Transparency and accountability. I was not provided with key documents like the bill of sale, despite repeated requests. The dealership deflected responsibility instead of resolving the issue. I've been a customer at this dealership (Jeff Schmitt Nissan) for about 10 years, and I must say that it's service department has went way down. I am extremely unsatisfied with the recent service that I received. I will not be returning. Where is Mario, George, Shawn, and Jacob when you need them! Just horrible service! The old crew, especially Jacob in the service department, actually cared about doing the job correctly, the first time! Went for an oil change and also advised that there was an issue with my car. I was at a red light my car turned off and back on by itself. I do not have auto start and stop on my car. When I told the mechanics went occurred they told me there were no lights on my dash so they couldn't check. The lady at the counter was very rude, when they tried to charge me for the oil change and I told her it was included in my lease. Back to the issue with my car. I had to call road side assistance because days later my car wouldn't start at all - would not even turn over. With in two minutes they were able to determine the connection on my battery was loose and fixed it in minutes - something you would think the service department would have been able to figure out with out having to do a diagnostic check. They never addressed the issue I brought to their attention but tried to charge me 240.00 for new air filters. Horrible customer service . Would not recommend at all . I had a very horrible experience at this particular dealership. Took the car in for a part that was issued under extended warranty when service member Josh stated that the car had clearly been in an accident, and it was not covered due to outside influencers. At this point, I let him "dig his own hole" and I asked him if he was 100% sure that the damage was due to the car being in an automobile accident. After he said, I am 1000% sure that this vehicle was involved in an accident and that is why this part will not be covered and we will charge you for a diagnostic. I then informed him that the car had one previous owner besides myself and he can check the Carfax. I then informed him that the cosmetic damage that he seen by the headlight happened less than a week ago at a car wash, but the service light for the covered part had been on for four weeks. He then changed up after speaking with Cory and said OK I will roll the dice and chance it, We will get you all fixed up and on your way. The next day called said the vehicle was ready. Went to pick it up and what do you know, now the xm doesn't work because they performed a software update that was not authorized and was not mandatory but completely voluntarily of the owner, but they took it upon themselves to do it anyway, without consent and now the radio is not working. Called the radio people right in front of them (Josh) because he then stated that they contacted XM and they stated the subscription was expired magically, but had been working perfectly until we took it to them ,I asked XM if the dealership reached out to them with Josh standing right there and the radio Co. said NO we have nothing on record of a phone call about this vehicle associated to this VIN number and radio code. At that point I was done... I went home, did the troubleshoot for XM because IT WAS NEVER EXPIRED but whatever software update they did WITHOUT CONSENT is now messing with XM. Do not ever take any vehicle of any kind to Nissan in Beavercreek. They are very deceitful, sneaky, and just outright unprofessional. And that's in my opinion. Josh also stated that we were informed of the update and I informed him. Yes you told us that there was one, but we did not say to take it upon yourselves to do anything to our vehicle that does not belong to you but they did it anyway as I'm looking on Google and yelp reviews they tend to do this very often at the cost of the customer. Absolutely the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. Took my daughter's car in a MONTH ago for a recall - which should have been no charge. The car then needed a battery, which we approved. They told us for weeks (when we actually called to check-in - they never follow-up despite promises to do so) that it would be ready "the next day". Miraculously, the car ended up needing $2,400 of repair done despite it being in perfect condition when we dropped it off. oh also - they don't call for approval before the fix anything. terrible experience bought a nice trunk in 2020. no bad experience until it was our first oil change that wasn't covered by the dealership. it couldn't get done because the bolts had been stripped out. we called them and said you have the records you were the only people to touch the car since we bought it and now we found you stripped the bolts. they proceeded to say well it's been awhile since you came in . who checks their bolts between oil changes ? no one ! it's due you stripped them please help me. crickets. this truck drives me to my two jobs because the economy sucks so much my dollar is worth .50. read more

