I was surprised to be taken to a room without footbaths...just figured that maybe they had changed things? Anyways, I don't enjoy deep tissue or heavy massages but I kept thinking while he was massaging "the foot part is coming I'm sure" ... it never did. It was a good massage but not what I had expected. I've been coming here for 2-3 years and the level of quality has remained consistent, the rooms are clean, peaceful, and dinner with lighting and music to reflect and promote a truly relaxing atmosphere. The med spas charging $120+ are shameful as I realized that the level of mastery does not even come close to what they premise: $70/1 hour deep tissue massage and I walk out of here feeling like a new person. Made an appointment for my husband and I for foot massages. Service was what you would expect from an Asian food spa, rooms were very clean and quiet, people were very prompt and professional. I did feel a little off put by the woman who checked us in though. I felt like she was trying to trick us into purchasing the combo massage (which is $60 instead of $48) and said multiple times that the foot massage was only feet, which is not true. I get frequent foot massages and they always start with a head and shoulder massage, move to arms, then move and stay longer on the feet and then end by flipping over and doing your back. He checked in several times by just saying "Okay?" and that was it. I opted for the full body deep tissue at 70, with a 20% tip. The only drawback was that the towels didnt smell great. I am in bliss! Today I got the 30 min foot, 30 min back with added oil and hot stone massage. I've paid 2-3x as much for a luxury hotel resort massage experience, and I've gotta say, I came out 2-3x more relaxed out of this one. I'll take less frills and go here. Bc of covid, I've only ever been in the group room by myself, or my bf who came to get a massage last time I was here. Even so, they ensure that you are comfortable and have privacy. Pretty sure they would not have you completely de-robe if there are other strangers in the group room, but if that is something one would be uncomfortable with, I did notice that they have private rooms for individuals and couples. A few minutes into my massage, they changed the massage therapist out without telling me. I started with a woman who was very friendly, but there was a commotion, and people coming in and out of my room, and I thought it was her who came back. I had my face down and was unclothed, so I didn't see. But a man had come back, and he didn't say anything to me. They did not, at any point, attempt to tell me. I was already feeling confused and uncomfortable because he was very rough and it was very different than the beginning. He finally spoke and I realized what had happened. I had no idea if he was even supposed to be in there, and no one, at any point, asked for my consent. People continued to come in and out of the room while he finished my massage. I left feeling very uncomfortable. It took me a couple days, but I called to see if this was a one-off and to tell them that it was pretty frightening. The woman on the phone said "We didn't want to distract you." She wasn't defensive, but it was clear she did not care. It was significantly more distracting to be confused and concerned as to why someone who you just spoke to is suddenly being very rough... when it wasn't even the same person at all. I don't recommend this place. It is never okay to put someone in a position where an unknown man is touching her, and not at the very least give a gentle check in. I tried to tell the receptionist that most people would probably prefer a heads up, especially women, but I don't think that will change. Regardless of the switch-up, the massage was rushed, rough, and regularly had people opening the door to my room and talking to each other. Unprofessional all around. read more

At first glance I wasn't quite sure what to make of this spot that I walked by everyday. But after a particularly stressful day I decided to stop by to see if they could take walk-ins. Thank goodness they do! I got a 30 minute deep tissue massage on the spot for the very reasonable price of $35 plus tip. Before I went in they checked to make sure I was comfortable with a male masseuse. I was, in fact I prefer it because they tend to give a little bit more pressure. He started with the blanket on and then spent the majority of time on my back and shoulders using oil, exactly what I needed. I point the pressure was quite a bit to handle, but I wanted to get some of the knots worked out and I really think that he made some progress. He did check in several times to see if the pressure was okay because I was squirming so much. At the end of the massage he cleaned off my back with a hot towel which was nice so that I didn't get oil all over my clothes. It looked like there was rooms for multiple people and I think it would be really nice to do a couples massage there sometime. If we decide to do that I'll definitely update the review to tell you how it is. read more

