Overpriced and took way too long. I took a laptop in with a bad keyboard. When it came out it would not get wifi. They gave me a free USB adapter to use for WIFI. Really!!! Stay away. read more

I have had several experiences with this company and have to say that each time I swore never to go back, but I like to support local business and I guess I just kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and they are close to my house so they were convenient, but I would use caution...they charge you more than they bid with extra hours of labor, they keep your computer longer than they originally said they would, and they over charge for parts (charged me double what the same part cost on Amazon)...so basically, a poor value. Jeff can be rude and confrontational. Also, once I got my computer back and they had plugged my drives in in a different order and it took me hours to figure out what was wrong and get my bios set up for the correct boot order...that is pretty basic stuff for them to be messing up! two thumbs down...now I'm driving across town to another computer repair shop which is not as convenient, but sooooooo much faster, cheaper and they do what they say when they say they will do it. read more

I have never been treated so poorly by a business in all my life. Jeff is without a doubt a shady and dishonest person. He quoted me $60 on a used video card. When I went in 2 days later I got a different employee. This employee told me the same video card Jeff tried to sell me for $60 is actually only $20. The employee then put the video card in to make sure it works which it did not. Jeff then walked into the store and said for them to look at it any more it would cost a $100 diagnostic fee. I felt that was highly unreasonable and he then he said we were done and for me to leave. I will never go back to Jeff Computers and I highly recommend no one else does either(unless you like getting taken advantage of). read more

Where do I begin with this trainwreck of a company? Jeff and his wife(indentured servant?) were rude from the start. They charged up front for a minor repair and then took forever to respond. Usually Chinese delivery is fast so that part was especially confusing. I had to follow up several times and they constantly changed their story and blamed me for "breaking" my laptop. At this point, I'm positive this is a front for some sort of money laundering scheme because there is no way they can be keeping the doors open by fixing computers. The front desk lady was extremely rude and there were some disturbing results in my browser history (don't want to get into the details as just thinking about them again causes my stomach to turn) after I received my laptop back. Bottom line: stay away at all costs unless you are interested in overpriced, inconsistent and delayed service. read more

I brought in a laptop with a USB port not working. I was told it was fixed and charged $160. I took it home, it worked for about 5 min. and then quit. I took it back, They took a closer look at it and said there was a small crack underneath the port and could not be repaired. It would have been nice if they had been more thorough and detected the crack, the real cause of the problem, before billing me. Jeff said, "well it was working when it was here." So no refund was possible. I did talk him into giving me one of the cheaper wireless mouses as a token compensation but, I did have to twist his arm a bit. read more

