Had to go back to repair implant that was done 10 years ago by Dr Watson. Very simple procedure did not cost a lot and he got it done in one visit. He also gave me the best advice I ever had, I now use the sonicare toothbrush daily. Way to go Dr Painless. read more

I don't think I have every written a bad review before and hate to do so now, but this was the WORST dental experience I'd ever had...and I've had quite a few. I went to Dr. Watson because a tooth under a bridge broke. He recommended an implant but told me it would take a year to complete it. He gave me an option of a 4 crown bridge which I decided to go with. The first Bridge broke in pieces within a year. it was under warranty so he put in another. That one cracked within 6 months. It too was under warranty so he replaced it again. The third bridge was not cemented in properly or it was put on over decay, and it came loose on one tooth. He refused to cut off the bridge and replace it because it was not under warranty since it was his error, he would have to pay for the new bridge. He wanted to leave the bridge on for several weeks to see if it loosened on the back tooth and could be taken off without destroying the Bridge. It didn't loosen so he sent me to a specialist at my expense who said she could not remove the bridge without cutting it off. When I went back to Dr. Watson, instead of offering to fix the Bridge he offered me money (a portion of what a new bridge would cost) for me to go away and find another dentist, and to sign a non-disclosure. He actually said "this is the last time you and I will ever see each other." He suggested I take the money and go to a dentist that used laser to have it taken off. I called 4 dental offices that used laser and none recommended trying to remove a bridge with laser. I did find another dentist to go to and had the bridge removed. By this time the tooth under the loose bridge was decayed and a hole had formed in the gum between the two roots. The tooth had to be pulled and I now need 2 implants and a new bridge. I have filed a complaint with the Board of Dental Examiners and received a letter stating that based on their preliminary investigation they have decided to go forward with a formal investigation. read more

I've seen Dr. Watson and his staff for years, even when he was at Austin Smile Center off Anderson Mill Rd. Now he's at Hudson Bend Dental. I drive from Liberty Hill to Lakeway to see him. His staff and him have welcoming personalities. He's very approachable and builds a relationship with you. I have never been a fan of going to any dentists. People working in your mouth is not fun or enjoyable to me! Having said that, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Watson. read more

They doubled billed us, which insurance caught. Then they said we owed almost all charges for cleaning even though our insurance covers 100 percent. I called insurance and talked to dental office to confirm. Months later they were still trying to scam me into paying all the costs. Stay away from this office. read more

Rude staff member (Christina). She is very unprofessional, I tried to call and cancel because my child unexpectedly fell ill. Christina threatened to charge me a 35$ fee and after a few exchanged words she HUNG UP on me! I asked her if she had any children and if they had ever unexpectedly gotten sick. She is seriously lacking customer service skills. I would do my research before visiting this office! I went to their office with my child, sick with strep, and Christina hid in the back office. Dr. Watson then came out with a confrontational attitude, wanting proof that my daughter was sick. He event went so far as to ask my daughter where her doctor was, trying to get some lie out of her. Next time I guess I will bring her antibiotic with her. This office obviously does not care about customer service! Now because they would not accomodate a reschedule, they have lost a client and many potential clients. read more

Dr. Watson was a real nice guy. Seemed to be very genuine. Put up with all my questions, haha. I only had a scheduled cleaning. The dental hygienist was very gentle and personable which is always nice. Only con, I can't stand those hoses that suck up saliva and they didn't have the little cup filler things. However, that's probably not their fault because the hygienist said that they stopped making them. Even thinking about the hose right now is making me shiver. read more

The office is clean, staff is professional and the equipment seems top notch. My dental assistant was as sweet as she could be and remained professional even though there was a computer issue. She promptly apologized for the inconvenience. Dr. Watson was nice, professional, and gave me a lot of information as he answered my questions. I felt as though my dental exam was very thorough. As I post my review after I've read these others, I will say that they make me a bit nervous. :- /. I will need to have a crown done and didn't have a great experience with my last one. (Not done by Dr. Watson) The other gentleman's comments about his filling have made me a bit apprehensive. However, dentistry along with many medical services are unppredictable and everyone's experience is not always the same. I do think that Dr. Watson going on the record to indicate that he will gladly re-address any issues is how good business should be conducted. WORST DENTAL PRACTICE I'VE EVER SEEN!!! THIS GUY CAN'T EVEN DO A FILLING CORRECTLY!!! I went here for a filling. Immediately after I experienced pain and discomfort. They told me to come back in and have it re-done, so I did. I left the country the next day only to find that the filling still was not done and I was still in pain every time I ate food. My insurance company declined on a small amount of the coverage (which of course isn't the doctors fault), so I when I returned to the US, I had a message from his secretary in regards to the small remaining balance. I said I would have no problem whatsoever paying the bill as long as my filling got completed. She said she would call me back, and that's the last i heard from these unprofessional jokers. Then they had the nerve to send me a bill for a job they never completed. Stay away!!! It's obvious by pulling into the parking lot and walking into the establishment that Dr. Watson is far more occupied by his obsession with fast cars than he is with taking care of his customers. I hate to leave such a neg here, but I think it's fair to share this info with my fellow Austinites. read more