While the lobby may feel slightly small and sterile, once you step in through the door, you're met by the smell of fragrant incense, dim lights, and the pulse of gentle music. The price range at Foot Smile is jaw-droppingly affordable, and I'm a fan of the $35/hr massage. While it is slightly unnerving that you receive your massage in a room with others, it's the perfect place to bring a friend along. Once they set you up, they immediately wash your feet with a steaming hot towel. Wiping your body with a steaming hot towel is truly one of life's simple pleasures. The masseuses truly know how to incite the senses into relaxation. I especially love the attention to the head and face that Foot Smile does. When my masseuse puts pressure on my forehead and temples, I imagine my third eye being activated. The environment complements the massage so well, and it's an easy way to escape to a simpler life. Foot Smile offers a number of massages that I look forward to trying in the near future. They even have a four-hand massage - that's right, FOUR-HANDS! Such a horrible experience. It seems even 1 star is too much for this place. Me and and my partner decided to have a Deep Tissue Massage. First of all we had been waiting for masseurs for 15 minutes since we were taken into the room (our appointment was at 630p, we got a bit late like 632, then we were deciding which massage we want to order and got into the room at 635. Masseurs started doing massage at 650, I know because looked at my watch). The hostess let us know it was going to be an oily massage. Masseurs used just a bit of oil on my back and back of my legs. They were doing the massage with their elbows approximately 90% of the massage. That's weird because I doubt if anybody can feel enough with their elbows and not to hurt, especially when you massage the area around the spine. Their elbows hurt a bit and I showed it. When the masseur were using their hands it felt like light touches (reiki lol). Only my back, back of my legs, my head and my neck, and a bit of arms were massaged. Well, I liked how they massaged my head and ears only. Everything else just a ridiculous process which I cannot even call a massage. They were done at 740p. (50 minutes instead of 1 hr, like it was stated on their price list). When the host asked us if everything was ok, I definitely described my complaints. She insisted that it was one hour (whatever), and she mentioned that everyone does that type of massage with their elbows and it's normal practice. She confirmed whatever we got massaged it's exactly how it's supposed to be. Ok, we paid, receipt attached to this review. We got charged some additional service fee which we were not aware of... I asked for a contact information of the owner and she gave me only their email stating that the owner is in California. Ah, yeah, and the masseurs were talking and laughing all the time. It wasn't too loud but still annoying when you just want to relax. Anyway, I don't want to go there again and wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. In similar places like Foot Smile Spa in Chicago you can get better experience and full body massage for less money. This place is so excellent. For the amount of money you spend, the results you get are phenomenal and I am pretty sure this is one of the best massage places you'll find, despite the low price. Sure, the masseuses hands occasionally smell like garlic and you might hear someone burping in back - for $35 bucks you can suck it up. I especially love Lucy and Coco. Lucy remembers her customers and speaks English. She's been helping me significantly with a nasty case of plantar fasciitis (when certain tendons are over-stressed, "runner's foot" can happen. It's not fun.) She's not just a robot, she remembers and she cares and analyzes my progress. I always give her a tip almost as big as cost of massage. I've found that all of the masseuses seem to know the complexities of the musculoskeletal well. Expect some pain. It's part of the process. If you want a relaxing massage and not a deep tissue massage you should text the main number and let the woman know. Best way to communicate. Not a ton of English spoken. If you don't wanna be lined up side-by-side with other people in one room, ask for a private room, your massage will cost a bit more but you'll have privacy. read more

The deep tissue massage I received was one of the best massages I have ever received. The masseuse really got these knots out and made lasting changes. It was very professional as well. Mask wearing was enforced and it was clean. They also quickly take your temperature when you arrive. My only small advice for improvement is that my masseuse was a male and I was unaware that was happening. It is partially my responsibility for not requesting a female. However, this masseuse worked magic and I began to feel more comfortable after a while. I could've sworn the massage was longer but when I looked at my watch, she basically performed a miracle in that amount of time. Deep tissue is strong pressure (the massage tables are low and they lean their whole body weight into you) and you need to ask for the type of pressure that works for you. They also happened to be on Groupon, so why not take a flyer on it. Today I finally went and it was great. The place is clean and my masseuse Lisa was awesome. She was part Vlad the Impaler and I should have probably asked to go a little lighter, because I am beat up. It feels great though! She was literally on top of me using her knees to work through my tightness. My only complaint was that it was a bit loud at times, as you could hear through the walls. We had the Deep Tissue massage for $58. This massage focused a lot on our backs for the most part and and less time on other parts. If that's what you're looking for, it may be a nice experience. We were expecting something else. However, afterwards for a more full body experience the front desk person recommend some of their other massages to target the head, neck, legs, feet... We contacted the owner about our slight disappointment and he was helpful in proposing a gesture of goodwill, and even invited us back to experience something better next time. I bought a groupon for the 1hr thai body + foot massage. It was my first time here and my appointment was at 10:30am, right when they opened. There was plenty of street parking at this time which is always a plus (yay!). I was greeted by Ada, my masseuse. She led me to the middle area behind the string curtain where there were 3 beds, where I was assigned the middle one. While Ada went to grab the items for the foot soak, I looked around. It was dim and there was soft instrumental music playing. Very relaxing atmosphere. Everything looked very nice and it was also very neat and clean. Ada massaged my face and head first. Then the neck, shoulders, arm and hands. Afterwards, she did the legs and feet. Finally I turned on my stomach and she did my back. Ada was really nice and kept checking in with me about the pressure. It felt like she used a very moisturizing lotion; it didn't feel like oil. The smell was light and pleasant, kind of citrus-y and it didn't bother me at all. During the entire time, I had my clothes on. I'm not sure if that matters to anyone but that didn't bother me at all. Overall I was very very happy with my 1 hr massage. I think I would come back even without a groupon. I chose to get the foot & Thai massage and was surprised about the full body experience. I enjoyed every minute, especially when they did the Thai stretching. You are most likely to be taken to a room with multiple massage beds so don't be surprised if somebody joins you mid-session.