I have a car that was bought from Jeff Schmitt Nissan and it was a used 2013 Nissan Sentra and almost done with my payments when I received a call from Thomas Moore saying that he can get me into a newer car since he noticed that my lease was almost up. I advised that I am looking to trade in my car, I want a new car (small)and little/ low miles for about same monthly payment that I am currently paying. Thomas said that he could do that and I need to fill out a form and asked me questions about my current car so that he can run my credit. I said okay thinking it would be only one credit hit and the next day he was saying that he found me a car and I can come look and sign. He then said that he got me some car that was about 50k miles for higher payment( by like 60 more dollars) but it was a 2016 but he was a bigger car. I said it was a lot of miles and I do not want a truck or big car. He then said okay and he will check for me. Then he says that he found another car but then car was around 40k miles and I said again that it is to high and I want something new and If he can get me to someone to help or get me a new car. He said that he could and would get back to me. He then tells me that these are low miles and I advise low miles are 0-10 miles nothing in the thousand because my current car had a lot of miles. I said that I will call him back since I was upset that he wasn't listening to me and pulling cars that I didn't want. Later that day, then I received 9 inquires on my credit from credit karma and I called Thomas very upset wondering why he kept running my credit and not finding me a car that I want. Thomas said that he was found a car that I would love but wanted to make sure that it would be good payment and some company would agree to finance. I advised that he should not have did that without verifying the car with me because now I have some many credit hits and still no car and I don't want to do business with them. I told him not to run it anymore and the car that he said was "perfect" was a red car with about 40k miles that I already said I didn't want. I ask again why he kept running my credit when I didn't say that and didn't even know which car it was for. He puts me on hold and gets his manager on the line. The manager George Webb was not helpful at all and said the same thing that Thomas was saying like oh this is low miles for a used car and a great deal and I advised again that I am saying I do not want it and not the request at all and he seems to not care. I told both of them that I will not be doing any business with Jeff Schmitt ever again because of how they are treating people and now I am still battling with getting all the hits off my credit. I did not go in person so you could have better luck in person but I would say it is not worth the hassle. I am not sure they have to hit a number of how many cars or if he could only do used cars but he said have got me over to the new car department or said " I can not help but you can come in or he is someone else that may help" instead of wasting time. read more

We leased a new Nissan Titan and in July it wouldn't start on several occasions. We took it in and they replaced the battery which put a bandaid on an electrical situation. Obviously the lease has a bumper to bumper warranty. In August a light came on so we took it back next day. We were told there was a small crack in our tail light and water damage had gone up above the cab and around to the passenger side and would cost us 5k. Upon telling them we were going to take it to small claims court they suddenly changed their estimate to 7k which is 1k higher than you can take to small claims court. The dealer offered to pay our $500 deductible if we filed with insurance so we did and they declined it saying it was physically impossible for a crack in the tail light to cause water damage to the entire car. Laws of physics-water cannot travel against gravity and around the car from the tail light. Our dealer Jeff Schmitt lied to us saying insurance denied it due to the coverage we chose until we spoke to them directly and they said it was because it was impossible for the crack in the tail light to be related to that much damage and it was a manufacturers defect that should be covered under warranty. Corporate has only read us a prepared statement and Jeff Schmitt, although an 85 million dollar company has refused to do the right thing and cover the cost, despite the fact we are returning the lease in a year. I have never seen such a backward, crooked company from the dealer to the corporation and we will NEVER purchase a Nissan again, despite owning 4 in the past. 1 out of 5 stars overall on this review site should be a red flag for everyone. Taking this claim to court as it's black and white, cut and dry. This company does not look out for the consumer. Beware!! read more

