And the whole thing was cheaper than I expected!

While the first technician was repairing the charging port, he asked whether I also wanted to replace the battery because he said it was not in good condition. He explained that since the phone was already open, he could replace the battery for less than the normal price. I agreed. After he finished, I checked the battery settings and the battery performance was still showing 65%, the same as before the replacement. I asked him about this, and he told me that it would improve to 100% within 24 hours. He also told me that if it did not improve, I should bring the phone back within two days and they would replace it again. Unfortunately, the battery continued to perform the same way after the repair. I wasn't able to return immediately because of personal circumstances, so I went back about a week later. There was a different technician working that day. I explained what had happened and told him what the first technician had told me about returning if the battery did not improve. The second technician told me that he was not as experienced or trained as the first technician and did not want to open the phone to work on the battery. I left without the battery issue being resolved. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this store for phone repair. I paid to have the battery replaced, but the battery performance remained at 65%, and when I returned to have the issue addressed, it was not resolved. I am also pursuing the matter through the appropriate channels regarding the charge.

I called on Sunday 4/14 at 2:30 pm to inquire about getting my phone repaired. I was told I could drop off the phone and pick it up Monday 4/15 for a 24 hour repair. The store associate confirmed he had the phone part so I dropped of my phone that afternoon at 3:30pm. Monday at 5:30 I stopped by to pick up my phone and the store associate said they were waiting on a part, and it wasn't ready but would be ready Tuesday early afternoon. I called Tuesday (before driving out there) at 11:00 am and was told the shipment still hadn't arrived but it would in the next hour and my phone would be ready to pick up that evening before close. I drove by that evening around 6:30 pm and I was told "im sorry ma'am but your phone isn't ready" - they had not started. The store associate said it would now be ready "Wednesday morning when we open". I asked for a specific time, and I was told 10 or 10:30. Wednesday morning 4/17 I called at 10:30am and asked for the status. I was told "in the next 30 to 1 hour". At 11:30 I drove to pick up my phone and the associate said "im sorry ma'am but your phone isn't ready. It will be another hour." At this point, I asked for my phone back and I told the man I would take it somewhere else. He said he couldn't do that because he already started the repair. I said, I don't care - give me the pieces and ill take it somewhere else. He said no. I told him I refused to pay, and he said then "you won't get your phone then". At this point I decided to wait in the store until he finished. I waited for about 50 minutes until my phone was done. I was offered no accommodation or discount. I will never ever do business with you again and I will never recommend it to anyone else.

They tried to link me to the business but after being on hold for a short time said they could not get in touch with anyone. Google Assistant is a computer generated voice so there was no discussion. I think it is ironic that a tech company would not update it status on a search engine. I regret my waste of time.

Mr. Lew Turner has many years of programming experience and many more in computer consulting, diagnostics and repair. He made a house call and found that my hard drive was failing, and that some of the info on it might be salvageable. During Mr. Turner's set-up process (second house call), the new computer I bought failed right out of the box. He patiently worked with me as I did an exchange, and then he did a third house call. This second computer worked properly. Mr. Turner was not only able to salvage all the info on the old hard drive - he quickly set up the new computer, transferred all the old info, re-installed MS Office, put all of my old icons back on the desktop, and gave me a good tutorial on using the new features on Windows and the new computer. Mr. Turner's fees were much more reasonable than the quotes from the other services I contacted. In addition, he is very friendly and personable, he works quickly and efficiently, and he gets it right the first time. In addition, he arrived exactly on time for the three scheduled appointments. I'm a retired management consultant - now in my 85th year - and I have not encountered a more professional or competent service person than Mr. Turner. He and his staff get my highest recommendation. When trying to boot up one of our Intrex Computers custom…read morebuilt desktop home PCs, the Gigabyte motherboard firmware displayed a "Boot failure detected" message and wouldn't complete the boot. I took a cell phone photo of the screen and printed the image. I then took the printed image to the NerdsToGo store and showed the image to technician Jeffrey. Clearly Jeffrey was/is very knowledgeable about PCs. After viewing the image, Jeffrey indicated that this problem sometimes occurs because of brief on/off cycles in the power grid (which do occur in Cary). He suggested that, in response to the "failure detected" message I simply press the ENTER key on the keyboard to allow the boot to proceed to completion. When I returned home this did indeed work (after I replaced our wireless keyboard with a wired keyboard). Thanks to Jeffrey's suggestion, I was able to fix the PC without having to bring it to the NerdsToGo store. Jeffrey did not charge me for his suggestion. Thank you Jeffrey for your help.