I completely recommend Dr. Watson and his staff! I have always gotten a lot of anxiety, as far as my teeth were concerned, because I had some very crooked teeth. I underwent Invisalign treatment with Dr. Watson and could not be happier!!! The process went smooth from start to finish, even with me being a challenging case with some uncooperative canines. Dr. Watson is very kind and easy to talk to and ensured I felt extremely comfortable and informed the entire time. I also had a cleaning here and Rupo the hygenist was extremely thorough, kind and full of smiles. The office atmosphere is also great, the office assistant Berniece and the dental assistant were both so sweet and just put me at ease with their kinds words and smiles, taking away any anxiety. They also have televisions on the ceilings in the rooms so you have something to watch when they are doing what they do. As far as the bad reviews go, I have no doubt that Dr. Watson and his staff did everything in their power to bring resolution and happiness to these customers. Thank you Dr. Watson! read more

As a child, I had a lot of large mercury fillings that made my teeth and mouth ugly. 30 years later, I wanted to put crowns on all my molars but that was too expensive, so I decided I would just replace the worst two for now. I made an appointment to see Dr. Watson and told him that I wanted to place crowns on my two worst teeth to cover up the metal fillings. After examining my teeth, he gave me an estimate for the two crowns but suggested I just replace the old metal fillings with composite. With the old fillings being so large, I did not realize that was an option. Dr. Watson said that my fillings weren't as large as I was told, and that if I had any problems then I could always crown those teeth later. He explained that for less money than the cost of the two crowns, he could replace not only the metal fillings in the two teeth but all six that had metal fillings. I took Dr. Watson's advice and had all six fillings replaced. Now I have bright white teeth with no ugly metal fillings. Best part, for a better result, it cost me less money. I really appreciate Dr. Watson's honesty and looking out for my best interest. With regards to the procedure, other than the initial shot of novacaine, the procedure was completely painless. Dr. Watson has a TV mounted in the ceiling so I watched a movie while he worked on my mouth. The experience was great. I plan to go back to Dr. Watson soon for Invisalign. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Watson for many years and I am extremely happy with his services. I have had regular dental cleanings as well as other complex dental work, and I can say that Dr. Watson made me feel at ease and explained the process and every time I had no pain and the results were amazing!!. His office is super nice as well as everyone in his staff. Scheduling appointments is easy and his office always calls to remind you, which I really appreciate since I have a million things going on with work and kids. As a result of careless dentists from my childhood I am paralyzed when it comes to dentists. About 3 years ago I started going to Dr. Watson. I needed tons of work for my neglected teeth. At first I needed to be knocked out to even sit in the chair and now after 3 years, multiple fillings, a couple crowns and two veneers I can say with all confidence Dr. Watson is the dentist you want to go to. So let me start off by saying I HATE going to the dentist. For me it's like going to that one relative of yours who never has anything nice to say and you just dread what's going to come out of their mouth. I feel the same way about visiting the dentist and it's not like I have bad teeth. But you know how even if you brush and floss, it still seems like you should always floss a little bit more or use that mouth wash just a little bit longer. Well at least at Austin Smile Center, you are left not feeling criticized, but feeling like "hey, you're doing a good job!" even though you've just been told you need a filling. Dr Watson is awesome. I have been going to him for over 10 years now and each time I feel more confident that I have one of the best dentist in Austin working on me. They used to be off McNeil road way back when, but their location on 620 & Anderson Mill is clean, updated and relaxing. I love the TVs on the wall. Each dental assistant is also super friendly and do an excellent job at cleanings, even providing a little numbing gel if needed to help alleviate the pain. read more

