I should have checked Yelp sooner. I first went to Brian after spending a week not being able to make a fist with my left hand. Having no insurance and not being able to do my job in such a state, I did the logical thing. I googled my health problem. I have had various RMI problems with my hands and wrists over the years, ( thank you ( GiantCoffeeCorporation!! ) and figured it was more of the same kinds of stuff but worse. One of the things I found talked about massage, and yoga and all of that good stuff. Being someone who does believe all of that can help, I thought, "Hmm. Massage. That probably WOULD help a lot." When I saw Brian's Yelp reviews and his location, about 1 block from me, I decided to try him. Wow. He found a knot in my shoulder. When he worked on said knot, I could feel the release in my hand. It was amazing. I know that sounds hokey, but damn. And after a couple of sessions, my hand problem was gone. It's true what everyone else says about him. He really is that amazing. I am not a girl to schlep all over the city. For anything. But I would travel to Beverly to get massages from Brian.

I had never had a musculoskeletal massage before, but it sounded good and Aaron's credentials sounded impressive, so off I went. The massage wasn't like the others that I had received in the past. Aaron worked on muscles that no other therapist had touched and explained the reasons behind my pain. I immediately went on Yelp to book a massage, but for most places in the area, you had to call in to schedule an appointment. I found Empyrean and the online booking system was so easy! The new client price was very affordable, and after a few clicks, I booked a chair massage for Monday. I had never gotten a chair massage before, but it was exactly what I needed. He was my first. First professional massage ever. This was in the early 90's. And I was hooked. I don't know why massage is considered a luxury in this county, cause it makes me feel a hell of a lot better than a trip to the doctor. And I tend to feel that massage is a lot more helpful for minor aches and pains than anything a doctor does. Anyway, he was amazing 20 years ago. We feel out of touch. Years slide by....and then, FB brought us back together again! And you know what? He's only gotten better. And I still fall asleep on his table. He had trouble waking me up. So yeah, your mileage may vary, but for me, he is pretty much The Man. I just need to find myself some insurance that covers massages. I feel like Saturday morning massages, followed by brunch somewhere in Andersonville needs to start being a thing for me.