I was very disappointed that the technician called and gave me a quote to add an internal hard drive, he told me $300 more, making it a $400 investment. I was hesitant to spend that on an old computer, but he talked me into it. That seemed high. Believe me, we own our own business and nobody makes $100/hour, so I believe that's high to start with. Then he calls me and adds $50 to that! Again, he talked me into it. When I went to pick it up (a long time after) they said I owed $450 plus tax! Wait, I already gave you $100. Oh that's just for the diagnosis, that's not included. Really? You said it was a deposit, now when I go to pick it up, the hard drive total is $550! Who would spend that on a 2008 computer? That's half of a new computer. It seems like bait and switch. I don't like their integrity. The very unfriendly office gal is mouthing off that this lady doesn't want to pay what she's supposed to.... It's not weather I could afford it, it's the deception that I am upset about. He ended up discounting it to $399. So I spent $499. I'm so disappointed, and am scared now that I trusted them with a source of all kinds of personal information that they kept for weeks. STAY AWAY!! Let me start by saying that I know enough about computers to be dangerous but certainly not an expert as a computer repair company should be. I took my laptop computer into Jeff Computers late on a Monday and informed the receptionist that I had run diagnostics on the computer and that the hard drive was not recognized by the system and would not boot. I asked if they could diagnose the issue and see if it could be fixed. She informed me that it would be $100 to run an diagnostic on the computer and if I wanted it repaired, then it would be an additional fee. Since I had no idea what was wrong, I agreed to pay the $100 fee to see what the problem was. (Keep in mind I had already told them I had run a diagnostic and that it would not boot). I had not heard from them all week so I called in on Friday to find out a status. The receptionist simply told me that they were running the diagnostic and the ticket noted that the memory was good but nothing further on the hard drive. I asked if someone would call to let me know a status and she said yes. On Tuesday of the following week (7 business days after dropping off) I called to check on the status again. I spoke with Jeff and he said that the ticket has just been updated and everything checked out good except the hard drive. (Isn't that what I told them when I dropped it off 7 days prior?) I asked what the problem/solution was. He simply told me that a new hard drive would have to be installed along with the operating system and that they could see if they could recover any information from the old damaged drive. $100 for hard drive, $100 for labor to install and $100 to TRY to get information from old hard drive. So that would have been a total of $400. I told him that I could have bought a new laptop for that amount. I asked him not to do anything and that I would be there to pick it up that evening. When I showed up to pick up the computer, I'm not sure what they were doing with it but it took forever for the technician to bring it down to the front of the store. Bottom line is that I purchased a new hard drive, installed it myself and recovered my data all for the cost of a new hard drive which was $100.00. What makes me angry is that I wasted $100 for them to tell me the same thing that I told them with no value added service. I simply watched U-Tube videos on how to replace hard drive and spoke with a friend that recommended the hard drive to install. i stopped into the shop to inquire about fixing desktop. walked around the store and nobody was home. after a couple minutes somebody stuck their head out some room and said jeff was walking the dog and will be right back. after more waiting, i just grabbed a business card and left. i called the store later and spoke to jeff. i was explaining my problem and he interrupted me and made some "point of sale" comment which made no sense to me. when i asked him what that meant, he hung up for no reason! i called back assuming i was disconnected, and this guy would not take my call! i left a message stating i think my computer has a virus and my contact info. I will start this by saying I have NEVER written a bad review on a product or company but I honestly feel I have no choice. Jeff is bad news. I wish I had taken the other bad reviews on this site more seriously before going there! I wanted to patronize a local business Vs. taking my laptop to Geek Squad or Micro Center. MISTAKE! My backlight on my laptop screen was out (a common issue for Sony Vaio laptops). I took my laptop to Jeff...he said it is likely the screen, promptly charged me $100 up front (Micro Center only charges $45) and said he will be in touch. I had to follow up with that week, next week, and into the following week on the progress. They never called me. He then said my laptop was ready, and to stop by. I told him I would be there in 1.5 hours. He said ok. When I arrived my laptop wasn't ready so I waited 45 minutes for them to bring it down. Not only was it NOT fixed the screen was completely black (before I could shine a flashlight on the screen and see Windows running). He said the motherboard was out and it would be a month or so before he could fix. I took the laptop to Micro Center. They charged me $45. Called me regularly to update me on the progress but ultimately could not fix as they could not read serial numbers from the bottom of my laptop and the screen/external display was dead so they couldn't get the information they needed to order parts. THEY GAVE ME THE $45 back. I called Jeff back very frustrated that they had now left me with a computer that was in worse shape than when I brought it in (prior to taking it to Jeff's I used me external monitor to use the computer). Micro Center could not fix and I could not use. He said to bring it back in. I reluctantly did as I had nothing to lose at this point plus I had already purchased a new laptop. After dropping off I decided I would not call him to see how long it would take before they would call me with an update. I waited A MONTH. Finally I called him and asked him the status. He sounded scatterbrained and had no new news. I told him I will be picking it up. When I went in I asked him to refund my $100 as my computer is now a paper weight. He would not agree to do so and said the motherboard was the problem and had failed after bringing it in. He was making things up as he went along. So now I am out $100 and a laptop that is worthless. Stay away from this company. read more

It is hard to express my disappointment with the service I received. My laptop quit working stating "Operating System Not Found". It was the weekend, so my choices were limited in who I could bring my computer to. Like a previous reviewer, I thought it would be good supporting a local business. I should have gone with my gut after going into the store, but desperation to retrieve my information pushed me into making a bad decision. Before even looking at my computer, I was charged $200.00 + an extra $50.00 to have it done in a few days rather than a MINIMUM of a week. I received a call Monday from a woman who rattled off addition charges to do a diagnostic test or perform other services that could cost more than $1500.00. I explained to her the same thing I had explained to Jeff himself when I dropped the computer off. I just wanted to know if my information could be retrieved. I did not spend a fortune on the laptop, so while I was willing to spend a little to recover my important information, I was not willing to invest a fortune just to get it working. The woman proceeded to tell me how they are way more thorough than other local repair places, and that their time and in-depth procedures are what cost so much more. I just wanted to know if my information can be recovered. After waiting the rest of the day for a call back, and trying to call them only to get into a never-ending loop of their recorded message, I drove down there to get my computer back. The woman behind the desk expressed how wonderful it was having the phones down, seriously, as it made her job easier. I told her I just wanted my computer back, and a refund of the unused portion of my $250.00. Of course with their thorough investigation I owed them the entire portion. So for $250.00, I found out that my computer that wasn't working is still not working. Of course Jeff came out and proceeded to tell me that they could get my computer running, it would just cost another $140 for a hard drive, then labor, and I cannot imagine what else.