I probably could be described as a nightmare patient. I can not hold my mouth wide for any length of time. I had Dr. Watson put in a dental implant on the very back lower molar. I've been visiting Dr. Watson's for the past 16 years, first, at their McNeil location, and (after it was flooded, and the landlord did not repair the office), at this Anderson Mill & 620 location. I received the following service throughout the years: Annual cleanings, multiple fillings, one root canal on the lower left molar, a crown, whitening with lifetime supplies, couple sensitive teeth (fixed by applying sensodyne directly)... Also, my wife lost a tooth during her pregnancy, and got the titanium screw with porcelain crown done here, too. There was a time when my company insurance does not cover Dr. Watson's office, and I went to Omni dental group for a filling, later, I paid out of my pocket to come back here to have my bite fixed. Even though I never won the $100 HEB gift card drawings, I still think Austin Smile Center is as good as it gets. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Watson for about 5 years now. He has always been very professional, courteous, and polite. His facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Today I was in a very tight pinch. I had lost a filling and was in DFW. I was in extreme pain. I'm flying out of the country tomorrow and the only available time was 5:30PM. I left DFW at 2:30PM but I could just not make this appointment on time. To my surprise, Dr. Watson and his staff waited for me and then stayed late to take care of me. This is just one example of how excellent this staff and facility are. They truly do treat their patients well and seem to have a sincere interest in not only the well being of my mouth, but they also take an interest in my life. The term "bed-side manner" might not be the accurate term for Dentistry but Dr. Watson definitely has whatever you want to call it! About three years ago I moved out to North Round Rock and I still drive out to Anderson Mill because a doctor this good is difficult to find! read more

First off I want to say I am not the person to go quickly write a review out of anger instead of trying to communicate with the business and resolve what's wrong. But this last experience left me a little shook at how they talk to and treat not only customers but people in general. This group of individuals including the dentist does not care about customer service or keeping their customers and genuinely left me sad when I left. I will first take accountability and say that I forgot my appt. In return, instead of rescheduling my appointment and being accommodating or saying sorry and charging me a fee because I missed my appt time, I got a lecture on how she doesn't believe me that I forgot my appt. I've never encountered that in my life. It's one thing to talk to your customers like that but to lecture an adult about how you "don't think they have integrity" when you don't know me personally. The whole interaction ended with them basically saying I'm not a good customer...so much for going there for 5+ years. Shock and sadness is what I feel and thought others should be wary before you go here. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Watson for invisalign. I had crooked lower teeth and needed braces to correct them, however, I didn't want to pay the full $7,000 price for full blown invisalign braces and I wanted to use my FSA card. Dr. Watson told me about invisalign express - braces at half the price and half the time! Eight months later, I have straight teeth! BTW - every other orthodontist in town wants to charge you for the full price using THEIR financing. Dr. Watson was VERY helpful and courteous. read more

I am very happy with my experience at Dr. Watson's office. My long time dentist died, and I still had a lot of work to do, so I researched the internet to find someone close to me. Luckily stumbled upon Austin Smile Center. The staff is very friendly, and I have felt welcome every time I've been there. Dr. Watson took the time to answer all the questions I had, and was very patient with me. I appreciate that because I had some tough decisions to make. I felt like the cost was reasonable, and I feel lucky that I found this place. Before I found ASC, I had to have a tooth extracted, and ended up at one of the large, corporate type businesses here in town with several locations and several doctors. I had a terrible experience there. I felt like they were only concerned about how much money they could get out of me, and the entire experience was very impersonal. I even wrote a lengthy review of the bad experience I had there. Austin Smile Center is totally different than that. I consider myself to be a very fair and honest person, and I will give credit where credit is due, and ASC definitely deserves 5 stars. read more

If I could give 10 'stars' I would!!! I received two compliments recently on my smile (YAY!!), which reminded me of the outstanding magic Dr. Watson (and his staff) performed on an otherwise sad face. I received rather painless implants that changed my life. Yes, I said my life. It's amazing what a difference a smile can make on a person's outlook of many things. The change has added renewed sunlight not just in my smile but in my heart as well. I'm so much more confident in what I know a person will see when they look at me. Sometimes I smile so much my face hurts :D The implants look so natural no one can even tell the difference. Dr. Watson was so kind, gentle and made sure I understood ahead of time what was going to take place, how long it would take and what to expect afterwards.
