and I will also be calling to speak to the Dr's to let them know that their staff could not be bothered with someone being referred to them, in pain and needing treatment. read more

He will make you feel comfortable from the start. I had one wisdom tooth removed, while Christopher had all four removed. we were referred to dr. alford by our family dentist for 4 wisdom teeth extractions for my 15yo son, following removal of his braces. in our consultation dr. alford and his nurse, as well as front office staff, answered every medical and insurance question thoroughly, without rushing or dismissing the smallest details. we left confident. we spoke with the office several days before the surgery, and they reminded us of pre surgery tasks and submitted all prescriptions to our pharmacy. on the day of surgery, our start was delayed about 30min so that the doctor could (rightly so) attend to an emergency - they were very communicative and apologetic during the delay. the surgery was a total success, and they allowed my son to wake naturally and didn't rush us out the door, again thoroughly repeating all instructions. dr. alford called to check on alex that night (all was well). we attended our post op followup one week later, and had the same level of professional and courteous treatment by everyone in the office. we highly recommend! read more

I came to Dr. Alford for a second opinion after having bone grafting surgery by another provider in Austin. Upon inspection, he created a plan for implants that cut the timing in half and ultimately cost less than the other doctor. Also, Dr. Alford imparted so much more information and knowledge about the implant procedure that I knew immediately he was the right person to finish what had been already started. With the quality of education and training Dr. Alford has, I feel his services are an extraordinary value. I had two implants placed with IV sedation. The procedure was successful and the recovery was fast with optimal results. I only wish I had gone to him in the first place! read more
