My wife and I had an amazing experience with Jeff for our engagement and wedding pictures. We met him in person at a restaurant in Roseville to get to know each other before we booked him. He ended up giving us an hour of his time and answered all of our questions. 6 months later, we met up early for our engagement shoot and spent a whole day offroading through the Rubicon trail and taking pictures along the trail and then agreed to getting dinner in Truckee. That must of been a 16 hour day which is way more than what he agreed to for an engagement shoot. The pictures turned out amazing! One year later he was at our wedding outside Kirkwood. He brought a second photographer which was great to make sure we got all of our shots. He was on time and ready. He did a great job helping us look our best and now we have incredible pictures that we will have for a lifetime. A big criteria for my wife was to have a photographer she felt comfortable around since she was spending so much time with them and Jeff was exactly that. Also, Jeff got along very well with all of the other vendors which was a huge positive. If I could critique Jeff, I'd say the only thing would be it took pretty long to get our pictures. I remember when I came upon Jeff's photography in Instagram. That was when I just got engaged about 1.5 years ago. I was so impressed by his work and so I messaged him. He would reply so fast and answer all my questions. When I learned that the Tioga pass (the road to Glacier and Taft Point in Yosemite) was closed for the year, I told him that maybe I will just postpone the photoshoot to the following year. When my fiancé and I first got engaged, my search for our wedding photographer began immediately. Finding the perfect photographer was a priority in our planning as I knew that after the wedding the over, pictures would be all we had left to look back and reminisce on. You did offer to reschedule but it was so hard to get this date and I don't dress up often and for this day I had gotten my hair and makeup done especially for the session, no way was I doing that all again because you didn't plan well. So instead of my original plan, my husband and I drove around looking for another location that would accommodate you being late. We did have plans to get an appetizer and a cocktail before and make a fun night of it but instead, it became a such a stressful experience and changed the whole mood of the afternoon. You told me to expect the unedited photos in a couple of days so I could go through them and pick out the ones I wanted to be edited. This did not happen. Instead, you posted on your social medical pages pictures you took from engagements shoots and weddings that came after OUR session. I waited two weeks before reaching out, understanding that your busy (just check your texts ) and I got one to two-word responses. Saying they were coming soon. When I finally got the pictures to chose from "the special editing" you describe was a picture where my dress was pulling and I'll be honest I had a nip slip, that was what I wanted to be edited. It was again weeks after that we finally got our edited pictures. To be honest, at this point I was thinking of changing photographers, the way Jeff handled the engagement session and his responses to me after I just did not feel the same way I did after we first had met and how excited I was. However, we paid 50% deposit and we did not have another couple thousand dollars laying around to hire someone new and our wedding was coming up too quickly and our other choices were already booked. I had assumed my wedding coordinator had sent it to you because she said she would and sadly that did not happen. But as this is your profession I feel like some pictures are a given. Bride and Dad, bride and Mom are pretty basic ones, but that's just my opinion. After my wedding when I was thinking back and had a pit in my stomach that I did not get a picture with my mom I did text you, but YOU DID NOT RESPOND! It was only after my wedding planner reached out to you that you sent me a text almost a week later stating my unedited pictures were now ready to be viewed. Poor on your part. Jeff, I appreciate the pictures I got, I mean they are of my wedding day, one of the best days of my life so obviously I'm going to post them because they remind me of my husband and my beautiful family and friends, NOT you. Like my original post stated, we got some beautiful pictures, but the stress you caused me was just not worth it. Also, our venue was gorgeous and there were multiple different spots we could have taken pictures that did not have the parking lot as the background. I know because other people I know have gotten married there and I have seen their pictures. I left so many details and frustrations out in my first review because it was already a novel but since you have decided to try and make yourself look like the victim I felt I needed to respond. So, I had this idea to have my actual engagement photographed without my fiancé knowing about it. On top of that I wanted to do it in the middle of the forest in Lake Tahoe in the winter time. When I approached Jeff with the idea he was so excited and immediately said he loved to do it!! We worked together over the next few weeks to find a good spot. We ended up identifying a location that would require us to use snowshoes to access. Again, Jeff was all for it and seemed excited at the opportunity! A huge storm passed through the area in the days leading up to the engagement and left a ton of fresh snow on the ground. We hired Jeff for our wedding at Heavenly's Lakeview Lodge in South Lake Tahoe August 25, 2019. I found his info through The Knot and really wanted someone who could capture the amazing views from the venue and also capture great close-ups - and he did not disappoint!!!
