The first mortgage broker (Salmon Bay Lending), dragged their feet in every aspect of the process and caused us to miss out on a home. After that experience we thought we'd search for a different broker because we just didn't have a good feeling about the first company we used. My wife happened upon Sue. We called her immediately and she responded immediately. She works at an extremely swift pace and was professional, responsive, and clear through the entire process. She helped us prepare ourselves to be in the best position to get us a favorable loan. It was a breeze working with her because she could handle everything online and over the phone. She also has a competent staff which assists her when she was not available. She was not only professional but also friendly and trustworthy. It was a pleasant experience working with her. Her advice and guidance helped us immensely our previous lender offered no such guidance or advice. Her advice even went beyond mortgages, she also introduced us to a Real Estate Agent who was also awesome and great as well. She took a complicated and possibly difficult situation and made it a breeze. We closed right on time with no drama. We went through the home buying process with a newborn baby to take care of. Since I bought my condo with Sue, I referred him to her for his re-financing needs. She struck this one out of the park too! Not only did she do all the work (my bf is busy at work, and didn't have much time to sleep much less deal with the hassles of re-financing), she got him a good rate, low closing costs, and worked around his schedule. Now by work around his schedule, I really mean she worked around his schedule. They set up a limited power of attorney in case he wasn't able to return to the USA in time for the closing date (he had to leave for visa purposes). Now.... who does that? SUE DOES! I'm telling you, she has won my business for life! Go see her! I'm telling all my friends too! Thank you Sue!

I cannot recommend her enough to my friends that are purchasing homes; shes responsive, dedicated, thorough, organized and communicative. We worked with another mortgage company for 6 months before I decided to explore another option. Just over a year ago my husband started his own business and the other company kept telling us we would not qualify on our own so we would need a co-borrower. So we kept putting it off, not to mention we were told we would only get approved for 250k with over 15% down (because he ran the numbers and that was "best case scenario"). We thought we were never going to be able to purchase a home in this lifetime, it was not a fun experience working with this other company. So I decided to look on Yelp for another person to talk to - Wendy Mariani popped up and she was a God send. Wendy did what the other company could not do in 60 days; completely amazing! She was straight with us and gave us the bottom line and completely delivered above and beyond what we expected. My husband and I did not need a co-borrower and were able to qualify for 375k with a significantly lower down payment (I cant remember how much exactly). She dug through the fine print and threw everything at the wall to see what would stick to make our situation work. This is exactly the kind of person you want helping you purchase your first (or 2nd or any) home. If you are serious about purchasing a home Wendy is the one person you want in your corner, there's a reason she is ranked so high its because she walks the walk.

It seemed they didn't know what they were doing honestly and the whole experience was very stressful. We've been very diligent with all their requests but the very last minute urgent asks for statements in a specific format a week before we were anticipated to close made things very difficult. For instance, we were asked to send PDFs of our stock sale transaction but via a web format that was hard to get over moibile. I've packed away my computer and printer and the loan officer told me to go to a friend's, neighbor's or the library to get this.... all while we were packing up to move out of state. All of this could've been asked for much earlier. This is the 6th house I bought and this was the most difficult lending experience. They made many many specific request a for documentation even after we specifically asked them to share all requirements so we can get everything they needed at the same time. Another example is on day of signing, they requested another employment verification when they could've asked the HR person that was in contact with them, just a few days earlier. I don't understand why the final employment verification was needed AFTER the loan was approved. They kept saying all was standard... it is not. I believe it is due to their poor and efficient process. everytime I tried to call the loan officer Katy or the loan processor Marlow, it went to voicemail. If you have other options, I would suggest going with another lender and avoiding the headache. I was really regretting my decision towards the end.

