Prior to contacting Leslie, I had great angst of this whole appraisal/sale of items process. I didn't want to feel foolish or be taken advantage of in any way. I had heard how you do not always get the true value of items if you go to a jeweler who then purchases these items. Leslie was very quick to reply to my email and honest around her fees. We scheduled an appt. and I brought my various items to her office for the consultation appt. During our appt, Leslie was very respectful of all of the pieces. She tests items and uses her microscope with you in the room. I felt like she was very thorough, and any questionable items, she agreed to test further. She was always respectful- even when items were not authetic gems or gold. The items we did agree she would liquidate, she logged for insurance and then gave them approximate values. Once the items were sold, Leslie promptly called me to inform me of the amount of the sale. There were a few pieces of jewelry I had left with her for appraisal-- well, as it turns out, they really weren"t anything requiring insurance, and she was very honest about not going through an entire appraisal process as this would have cost me money. I bought one piece of furniture and promised myself not to go out my the way to go their sales. Today, my relatives asked me to bring them to the sale in Dover. We observed a bunch of people coming down the driveway empty handed as we were going up the driveway. Prices were skyrocteting on their last day and 1.30 hours before closing. For example, a microwave marked $50, final price: 40.00 firm. Other items would be slightly discounted depending on how many things you bought. We ended up leaving empty handed too. The major reason was customer service. Staff was irritable, followed you all over and I was scolded for not knowing that a set of queen sheets would not be mine unless I bought bedspread, pillow covers, etc. Where was that explicit? The woman said "excuse me! you need to buy everything or nothing" No, because the sheets were okay, the rest was ugly!. Your sales could be better, have less merchandise left over if you make people feel welcomed to your sales, be reasonable with your "used" merchandise for sale as other Estate Sales owners do. I am not planning on wasting my time going to your sales unless I hear that there is significan improvement, a comfort level and welcoming environment for me to do business with you. Thanks

We had Skylight Jewelers recommended by a local Facebook group when we asked around about a local…read morejeweler for an engagement ring, and we are thrilled with how everything went. My fiancé proposed without a long-term ring, since I wasn't sure exactly what style I wanted. We gathered a few pictures for inspiration and met with Spencer at Skylight Jewelers to create a custom design. We iterated a bit with him on the CAD model before finalizing everything and having it cast. We had Spencer purchase a lab diamond for the gemstone, and he helped us through the process on deciding between natural vs lab and the criteria for stone quality (which neither I nor my fiancé were familiar with). Everything turned out better than we could have hoped! My fiancé and I still think the ring is so pretty and is exactly what I wanted. Spencer and Eugene also worked with us on a couple follow up visits to resize the engagement ring so that it fit just right. As our wedding date got closer, we went back for wedding bands and the process was just as easy. We chose very plain band styles that Spencer cast in the correct size for both of us.