I purchased a Nissan Leaf from Jeff Schmitt Nissan and couldn't be happier. My wife and I walked into the showroom and were pleasantly greeted by Shawn, our salesman. Shawn let us take the car for a test drive and never pushed me into buying the car. We talked about the price, he have me a quote and I left to think about it. The next day my wife and I returned and purchased the car. The dealer incentives as well as the tax incentives made the car really affordable. The dealer was very accommodating and made sure the delivery of the vehicle went well. We noticed the car had a scratch on the front. They took care of the scratch and even threw in a touch up paint bottle for my trouble. I'm really happy and impressed with how well everything ended up and I'm very happy with my new leaf. read more

I wasn't sure where to take my car and decided on this due to the location. Nothing ever really went wrong and the service is always done. Done, but not done quickly. It takes and hour for an oil change. Time aside, they are not Covid safe. The service managers either have no mask or don't wear them correctly. People inside the building also do not wear masks nor do the mechanics. read more

My wife and I shopped around and test drove some compact SUVs and finally decided on the NIssan Rogue. The dealership offered us a great deal and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. We were very disappointed, to put it mildly, in our meeting today. We drove 80 minutes (52 miles) based on what we were told the price and incentives would be yesterday. We were told that you would match the price of the white manual Sentra that recently sold at $14,???. We were also told that you were very motivated to sell it and you would make it worth my time. We were prepared to purchase the car today based on that. Well, none of that happened. They blamed the misinformation /communication on Lisa who I spoke to on the phone. I am currently having an awful experience with this dealership. I made an online appointment and dropped it off at night. I waited until an hour after the appointment was scheduled and called consistently throughout the day to try and see what was going on. What was wrong with it, if they even looked at it and I got no response. So the next day I called and they proceeded to ask me if my car was even there. It was right across from their doors. So I said yes and she said she could have them look at it the NEXT day. Once they looked at it I get told it's a 750$ total. I needed my starter fixed and if you do your research it's about a 300$ starter. So I haven't decided what to do but basically getting shitty service and a shitty deal. read more

I have to admit that I absolutely HATE car shopping. As a woman, I have found that the whole process can often be intimidating and I am pleased to say that the folks at Jeff Schmidt Nissan have won a customer for life. I found this auto group online, as I was shopping for a 2010 Nissan Maxima online, having subscribed to Auto Trader and Cargurus.com I was impressed at how promplty the dealership had replied to my inquiry via their site, set the appointment AND walked us to the salesman for a WARM handoff. This dealership truly gets it and treats each GUEST like family, the way we all want to be treated, especially when making such a large investment. Our salesman was Jason Anderson and he is by far the most knowledgeable, trust worthy, down to earth, and friendly salesperson that we worked with during the time we shopped for a vehicle. Not only did he carry a professional demeanor, he made the whole process easy, which is what we really wanted. He was straight forward, he was able to answer every question we asked (and was honest when he couldn't and his Manager, Tom, supported him and assisted with the sale), and he genuinely wanted to help us get in the right vehicle with the right payment and stressed that several times. As a whole, I truly believe this dealer prides themselves on doing the RIGHT THING for their clients. They really train their people and it makes a big difference, not to mention that we were HIGHLY IMPRESSED by the MOTOR TREND certification this dealer had - very nice touch!! When Jason greated us, he immediately provided a handout about the benefits of Motor Trend and it took the pressure off of concerns about the condition of the car (ex. were we going to have issues down the line with this used car purchase, etc.) and it showed us how much more important it was for this dealer to take the extra step to get this certification and offer this additional incentive for clients. I have to admit, I am not an easy shopper to work with. I have a finance background, I want the best deal, and I had done all the research going into the buying process. However, Jason always smiled and made the whole process simple from beginning to end, even the negotiation (which I'll be honest, there is not much to negotiate as this