I, along with my daughter and her husband and countless others, maybe hundreds and thousands in Oregon and Washington (and elsewhere), have been duped out of what is owed. After "investigating" this company, I believe their conduct is fraudulent and that they are engaging in unfair and deceptive business practices through their reward program. Just do the math-if my rewards over the length of the loan were 40 thousand dollars, and if 200 people had similar amounts, that is $8 million that they don't have to pay. I believe they don't have the money! It could be a PONZI scheme. Of course, they will tell you the Rewards Program is a separate entity. It may be legal, but that is going to be a weak defense, because if they benefit from the program, which they can't disclaim responsibility for when it fails! By the way, the Rewards Program is in the same building as Direct Mortgage's corporate office! Besides, all the Rewards Documents include the Director's Mortgage Logo! I requested this information over six weeks ago from Direct Reward Representative, Jennifer Easton, regarding the DR business entity, the jurisdiction in which the company is incorporated, and the name and contact details of their registered agent, and I have not heard anything to date! As others have mentioned, my loan was sold to a servicer within days of my loan closing. A company that has thousands of complaints! I encourage all people to file complaints with the appropriate state regulators: DFR Consumer Complaint Form (Oregon) Federal-Consumerfinance.org Oregon Attorney General's Office Do a review on Google as well! For some, if not all of you, complaints can be filed against Directors Mortgage and Direct Home Rewards! May the Force Be With You

    I've never felt as scammed by a company as by the Direct home rewards program. Originally when we…read moresigned into our mortgage, we were told we would receive $88 per month as rewards credit as long as we used our direct account to pay the mortgage. It was easy enough to set up, so we did and it worked fine for a couple years. Then all of a sudden they changed systems. The account for the new system was a pain to make (I thought numerous times while making it that many people probably wouldn't jump through all these hoops to figure it out, and they likely managed to get out of paying a lot of people because you had to make a new account to keep receiving the rewards they originally promised.) Also, in order to continue receiving rewards in the new system you have to either make at least 10 debit card transactions from the account each month or maintain a balance of $5000. We just use the account to pay our mortgage. We don't have any interest in making it into an extra bank account for daily purchases, which would require continually funding it to be able to make debit card purchases. We also use a credit card for almost everything to maximize cash back rewards, so we would have to forego those rewards in order to purchase things on this program's debit card... and keeping track of making sure we do at least 10 transactions a month sounds like a giant pain. So we opted to put 5k in the account, but not everyone can swing that. Also it doesn't earn interest, so over the next 26 years, I will miss out on $8862 of interest that I could have earned in my 4% interest savings account. Nonetheless, the home rewards are a higher total amount, so it's better than not doing it, but it feels very unfair, when the original discount on our mortgage was offered with no requirements like this. We signed into a 30 year contract being told one thing, and then the rules changed.  And now, to top it off, the system is broken. It worked for a few months after the changeover, and I started receiving monthly rewards again. However, for the last three months, I was unable to deposit money into the account successfully. If I can't put money in, then I can't pay the mortgage from it while maintaining a 5k balance. I was using the same bank account to transfer from that I used successfully every previous month. Nothing changed. The deposit says confirmed when I submit it, but then it never goes through. Three months ago I tried twice and neither one worked, so the mortgage came out of the 5k that was in the account. I contacted customer service. They had me do a test $5 deposit and took the confirmation number to follow it and were "looking into it", but there has been no resolution in three months (the $5 also never materialized, like the others). Consequently, I have had to pay my mortgage directly from my other account (the same one, interestingly, that direct can't manage to get money from anymore). So now I have missed out on three months of my rewards, both because my balance is under 5k (and I have no ability to replenish the funds) and because I have been forced to pay the mortgage from a different account (since I cannot fund the Direct account). I truly think that they make things as difficult as possible to prevent having to pay people the rewards that they promised when they made our original mortgage deals. I reached out to check in, and they are "still working on it" three months later, and I'm supposed to just wait. I requested that I still receive the monthly rewards while they work on it, since the issue is on their end not mine, and of course I got no response. I can't imagine they are particularly motivated to solve the issue in a timely fashion, since doing so would require them to start paying me again. The longer they delay, the more money they save. This is ridiculous. I am not alone. I've seen many similar reviews and a few people wondering if anyone is organizing a lawsuit. I've never been even remotely interested in something like that before, but I would be interested in jumping in on one on this if anyone is organizing one!