dealership's pricing is very fair, providing the best pricing from around the region) and the financing. He secured everything we wanted, including the terms and conditions of the loan that had been offered by previous dealers/banks, which included more work for their team. Moreover, I must mention that Jason & Tom saved the sale, as we weren't overly impressed by the vehicle we initially drove up from Cincinnati (1hr away) to see. Tom knew the inventory and suggested that Jason put in a call to a neighboring lot (Jeff Schmidt has 8 lots in the Dayton area) to inquire about a different 2010 Nissan Maxima they had. It was a color we hadn't seen or considered and once Jason pulled up with it, we fell in love! I appreciate that more than he knows....again, they truly DO want to make sure they are selling the RIGHT VEHICLE. In fact, they will even let you exchange your purchase within 3 days if you are in the wrong car and they will match a price if you find something lower on the exact model/options, etc. NO ONE ELSE DOES THIS!!! You must give them a chance. So.....once we decided to move forward with buying the vehicle, we worked with Jax in financing and she is a gem, making the loan documentation really simple and explaining everything in detail. There were a couple outstanding items and I can say that Jason and Tom followed up on everything they said they would do. I took our used 2010 Nissan Maxima off the lot, after hours (we came after work) on June 3rd and we came back to do the paperwork on June 4th. Everything was very efficient and an appointment was set with the service department for an IOU (2nd key fob to be cut and programmed) for June 12th. Even that experience impressed me. Tom, the Manager of Used Sales, came by to say hello. Monte in the Service Department was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me with with my new purchase. The service lounge was great (free wifi and soda/water with friendly and attentive staff). To top it off, George in New Sales took the time to go through all the questions I had from the Owners Manual (things I didn't think to ask Jason because we were in such a hurry to get a new car and so impressed and excited about everything) while I waited for the key to be cut. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. Jeff Schmidt gets it and I will continie to refer others and make the drive up from Cincinnati when I need service. Don't you dare purchase their warranties or else good luck with cancelling it if you happen to change your mind later. It will take about at least 8 months to get your money back and that's only if you consistently follow up on it. I have never written an unkind review, or cautionary story online but I feel an obligation to warn the local car buying public after my recent, abysmal experience with Jeff Schmitt Nissan. Within weeks of buying a new car at Jeff Schmitt Nissan, it began stalling while idling. This caused for some hair-raising trips, especially in busy city traffic where it died at literally every block. I contacted my Jeff Schmitt Nissan salesman (who had been so enthusiastic to talk to me before the sale) for advice. Nothing. I waited five days. NOTHING. So I took the car back to the dealership for service. They serviced it, but within minutes of leaving the dealership, it happened again. Very long story short, my brand new car was in service for over two weeks. It was an extremely disappointing, frustrating, and aggravating time for my family and me. Worst of all, the general manager and his staff were, at first distant, then combative about the situation. Ten days into this automotive nightmare, I requested a replacement vehicle - one without a history of malfunction. I was told by senior management, no, because that would be "a loss of thousands to the dealership." At least they're honest about it, but you see where their priorities lie. The minute I bought the car, Jeff Schmitt Nissan's commitment to me ended. I have the car back now. It remains to be seen if it's a lemon. Sadly, but not unexpectedly, I have not received a single follow-up email, or call from anyone at Jeff Schmitt Nissan. For all they know or care, I could be stalled somewhere in my brand new car. This happened awhile ago, but you should beware of "bait and switch" at Jeff Schmidt Nissan. They advertised a Nissan, that "wasn't available", and talked my daughter, who has a low income (with 3 children children-one of which is severely handicapped) into a different, newer, car that was way beyond her means. When she was late on a few payments, even though she sent the payments, the repo man came and repossessed the Nissan and sold it at auction, for a pittance, so she was left to still pay off thousands on that vehicle. She and the children have had to try to manage without a car, walking all the way to the grocery store, with my grandson in a wheelchair, in all sorts of weather, the other children in tow, because I am the only family she has and am only in Ohio p/t. and friends don't have vehicles big enough for all of them. My other two grandchildren, who had been excellent students, missed/ were late to school, which set them so far back, that they couldn't catch up. Other students started teasing and bullying them, so they had to change schools. They had to drop out of their extracurricular activities and couldn't get to their doctor appointments. This not only impacted them, but me, costing me thousands on car rentals, helping them to get another vehicle, etc. BEWARE! read more

Purchased a CPO Nissan Pathfinder. The salesperson was awesome and did a fantastic job. Shortly after we purchased the vehicle the engine had issues and Jeff Schmitt had to replace it. We went two months without our vehicle. The service department and managers at Nissan lack professionalism, communication skills, and empathy. They never communicated with us about our vehicle. We had to call them over and over and over again to get a response, and then when they would reply they would tell us they would follow up the next day and we would hear nothing. After being without our Pathfinder and having to drive a base model Rogue for the two months they agreed to put us into a comparable model for our family vacation. They arranged to have a rental lined up with Enterprise rent a car and we were going to get an Armada. However, when we went to pick up the Armada no one from Jeff Schmitt Nissan confirmed the reservation, so Enterprise gave the rental car away to someone else. Jeff Schmitt then tried to make it right, and this is the only thing they did right throughout the entire process. They pulled a 2019 Armada off of their lot for us to drive on our vacation. When we returned from our trip they finally called us. They told us our vehicle was ready to be picked up and that they had installed a new motor on it. When we picked it up, it had not been cleaned, there were used water bottles in the console, not ours, and with COVID, this is completely unacceptable. Their was dust and dirt all over the interior, and for some reason our 3rd row seats were down and the middle seat was pushed up. Not sure why someone was in the back seat or rear of the car to replace the motor. The best part is when we got in we noticed that the technicians had been smoking in our car. Extremely strong and noticeable cigarette smell. Would not recommend purchasing anything from Jeff Schmitt auto group. Service Department is definitely lacking quality control, leadership, and just plain common courtesy. read more

I bought a 2015 Honda CRV and mentioned I thought the brakes were bad when I test drove it on a Thursday night (Mar 29). Salesman said no they were just wet. I went ahead and bought it on Friday (Mar 30) and had explained I wanted to get in and out of dealership quickly as I provided my own financing and I was going out of town. At least two hours later after notifying them I was coming in I got out of dealership and left for AL with a stop in TN. I called the salesman on the way to tell him the brakes were bad. He told me when I got back to bring it in after I called GM Sam Allen who didn't take my calls and passed me off to another salesman. I tried calling after I returned two weeks later and no big surprise no one would talk to me. Here it is almost 4 weeks after purchase of car and I decided to call dealership service department directly. BTW I had my mechanic check the brakes to find someone had poorly machined the rotors and both rotors and pads need replaced. When I called I was told the earliest opening they had is May 7, 2018 a full 5 wks after purchasing the car. GREAT SERVICE!!!!!!!! and I have to take off work to take dealership. Unfortunately, recent interactions have driven me to social media to voice concerns regarding a recent experience. I have been shopping around for a vehicle for a VERY long time. If you ask any of my friends they will tell you I'm very indecisive, and I take a long time to make final selections. I recently visited your store (Nissan) to take a look at a Ford Taurus, and I liked the vehicle. The salesman (Kevin C) I interacted with from day one was very friendly, personable, and had depicted a great work ethic. He showed me a few cars, which I ultimately wanted the Taurus, but I wasn't 100% sure. He let me test drive the car overnight, but I still wasn't sold. There was an assistant manager helping us along the way named Dan D. I wish I could say Dan was nice to work with, but i'd be lying. He was not approachable, looked unhappy, and overall didn't have the best attitude with me or the salesman. I ignored this, but tonight drove me overboard. I got a great deal when everything was finalized, and I sat patiently waiting to meet with the finance manager. Shortly after waiting for awhile, Dan came over, sat down, and advised me that they couldn't finance me or release the vehicle until after 9am the next day. This was due to a holiday, and the need for manual processing. That whole issue was fine, but the interaction took the wrong turn when Dan got a bit of an attitude when I questioned why he didn't advise me processing could be delayed due to the holiday. I was interrupted multiple times, and Dan didn't even yield, apologize, or acknowledge. I am due to travel this coming morning, and I wanted to drive the car, but that won't happen now. That is completely fine though! I can get a rental. My major issue is the lack of empathy or acknowledgement that I as a customer was not happy with the issue, and I could have been at home sleeping, or he could have let me know hours before that was a possibility so I could put a deposit down, and go home to rest for my trip. I would have put a deposit down if Dan wouldn't of caught an attitude with me. Dan was/is completely disrespectful, and probably shouldn't be an "assistant manager" until his soft skills are addressed. I plan to write a BBB complaint tonight, as the customer experience was inappropriate. I would LOVE to still buy the vehicle from you, but I refuse to until Dan's attitude is addressed. Maybe he shouldn't work with the public? I don't know, but he won't have the opportunity to give me, a "customer" an attitude. Kevin on the other hand, walked with me to my vehicle and apologized for his bosses actions. I don't know everything, but something is wrong there. Been a customer since they opened. Have purchased three cars from them and services older Nissans there as well. Up until the last six months or so I would have given them a 4 or 5 rating, but not now. Both my son and I have had issues with their service department in that time frame. Latest, took my literally pristine Titan in for an oil change - had an appointment too but it took nearly two hours for a simple oil change - and that's the good part. While their tech was driving my truck - he allegedly gets hit (in my truck that they are still in possession of) by another customer. So they usher me out to show me the damage and hand me the insurance info from the driver and then send me out to get quotes to fix my truck. A truck damaged while in their possession not mine. Why are they not fixing it and working out any insurance details with their other customer? They did "comp" my $40 oil change. Damn gracious since the intiial estimates to fix the truck start at $2400 and could rise above $4000 according to Jeff Schmidts' own body shop. My disappointment was on a service of my car , I have a 2009 Nissan GTR that has been in accident ! After body shop repair I have been told to take it for an alignment due to rear wheel was hit , After replacement of rear control arms that was purchased at the dealer and rear wheel and tires alignment was done , A month later I have realized that my rear tires been damaged due to bad or incorrect alignment . I went back to Jeff Smith Auto Group , and Josh service manager told me after all they have requested me to purchased for an alignment that it is not their problem ! that alignment does not have any sort of warranty. I stopped in to look at a used Terrain they had in stock. The car was exactly what I was looking for and I am completely satisfied with the car. However the experience was horrible. After I told my salesman Trevor that I was interested in the car, he went to talk to his manager to come up with a price. He came back and the monthly payment was more than I was able to pay. So after I told him what I was able to pay he went to the manager and came back to me 3 more times barely making a dent each time. I was also trading in a car that he told me was only worth $1000 originally but then changed it to $1500 and I was putting down 1/3 of the cost of the vehicle I planned to purchase. Finally I told him I had to leave because I had another obligation and I had already been there for 2 hours and he could call me the next day. Then the manager came out and stopped me and said "If I can get you the monthly payment that you are wanting will you buy it", and somehow magically they were able to give me the payment I wanted after an hour of hassling me. On top of that when I first arrived he told me about the MotorTrend Certified Vehicle Program they offer and I asked him if it was included in the price of the car, only to find out later they want to charge you an extra $2500. And each time he came back with a new price he tried to talk me into adding the program on after I told him the first time I didn't want it. Also when I test drove the car it had rubber floor mats in it, and after they "detailed" it for me, they disappeared. And the XM radio was suppose to have a 3 month trial and it turned off after a week. Honestly I will never buy a car from there again, and I will not recommend them to anyone. I think it may be Jeff Schmitt in general because I bought a car from Serra Chevrolet in 2010, and had a great experience, and then Jeff Schmitt bought them out and I took the car back for a couple issues under warranty and had a horrible experience with their service department. read more
